Hey inap, what about that, for 50 its a great deal! :D

Also, err, my budget is more like 700$ CAN before taxes... I like the dell studios but I can buy something else. Looking for a i3 core, everything else is pretty much given ( 4gb of ram and 320+ HDD)

    Nice find soccer.

You can get your mom a studio with a duo core for much cheaper. The i3 is nice but kinda slow, a decent duo core will out perform it and will be cheaper.

Err yeah well I heard the i3 > t6600 and stuff.
Plus i3 is kind of more future proof, easier on the battery and all!

I would buy an Area-51 ALX full spec and use the ordering advice thread to bargain down the price to 700, awesome deal! Maybe they will throw a screen in there too if you are good :)!

Edit: Oh nevermind, she wanted a laptop :S.

has anyone here played gta 4, or have any idea about games for windows live offline accounts? I need to log in to my offline account to play gta 4, but the one i made first got messed up so i made another, and i don't know how to make it auto login anymore. the first one used to log in by itself when the game launched now i have to manually select the new profile, even tho its the only one in the list. does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Here's a link to my youtube video playing Crysis on Very High settings. Video is useless unless watched in 720p ;)

Unfortunately the video recording device made my video stutter in some points. But generally pure enjoyment from the HD 5870's!
EDIT: And I just finished playing Batman: Arkham Asylum, hadn't played it for almost 2 months. Very High Settings, 1920x1080. Flayed flawlessly. Was a great game. I think I'm done gaming for a while though.

I use an xlive.dll mod. It removes the online stuff but makes it single-profile only (which is fine for me).

    GTAForums.com -> [REL|GTAIV] XLiveLess

So my replacement has been semi approved. They are going to Build the system as Follows:

    Alienware M17x Black
    17" RGBLED Display
    i7 720QM (Downgrade from i7820QM)
    4GB 1066 or 6GB 1333 DDR3 (Downgrade from 8GB 1333)
    500GB 7200RPM Drive
    Intel WifiLink 6300
    Bluetooth 2.1
    4X Bluray burner
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    CrossfireX 5870's

Semi approved means they've already approved the older configuration and now they have to update it with the new changes. So by next week I'll know for certain whats comming.

    *edited to include RGBLED

Flawless. With the occasional oddity with my mouse pad not working coming out of standby *shrugs* Updated the drivers that are on Synaptics and the issue seems to have died down to once every few weeks. Very odd. Next up I'm eyeballing a new vid card sometime this fall. Hope there is an easy upgrade path. I know there are a few upcoming options. The question is will they be compatible with the M15x

well the best right now would be the 5870. anything more then that i think will have heat and power consumption issues, but guess we have to wait and see. and glad to see everything is working fine for the most part.

Personally I'd take the i7-620M over the 720QM, better performance in all applications that don't make use of multiple cores/threading. You should see if they'll let you go from 720QM to 620M and then back up to 6GB of memory, I doubt it though since the 620M and 720QM are the same price to upgrade to!

It's all for the same client and he kinda in a hurry. I promise I will take a break from working for at least a week after I'm done so you can finally teach me how to effectively kill my enemies, bro! :p

Ha ha ha! Don't worry, bro. That's more than enough for me. No plans of becoming a pro myself.

BTW - I couldn't betray my M15x by buying his big brother, besides, I would only use it to watch movies anyway. And the M11x is too small for. I would buy an M13/14x, though. Nice for on the go!

Has Dell recognized the touchpad lag as an issue? I hate using the stock windows drivers, I need my 2 finger scroll back.
