u r better off getting from babyhemi..... without the heatsink.. the GTX260 heatsink will just be fine.. have u decided on the ssd...

EDIT: Just saw OCZ Vertex 2 hard drive on ur sig.... why not intel g2... it supposed to best bang for buck... its better at 4k radom reads but is slower at 4k random writes.. 4k random read and writes are the ones that matter... In the ssd thread i was advised to stay away from OCZ for the time being..

MrPras would be the best man to advise ya on SSD... He has first hand exp with Intel g2 and OCZ vertex 2....

I can't pay through Paypal its blocked in my country for some reason. I can use google checkout. I talked about this but he denied. Any advise from where should i buy?

    And thanks again

With SSD's its all about the 4k random reads and writes... sure OCZ beats intel on random writes but intel is still the winner when it comes to 4k reads,,, Faster boot time is only due to 4k reads and even when opening applications it is normally the 4k reads which matters ... and yes OCZ vertex 2 is a better performer overall but u won't noticeable difference unless u are using softwares which do a lot of huge data writes... And 60gb extra on the intel drives for the same price man..

EDIT: zaidbaby let me dig a solution for you just wait a sec..

already pm'd mrpras about OCZ vs Intel

I'm not sure wizard. I haven't experimented with that since I don't really believe in raid lolol. My guess is probably not since in the BIOS it still identifies the drive as an Optical Drive but under details it's a HDD LOL.

    @madpenguin92
raid combines the drives for an increase in read and write performance

it combines the total memory into a single drive being displayed in the computer
Where the hard drives are displayed

also gives better performance than having the drives separate

its faster... it writes and reads from both the dries at once when accessing a single file....

@zaidbaby babyhemi is accepting google checkout but he will ship after he gets the funds cleared to his bank account... u can also get INtel 6300 wireless card of him.. but i really think u won't be needing it because intel 5300 does the job fine enough...

oh ok thanks guys. so with raid 0 it just has your files split onto both the drives, so you will have a total space and not 2 separate drives for programs or music for example?

yes... its like having a single file with half on one drive and the other half on the other and when accessing that file it reads from both the drives which increases ur hard drive speed

it will display a single drive...

Just out of curiosity, is it best to keep stock drivers for the GPU? Right now the ATI drivers have been updated to 10.5, and I'm wondering if that is what my laptop will ship with.

10.3 are giving the best performance in benchmarks but 10.5 drivers have better contrast... dell drivers are crap they limit the performance of the card but users have reported problems with the ati drivers... dell drivers didn't havce any issues except for lowered performance in benchmarks..

    Hey guys,

A friend of mine got his m15x last week, they screwed up on his order and put a 260m instead of a 5850 like he ordered, dell of course agreed to replace the part. On Tuesday he received the 5850 and installed it himself said it's working great. Yesterday he received yet another 5850! This one without any sort of return label on/in the box. So Dell screwed up. How long does he have before Dell can no longer claim the card and sell it to me? lol

Still, I don't get it.. cost for my build is $2444. Plus tax its $2712 to CA (and thats WITHOUT Microsoft Office and HD 5870 on this laptop).

I'm pretty much charging 2.4k. Less right now. You'd think its a decent deal. BUT noooooo, people see the deals on the ASUS and think people like me are overcharging. Then they get done in with ASUS quality. Poor sods :( .

I don't think its a bad deal.. specially in Australia...

its cause people want the latest tech but don't research and see how alienware will always be better in the long run with having better temps and better build quality.
