lol I loved me some jnco's. Never was bold enough for the kangaroos but damn I had them taxi cabs and all that hahah funny
-has anyone been able to purchase/receive the M11x sleeves on dell.com? Either one? Both are out of stock but I haven't seen them in stock. Are they shipping?
-
-
my m11x portfolio binder has finally shipped and most likely I'll post pictures when I get it.
-
Where did you order from? Dell, Provantage, Mobile Edge direct?
-
Ordered it from dell on 3/11
-
One for the UK guys, I picked up a messenger style bag made by tech-air from pc world at lunch time today, it was on offer down from £35 to £20. It's central padded section fits the m11x snugly and it has a couple of other pouches for power cables, mouse etc.
-
Got the portfolio today, here some pictures. It's cool how they have sort of a mesh opening, but it's kind of retarded how it doesn't line up properly with the actual laptop fans.
-
That's a nice case. Where did you buy it??
-
from dell as mentioned above
-
Ahh ic. They are out of stock
-
Anyone get a shipping date from dell yet for the sleeve? !?!?
-
-
As I mentioned before in the other thread MobileEdge.com has the Neoprene sleeve now in stock. Mine should be shipping out today.
-
I use the mobile edge mini messenger. It's a pretty good [exact] fit for the m11x. I usually just throw my power cord, mouse, and mouse pad in it. I tried to put a notebook in the bag along with the m11x once and it was a pretty tight squeeze.
-
Just cancelled my Provantage order and placed the order with MobileEdge directly.
-
i use a standard 20$ jansport backpack thats 7years old and the sway sleeve that came with the m11x. So far theres no scratches
and it saves me so much money.

What's best for a motorcycle? I waited for retail availability so that I could test fit it in my magnetic tank bag (measurement indicated it would be tight) and it started splitting open two days later.
The fitment is so tight that even a neoprene sleeve is too much for it, so I've been using the slip case it came with and padding the bottom with my other stuff (keeps it further away from the magnets until I can get an SSD!). I also usually carried my other stuff in my old netbook's neoprene sleve, which worked as even better padding/filling. I'd just throw my USB DVD burner, Razer Orochi Bluetooth wired/wireless mouse, power cord, etc into it. I plan to stitch the tank bag back together, but I still want an alternative. For example, the eSling ("e-sling?") seems like it would fit under my motorcycle jacket just fine for when I need to make more room in the tank bag, though something I can use like it which will fit inside my tank bag as padding until I need the space would make more sense. That means that it would have to be something that collapses when not in use.

@Desertf0x9: Does the portfolio have a shoulder strap included? I have seen pictures on Dell's site where there was a shoulder strap. However, these pictures have been removed on some sites.

I'm using that, once my m11x makes it in. I've been using for with my netbook and like it cause its large enough that if i need to take an external disk drive or whatever else I may need it can fit. -
-
I just wanted to report that with the portfolio the temperatures have been pretty satisfactory at idle for basic web browsing and productivity tasks. About the same on my desk despite the fat that the air vent for the fans are misaligned.
-
I also carry a lot of stuff in mine also. I have a netbook cooling pad and external optical in the very back pocket. Laptop, power cable, wireless mouse, USB hub, external HDD, Alienware tactx headset. in the main pocket. power inverter in the weatherproof outside pocket. Notepad and Misc stuff in the front pocket and a flashlight in the sunglasses pocket... I pack a lot of stuff around. -
-
-
-
I'd like some kind of sling that goes over the opposite shoulder but holds it high up in the chest area so I can wear it under my motorcycle jacket. If the e-Sling is a no-go, any other suggestions?
-
-
That sucks. Ya the Case Logic Eslings were located with the other case logic stuff in the cd/dvd area.
-
OK, whoever made this web page deserves some serious thanks and reps. I'm surprised at how much of that stuff I already own, ordered, or planned to order!
I'm ordering the Razer Kabuto, have the Razer Orochi, ordered a WD Scorpio 640GB 5400RPM drive (for a neighbor's MacBook though), own the Asus external USB powered DVD burner ($30 at Fry's last Black Friday), own the same Vantsc IDE/SATA USB2.0 adapter and the Kinsington BT USB Micro adapter (though I'm using a better Anycom BT2.1 adapter).
Anyway, for my daily motorcycle commute, I've been thinning my choices down almost as fast as I've been adding to them, but so far I am considering these:
Speck products TuckPack because it's slim.
Lowepro Messenger Factor M Computer bag because it's cheap, though a tad bulky to wear under my motorcycle jacket.
CalPak Negotiator because it's cheap and expandable.
Case Logic XNTM-4 Messenger eSling "for large electronic devices" because it would be perfect if the price were right (can't find them remaining after the Best Buy clearance).
thinkTANK Photo Artificial Intelligence 15 v2.0 is interresting because it's thin and flexible (vertical or horizontal), though I'd prefer a 12" version.
OR
Either the Hidden Messenger Bag or the Hidden Backpack From Timbuk2 PLUS a particularly thick neoprene sleeve (no padding in the bags) because either would easily fit in my motorcycle's tank bag when zipped up, sharing the space with the laptop in its cloth sleeve. When the space is needed for other things I can break out the expandable bag and strap the laptop to my back or chest, and merrily drive away. I'm leaning toward the messenger so that if I needed EVEN MORE cargo, I can still carry a full-sized backpack, but the backpack is so much cheaper in certain colors. Sound like a plan?
Anyone know of any more portable power plugs? When I ordered a replacement for my Acer Aspire one I got a two-prong plug as opposed to a grounded three-prong plug and it was smaller than my original, though the original was pretty small to begin with. Perhaps a lower wattage one might work with the battery charging disabled.

Case Logic E-Sling XNTM-4 SKU = 8954394

Looks like the Alienware M11x neoprene sleeve is becoming more available now. PCSuperStore.com has them in stock right now for $16.40, which is a really good price!
-

I use the belkin core backpack. Let me tell you i love this thing. It's slim and light. I use it over my swiss gear synergy backpack. I never write reviews or anything but i might just have to for this one. I picked it up at walmart for 29.99 When i first looked at it i looked over it because its not flashy or anything. But im glad i gave it a chance. It is small but holds my m11x, charger, stow-n-go cooler, gps, and all my cables. Give this thing a chance.
You can always return it if you dont like it. -

I ordered the Taipan shadow S, black from Premium laptop backpacks and laptop bags by booq . It looks to be a good fit and offer decent protection. Also has plenty of room for charger, optical drive or whatever....
-
How is the sleeve that came with the m11x? I'm gonna keep it in my messenger bag which is pretty well padded all around. I just don't want minor scratches.
-
-
just called macmall, they have alienware portfolio back in stock.
but the shipping cost like 8-9 dollars.
I ordered from Amdex instead with total cost around 30 dollars.
=] -
I just got the "Taipan shadow S, black" today from Premium laptop backpacks and laptop bags by booq I can't say enough good things about this bag, it is by far the highest quality bag I have ever owned. Anyone looking for a messenger bag for their M11x should seriously consider this.

Lethal Lottery Notebook Betrayer
Hey guys, can I just buy a 13" sleeve for the m11x? Will it fit properly? I was thinking about one from be.ez or incase, you know the ones intended for macbooks... because I know the m11x is kind of thick for a 11" sleeve (if they even make them...).
-
Why not get this official M11x sleeve from pcsuperstore. It's in stock and it's the cheapest place online for it too.
-
I can't find anyone willing to ship it internationally to the UK for a sensible price - it should be somewhere around $15 for USPS First Class Airmail. Obviously you can add on a few $$ to cover your costs
For some reason it doesn't exist over here ! -

Lethal Lottery Notebook Betrayer
I think I might order it from macmall, but then again it would be nice having a sleeve/bag hybrid, so I can toss in my mouse, portable HDD,flash drives, charger, etc. I might just use the sleeve that comes with it for a bit and be extra careful.( Heh, Im so cheap...)
-
I don't get the point of sleeves. They look cool, but I still need a bag to put it in.
-
Say you have a bag with no laptop slot or use the slot for something else since this laptop is generally too small for including laptop slot.. You would want to have some padding/scratch protection.
-
I'm just gona stick with my 17" DELL laptop bag I got with my old laptop. I#ll just pad up one side of the laptop pocket to stop it from moving around :]
I may save up a bit of cash aside for a proper nice new bag this Summer though
What are you using to carry your M11x around with? Bag questions here
