    Thank you for your responses.

Before you buy the Mobile Edge Alienware Netbook Portfolio (which is really beautiful) I want to know if the dimensions of the Alienware M11x (R2) would change and the new version was compatible with the Porfolio?

@ FelipY2K : Laura Sirianni of Vecmar.com assured me that they delivered in France. A special thank to you for this information. :)

Thanks for this link but the price (47,8€) is too much when you see that vecmar.com sell the same bag 21,55€ !

    If anyone knows... :)

A bit exotic, but I use a Nissan 350Z to carry my M11x around.
Has a sunken area at the base of the glove compartment which is 12x9x1.5" and the M11x fits like it was made for it. The glove compartment mat then covers the sunken compartment and cause it's a bit dark behind the seat you'd never know it was there... Doh!

Just received my m11x Portfolio, which I ordered from Gearzap.com

I'm already a happy owner of the Alienware messenger bag. Good to see that this cheaper model has the same build quality as the big bag. The portfolio is well built, nice and small with room for extra's (mouse, papers, charger).

For me the 'official' bags from Mobile Edge are the only way to go, even though they're not cheap.

Im using the Skechers 12" messenger bag, it fits perfect with the m11x and has ALOT of extra room for a mouse, games, DvD/CD external drive, magazines, books, manuals, cel phone and maybe a liltle bit more. I will show you some photos of the bag if i knew how to upload them. :3

It seems like the general consensus is that the best way to carry the m11x around is by the alienware portfolio. is that correct?

i also noticed that the power adapter is located on the bottom of the bag-- doesn't that impede the evenness of the laptop if one doesn't take it out? or is the pouch on the screen side and not the fan side?

what price did you guys get on the portfolio? i'm being offered 29.99 w/ free shipping while calling into dell...

    thanks!

Anyone ever used/seen one of these?

I plan on using this as a backpack for school since I have read nothing but good reviews (95%) about this backpack, especially since Woot! had this on sale for a day.

I mean, I researched thoroughly on this backpack and its very good quality and it is also not chunky and huge (like the XPS 17 dell laptops). It's very thin and it has straps in case you use heavy items to balance the weight. Plenty of reviews state (look up the woot forum) that they are very satisfied with this item. Though, try to get it for at LEAST ~80. Amazon's price use to be good, but for some reason it's lingered to the ~100's, so I am waiting for a good price on it.

    K

I got the portfolio case too. Have you actually tried gaming with it still sitting in the portfolio? I was wondering if that could cause the unit to overheat?

I haven't tried.. seems kind of odd to do so lol I haven't had the chance to game like in a car or something when I would not be able to take it out of the case and set it on a table top or something.. but the slot isn't exactly lined up but this laptop cools very well, just keep the back side open and some air intake on the bottom and you'll be good for some gaming.

Had a 14.1" Targus Neoprene case, but it was far too big so I returned it. Just ordered the Sumo 12 on Amazon for 14.99 shipped (ordered it along with the Razer Orochi, so free shipping).

Thanks but I live in Cusco - Peru, and when I tried to buy it, it appeared a message: No shipping is available to the selected delivery address - please contact the sales department for further asistance or change your delivery address.

So, maybe I would have to say to my brother to buy it in France, and send it to me.

    Regards.

Just snug enough for you to want to pull the zippers aware as you round the corners. If you can't find one of the cheap ones, I got an extra $8.xx one from Best Buy.

I am using a Razer shoulder bag, the 17" one which I had purchased for my M17x, but it did not have enough room in it for the remainder of my stuff. I also have the neoprene Alienware sleeve, which on day one one of the strings pulled out of the zipper, and out of the rubber end (with no pressure mind you), so I have the string just tied in there. No sense in trying to get anything RMA'd out here, would take months, so I just have to make it work. I use the additional sleeve due to the sheer amount of dust that covers everything out here, and additional protection from the heat when I am carrying it

I have found that almost any bag or sleeve for the 12" Powerbook is a decent fit for the 11.
For me this means I already have several bags that work well.

My favorite so far is the Waterfield Racer-X if I will carry it by itself with its accessories.

I also have Waterfield Sleeves and Bihn Brain Cells that are a perfect fit if I need it in a bigger bag with more stuff.

I ran around retail yesterday looking for something temporary until I decided if I'm going to order another Waterfield cargo combo. I fould that no local stores seemed to carry 12" notebook bags/sleeves and obviously the 15" ones were too large.

At Radio Shack however I found this: Targus® CVR211US 10.2" Sport Netbook Case.

Even though nothing else 10" I've tried works, that fits quite well and was only $20. It's not great quality, but it's a good (and slim) stopgap until I decided if I'm going to have WF custom make a new cargo kit in small to match my large one.

My old dakine laptop backpack I got when I was in university. It has a nice big red ink stain from a leaking pen on the front. Works great! Haven't been able to find anything better, it has survived through relentless abuse and torture and has no rips and still is relatively waterproof.

I'm using something a little different. It's a semi-hard case that came with one of my Pantone color guides from a few years ago. It fits the M11x perfectly and offers added protection when it's slid into my Timbuk2 messenger bag. It's a little hard to see in these photos, but there are some nylon pads that stick to the inner lining of the case with velcro. These help protect the soft touch finish from abrasion since they keep the laptop from shifting around.

Looking for some views on this, please. Especially those with the alienware sleeve.

My M11x will be in a non padded soft leather briefcase/satchel. So I need a sleeve with lots of protection. After surfing about it seems to come down to these..

    1. The Alienware Sleeve
How much padding is there on this?

    2. The Crumpler Hard Suit
This has a rigid side and lots of padding, but is for a 13" laptop so a little large. But also not that deep as aimed at the macbook air.

I got the case logic 12" sleeve which it just barely fits in. Makes the M11x look like a small netbook.

I also have the Tucano 13" workout sleeve which is a little wide for the M11x and the power brick is a bit bulky looking when in the front pocket. Offers good protection though. Looks like a regular size laptop bag though.

Ordered a Alienware Portfolio from Bagcrazy in the UK. Arrived yesterday, but they sent the wrong item. Ended up sending an Alienware m11x Neoprene Sleeve. Rung them up, and they said they'll send out the Alienware Portfolio immediately, and I can keep the sleeve as a complementary gift.

    Sweet!

I got my sleeve from them but they did not send me a Portfolio by mistake :(
Though I have an old Dell leather portfolio from some 11" laptop many years ago that looks like it could fit.

    Nice sleeve though :)
