Screen shot of hdtune and the 60gb ssd corsair. Not the absolute fastest but not bad for 2 bills out the door at the local frys. Best Wishes, StevenX

Steve, Nice scores! I'm sure if you keep it cool and kill some services, you can go higher!

Man, I just can't get my score higher. I've been trying the last few days to raise the 3DMark06 Benchmark to no avail.

I can run the Memory up to 930MHz, and the Shaders up to 1500MHz, but it just makes no differance in score. Just been hovering between 7070-7110. Dang CPU.

Guess I'll just have to try harder.

    Hey Steven, nice scores!

I had no time to the tests last week because of the exams, but I see you got your unit meanwhile so I didn't post anything.

Huge overclock on the GPU, shut down any unneccesary services, and keeping it cool ;) It was with the new drivers I believe. I think they helped a little. The 197.13s.

    Hmmmm..... :(

I just got my m11x just a week ago and wanted to try a benchmark test.
I have barely used it and have only installed sc2.

Ran the test (3dmark06) with OC CPU stock GPU and got 6235. Thats pretty bad ompared to others.
    Could this laptop be busted?

I noticed the facial recongition thing in the beginning is always broken up and messed up for a bit at startup.
I also notice that when I switch to the nvdia gpu the desktop wallpaper disappears and just leaves a black screen (icons are there but I have to reset the wallpaper which is annoying)

I hate to think I got a lemon.

    Should I replace this thing?

    U7300, 4gb ram, 500gb,

6200 is not bad to others. You're probably comparing it to the GPU OC's that are just pushing their systems for benchmarking purposes for 6800+. there's nothing wrong with your system lol. My system has done 6200 before, then other runs nothing changed 6300 and sometime 6400.

dunno about the other things though

When I installed the new drivers, it can't do the binary graphics switch.what is a good way to spot unneccesary services that is safe to turn off? I'm not gonna overclock my GPU because warranty wont cover it i think.

Everyone... 3dmark is not the be all end all of your notebook performance. It is a general here is your processor and graphics score. For gamers it is more important to judge your FPS in game rather than 3dmark. I will give you an example... Take a good fps for benchmarking (crysis). Run fraps or crysis benchmark tool with the game and on medium settings you get 33 fps and your 3dmark06 score is 6200. Compare this to another m11x owner. If they also get 33 +/- a frame in game but have a 3dmark score of 6500 would you then think you have a defective notebook? Seriously I would compare game benchmarks rather than 3dmark scores. Just my opinion... Good Luck, StevenX

@diabiosx, Some are obvious, things like printer spool, superfetch, ect. Basically the best way is trial and error and read the discription of each service. The worst that happens if you disable the wrong service is the computer will give you one min. to save your work and then it will restart automatically.

@Doomcake The M11x was advertised at 6100 for 3DMark. Your laptops fine. I wouldn't worry about it. ;)

Is there such a thing as a CPU benchmark test? If so, can someone run one, and possibly test a RTS game out, with all max settings and as many units as possible? Thanks

BTW, that's not the right res for 3DMark06, it should be 1280x1024 meaning you need to use an external monitor.

I know, but it was advertised at the native res, and most game at native res. Not to mention only a handful actually have an external monitor, so this thread would end up like 4 pages long. Gotta do something to make this more competitive ;)

I havn't had much chance to run it with an external, but the last time I did was 6800+ at 1280x1024.

yea, I might give another shot when I can get time. I'm pretty sure that score can be improved on. And while I'm at it I'll throw in some Vantage runs since I'll have everything set up, external, a/c ect.

OT EDIT: Mandrake, your not still getting the M11x are you? Saw it in the sig so I figured I'd ask

Yes, I picked it up from Best Buy. It has a stuck pixel near the middle of the screen so I'm not going to keep it. I do have an external monitor coming in by the end of the week so I can bench with it before I return it. ;)

Edit: What is the "hot" benchmarking nvidia driver these days? Any of the Dox drivers work?

Someone want to tell me how many FPS the M11x gets when running Crysis at:
    • 1366x768.
    • 4x AA.
    • High settings w/shadows at low.
    • Very High settings w/shadows at low.

Guys, got the SU7300 -4GB-7200rpm, M11x , and since I updated the video drivers to beta ones I see that Crysis (runinng in dx10) isn`t as fluid as it should be in "medium" settings, but L4d2 and MW2 are looking great.
Also, could anyone tell me how to make the Crysis benchmark tool run? because mine just starts the game...thanks!

Wish I could help, but I have the same issue. My Crysis benchmark only starts the game so I've never got it running right. As far as gaming questions, I havn't installed the new drivers so I couldn't say, but I would check out the **Official M!!X Gaming Discussion Thread** They are always testing the new drivers and gaming compatibility so they can offer better advice. Hopefully somone has an answer to the Crysis bench issue because I have the same question and have been to busy to investigate.

Hey guys, I'm thinking reallllly hard about getting the m11x, but I'm afraid of the CPU. I wanna play a bunch of games on it, and the one I'm mostly going to play is Starcraft 2. I've heard that Supreme Commander destroys the m11x's CPU in large battles, will Starcraft do the same? If so, that could honestly be the deciding factor for me in getting what seems otherwise like an absolutely brutal computer.
I was hoping somebody on here might be able to benchmark the CPU in terms of Starcraft (I don't really know what all goes into benchmarking, figure it's worth a try). Should I worry about this at all, or just go ahead and buy the computer? Or maybe wait for the possible summer refresh??

Thanks for any help, and for all the info here I've already been poring over!

Starcraft II runs great. Even on highs though some slowdown if you have a lot of on screen units. It will prob run better on medium but I haven't tried. I'm sure very well on lows, or even lows/mediums for hardly any major slowdowns.
