Alright I'm now looking at the timbuk2 Q Amazon.com: Timbuk2 Q Laptop Backpack: Clothing
Saw a thread on mac forums of a guy fitting his 15inch MBP and a TON of school books, so probably going to go with this bag for class/work. Just hope it doesn't look too big on me since I'm only 5'7.
-
I just switched to this as I am carrying a lot.
Swiss Gear Ibex 17-Inch Notebook Backpack -
Alex -
i know this is old BUT i saw a backpack named Logitech Kinetik 15.4 Backpack
i found it on amazon for like 90bucks and thats to much i know that they used to sell it for like 30 or 40bucks max but now it's like 90dollars on amazon and thats to much anyone know a backpack like it ? or know a a site thats trustbel to order it from and cheap ? -
you say that its part of the bag but when i see your picture it doesnt have that added foam on the corner
its just got leather corners holding it in where as the other photo it looks like its had a square peice of foam forced in between the laptop and the corners -
ohhh i see what you are talking about - yeah, the bag I received does not have this.
-
If I order mine tomorrow Ill be using the 12in version of this: Higher Ground - Laptrap
-
that bag does look good
i think i would probably still be tempted by the Alienware one though.. i think its great how they included a cooling grill on the base of the bag
BatBoy did you ever get a replacement bag ?
and if so do you still have that zip problem -
Yeah the pads did help when I had the old HP tx2510us tablet. The thing ran hot as hell and needed every bit of cooling help even when doing basic tasks. Also makes getting the notebook out at airports easy and provides a nice 1/3-1/2 in of hard protection.
-
I just got the Orion sleeve. I didn't need anything else since I like to use different bags for different occasions but basic padded protection was a must.
-
stickman, let me know if you end up with the same trouble I described here -

I always wanted that Orion Portfolio Case, but since I live in Brazil, it's not acessible to me, but I guess that's a good thing, since currently wearing that Golla Ultra Mobile Bag Eletro G822
It's very small, discreet, and, it holds a lot, and I really mean a lot of stuff, it fits, my M11x exactly in the notebook part, then there is the power AC with cord and kensington lock on the back, external hdd, external dvd/blu-ray driver and mouse the other part inside, on the front part, 2 pens, some usb cables and a usb 3g modem and i still have the small front pocket available.
I carry quite a lot of stuff, and I think it looks stylish and most important, not bulky or anything like that, a major con, is that it's not a very confortable bag tho, the main reason is that it doesn't have shoulder pads, which is not a good thing, considering the weight of the M11x + accessories, and I use it on the opposite shoulder, mailman style.

nice bag u got there am bored of mailman bags when u walk or move fast or like be in croweded area it will bounce alot get hit alot thats why i like the backpack i want the Logitech Kinetik 15.4 but i cant find it cheap only found it on amazon for 90bucks and thats to much am looking for something similar or a belkin backpack
-
Backpacks are probally still better for your back, but I don't really like, also, it makes you more vulnerable to thiefs when you are on the street, in my opinion. -
im sure this has been posted before.. but i use this.....

ya thats a nice bag just for m11x like the proflito but i want a backpack like the logtic kinetic 15 its amazing amazon sells but for like 90bucks :<

There's a few hard shell backpacks out there, they might have a more extensive list in the accessories forum somewhere. You can generally expect to pay around that much for one unless they're having a big sale somewhere.
Personally I use a combination of the Alienware neoprene sleeve and either my Crumpler Moderate Embarassment when I'm traveling light or my huge Mobile Edge Premium Backpack when I need to carry more stuff.

Hey, guys. I still have a second brand-new Case Logic e-Sling that was on clearance at Best Buy earlier this year. If anyone in the San Diego area wants to pick it up for what I paid, $8, you're more than welcome!
It fits the M11x perfectly! FWIW, the $16 in the latest Meritline email is the one for 10" devices (too small).
I also have an unused Bell motorcycle tank bag that fits the M11x perfectly (exactly like the one I am currently using on my 2008 Ninja 250R). I'll let that go at-cost too ($26; I bought two to save on shipping). I can show how well mine fits my M11x.
Just sharing the hot deals I found with my fellows in San Diego. -

-
?
doesn't that make it completely useless ? -
Are you guys not confusing it with that Sleeve? because if that's the case, MASSIVE FAIL!
Also that cooling grid is a two way street, if it get's wet, your m11x gets wet, which kinda miss the whole point of the bags, which is to protect your note as much as possible. -
it fits the charger but it wont fit that that u plug in the wall u can make it fit by putting it inside the bag
and like leaving the head out of the bag hanging
XD
the bag is fail -
I'm glad I didn't waste a ton of money importing it from the US as I was planning.
Btw Salue, I saw that Logitech Kinetic you mentioned, It's big backpack for an 11.6" note, the briefcase looked better tho for everyday stuff, however for traveling, maybe the backpack is better, but if I had toy go for a backpack, those chrome ones look rather nice. -
i THINK my father ordered it for me from Amazon uk
the backpack is amazing really :3 i know it's big for the m11x BUT hey i have a steel series head which takes alot of space ;p and a mouse and the charger and 2books and psp
andm uch the backpack will be very indeed usefull if u wantt o pack load of sutff
-
Do you guys know anything about Ful bags? This one in particular. Any experience with other bags from this company?
-
I have the older version of this pack but it's virtually the same. It hasn't failed me yet for over 7 years... Ogio really does make the best packs, IMHO...

I use this for my laptop... Animal Mens Bags - luwv011002 - LEFT - BACKPACK - Animal E-Store excellent padding, fits perfectly, really comfortable, loads of room for charger etc... and most of all... hardly feels like your carrying it unlike my last bag where it felt really heavy. Love it!

Does anyone know of a bag that is a snug fit for the notebook and still has a seperate pocket for placing other items such as the power cord, a mouse, etc? I've been reading this thread for several days now and I've been doing a lot of research but I can't seem to make any decisions. I really want to get the mobile edge bag, but the problem is there is barely any space for additional items. Plus, that bag has an ugly bulge when using that mesh pocket.
-
I have this bag. The main pocket fits the m11x perfect, there is no space for it to move around in there. The smaller zipped pocket I have my power brick, tactx mouse, tactx headphones, a 500 usb drive, a flash drive. There is another pocket thats in the main part with the laptop that I have a notebook, planner, pens, and a few other small things.
I will take some pictures tonight of what everything looks like in the bag then upload them tomorrow morning for you. -

It's a shame the plug doesn't fit in, really would have thought they would have worked that out- So I take it, it wouldn't fit a somewhat large Razer mouse in it as well then?
Though perhaps I should buy another bag to keep my chargers and accesories in :S. -
Personally mine travels around in the Lost Ark....
Seriously, some little cheesy bag I picked up at Microcenter.... but its just right to hold all the power cables, mouse, iPhone cable, headphones, etc.
I am fearful of putting the M11x-R1 in the Alienware backpack with my M17x-R2, despite the fact is made to hold two M17x's without some kind of serious padded enclosure for protection from the big bad M17x -
Couldn't find any info in a search about anyone with the Timbuk2 D-Lux bag. I just ordered it from Amazon Amazon.com: Timbuk2 D-Lux Race Stripe Laptop Messenger Bag: Clothing in the small size.
I'm thinking the m11x should fit OK. According to reviews the 13inch macbooks fit great, and the m11x is smaller in every dimension but height, and it's only taller by like 0.5 inches.
I'll see how it fits and let everyone know. If it doesn't work, I could exchange it for the medium size bag, but I don't think I need all that extra space. -

Wow, the Waterfield bags are pricey... do they ever have promotions?
-
i really like that waterfield sleeve. but not 50$ like.
Anyone know of a snug fitting sleeve that I can fit in either my Jack Bauer Man Purse (TM) or my Bag of Holding? -
First post on the forum
I use a maxpedition Kodiak Bag:
Maxpedition Kodiak Gearslinger Shoulder Sling Tactical Messenger Gear Bag - MAXPEDITION HARD-USE GEAR Tactical Nylon Gear for Military, Law Enforcement, Tactical Concealed Carry; Tailored to Perform Tactical
Great bag and fits a lot stuff and it can take some punishment just dont put a lot of weight on it.
And protect my laptop with a pelican case:
PelicanProducts1080CCHardBack™ Case (with Computer Case Liner)
This case is a little expensive but i am paranoid with water
Here is a pic of the setup

Yes, and no. Both questions. The power cable fits in the mesh sleeve outside, but looks stupid, bangs against you and causes the bag to flop around needlessly.
The bag is really useful if you don't need the power cable. The battery life is great even at maximum performance. Honestly, I don't need to plug in the laptop anywhere but at home and work, so 2 cables works fine. If I'm going to travel, I use a different bag for the cable.
I assume this was the intent. The M11x is supposed to have a battery life of 8 hours. I got it down to 3 hours, but that still means I'm good everywhere. -
Slappa makes a few great bags. Check them out at CD Cases, DVD Cases & Laptop Backpacks, Bags by SLAPPA
They've got messenger bags, backpacks, sleeves, etc.
I've got the Velocity Matrix for 17" and love it. Maybe overkill for the m11x but it will carry 2 laptops nicely (for me an HP for work and the m11x for play). On business trips I can't play on the company laptop. Wish they would just let me VPN from MY laptop and I'd be down to one. -
ThinkGeek :: Canvas Utility Bag
Fits great in the main pocket. Power adapter fits in one of the smaller pockets and mouse fits in the other, plus I have a zune and portable hard drive in the other pockets. I have a neoprene sleeve on the way to have some extra protection for it while in the bag. -
I use the alienware sleeve and a small sized timbuk 2 bag
