Wow man, that´s expensive! I´m gonna pay $12.15 with my iphone 3g when I get back to Sweden. For that money I get unlimited surf and texting, calling almost everyone free and to the rest really really cheap :D

    Seemed the forums were down...

So how about that M11x? I know this is the wrong thread, but personally with the new ULV processor, its just a bit too pricey for my tastes. With the i7 620UM, 4 GB RAM, 250 HDD, and bluetooth, its over $1,300 CAD. At that point I'm thinking is it really worth it?....no.

yeah a few more hundos and you can get an asus or low end M15x. they should really keep it below the 1k mark, $1,300 is ok if its a metal body but for plastic parts that really to high.

Yeah i was at work. bored off my chair...and i couldn't log on to NBR! talk abotu a llonggggggggggg day. sheesh

Anyways about the m11x... it was advertized as a mini gaming rig alienware for 1k ... yeah right, like u guys said if you want a decent setup ur closer to 1.5k than 1k....

And cellphone plans in canada are horrible...but i got a corporate plan with my work so i get a slightly better deal...unlimited talk, txt, and 5gb of bandwidth a month for 90$ a month... not thattt cheap... but if it wasnt with my work.. id be payin close to double that..

Just received my "shipped" email from Dell!! Tracking info is still unavailable, but my delivery date estimation went from 6/17 to 6/10, which is tomorrow??

I found this a bit surprising, considering I chose the standard 3-5 day shipping.

Anyone else with recent orders have any updates on their systems ETA?

Anyone finding that after waking the laptop from sleep/hibernate it doesn't recognize being plugged in and brightness can't be increased? I had it in sleep mode unplugged, then plugged it in, and started the laptop, and it wouldn't recognize the laptop was plugged in. Battery still charged, but changing power plans didn't do anything, and I couldn't adjust the brightness. Fixed with a restart, but kinda annoying.

I can confirm that. I tried the adapter, and i had to set the volume playback device to the ATI controller, and sound worked fine through the displayport.

Using the Dell drivers for now. Until I see my games running poorly I wont update. The other drivers kept giving me "display driver stopped responding" errors, so I'm keeping the dell drivers for now. My games are running fine, so not a problem.

    Hey, bro!
Yeah, still working like crazy. I'm delivering all stages of the project way ahead of schedule in the hope to finish it soon but they just keep sending me more!
Man, I'm gonna watch all games of South Africa 2010 no matter what!
The whole project is 10 days ahead of schedule because of me, so I'll definitely gonna cut down during the WC.

I gotta say, though, it's bloody great working on my M15x. Everything flies and runs smoothly, no waiting for apps or software to open. In one word, IT ROCKS! (Well, that's 2 words, but who's counting?)
:D Gonna grab a couple of cold ones, bro. I recommend everybody here do the same!

Hey, has anyone got a M15x with a HD 5730 yet? Well, I've just ordered one from Dell and wanted to know how it performs? I presumed that it will perform better than a 240m yet still staying cool right?

What the hell? Its showing the HD 5970 as the 4th fastest card.. behind the GTX 480 and GTX 470 AND the HD 5870... I'm not trusting those tests.

Although it shows the 5870m is almost as good as 2x4870m's?

    And no CF5870's there.

BTW I recommend people stay away from this site if you ever see it: Atomic 3.0 (Powered by Invision Power Board) . People there are all jealous of Alienware laptops so they take every opportunity to diss it. Typical desktop tards.

I'm pretty sure i know the answer but i would like to be sure...

My M15x is under warranty (4years), however, i've replaced the wifi and will soon replace the card with a 5870m.

I was kind of hoping on selling my 260m and 5300 but i don't think i'd be able to without "voiding" my warranty.

Thing is, if something were to happen in a few years and wanted to turn it in to get fixed, would i need the original parts inside?

I am pretty sure you need to as they would put all the blame into you or the parts you changed and void your warranty after that.

Well I don't know about the wireless card, but you won't void your warranty by upgrading your GPU. It is seen by Dell as a user upgradable part. The card itself, though will not fall under the warranty for obvious reasons, but the rest of the machine will.

Well thanks to a few members on here I learnt about the 940XM, so I ordered it straight from ebay. Buy the i520 from Dell, replace it with the 940XM (which stays very cool but still needs a Dell update for it to be fully compatible.. just minor things here and there). And Bob's your uncle.

That way I managed to get 3 years warranty over 1 for pretty much free (after sale of i520). I wouldn't have minded RAM at 1333mhz, but the i520 system doesn't allow it, so can't do anything there (1077mhz only). Joker's got the current BEST score for a laptop I believe.. and I'll have the same system.. so can't wait. ETA 29th :D

It'll smash my, frankly amazing M15x in scores thats for sure.
