New system bios A07 for M15x Model available for donwload

    Descargas

    M15x A07 System BIOS
    BIOS Information:
    BIOS Revision: A07
    EC Revision: 1.10
    Instructions and comments:
    1. To install the BIOS, download the ISO file and use your favorite CD burning
software to create the bootable CD from the ISO. Next boot up your system
from the CD by pressing F12 in the startup screen and selecting CD/DVD.
    2. To update to this BIOS your system must have BIOS A02 or later. If your
system does not meet this requirement, you will be updated to BIOS A02 and
then will be updated to BIOS A07.
    3. After flashing the BIOS, the system may restart a couple of times before
entering Windows. This is normal. Please be patient and allow the system to
    restart.

    A07 System BIOS Release Notes:
    1. Added support for the new Intel® K-0 stepping CPUs.
    2. Implemented Intel® EMRR support for K-0 CPUs.
    3. Enhanced compatibility with Dell diagnostic utilities.
    4. Enhanced YouTube and IE performance.

So far the only thing different is that it made my Windows Rating for Graphics and Gaming Graphics go up by .1. Other than that its pretty much the same. Probably less or no more Display crashes though.

Use an ISO burning program (I recommend IMG Burn), select the file and burn it to the CD. THEN Boot to the CD on start up.

And you have to have Bios A02 installed... If you dont' the same CD will upgrade you to A02 THEN install A07.

    :)

Possibly, just search for an ISO to Flashdrive program.... I forgot the one I used to use.

    Daemon tools I think.... :| I can't recall.

My ambient temp are about the same 22degrees (without science.)
Is there no diffrence at all for you?

First off that first guy was referring to the 260m speaking of throttling, its not a video card spacific problem.

To all else curious.. This is not any bios that has been used for fixing throttling. The fix would contain a NEW EC and would prolly clearly state it.
Figured I would mention before people start breaking out the tar and feathers.

The Nero version that ships with the M15x works fine to burn the 07bios image to CD. I had to enter the bios (F2) and exit/resave even though the CD/DVD drive was already ahead of the HDD in the boot order to cause it to boot from the update disk (F12 did not work for me). Once I did that, it flashed the new 07 bios and wrote a new EC without incident. It appears to work fine.

initial idle temps look lower (260m), however i suspect it has more to do with the fact that it's so cold in the house right now.... FREEZING!

That will be fun. I think you're going to like it, but there's a lot of luck of the draw with these video cards from an overclocking perspective.

The next bios release will contain the polling fix for the touch pad. Brian (erawaneila) mentioned this in the M17x forum.

Flashed to A07 successfully. On previous bios releases my video, nvidia 260m, failed diagnostic test. Video now passes diagnostic test, have tested twice and all is good.

I have been trying to update my driver to the A07 from dell website.... but it keeps making me save a download manager application.

but after i save the application, it says there is no files to d/l and ask me to go to dell website.

hence i cant do anything at all.... is there an alternative to d/l the latest bios driver?

I'm pretty terrible with computers after not taking interest in them for a few years, so I was wondering when my M15X arrives could someone help me with updating the bios?

I need to know how this will effect drivers, and how not to break my machine lol.

I did my update to the bios and the graphics driver last night. I may be wrong but playing oblivion after the updates things were smoother. i was also able to select the natvie 1920X1080 resolution and i had no lag or frame drops.
fallout 3 looked good as well with all settings maxed. I still need to try Dragon Age. Overall I am happy with the updates.

You'll have all the help you need when the time comes. It should have the most recent bios when it arrives; if not, there is no great rush to update. Just get used to it at first, there will be plenty of time for updates, none of which are all that critical.
