Not much difference, but the M15x seems to run a shade hotter then the 8760.

Worst part of the G73 was the stupid double sided tape on the keyboard and how you have to practically destroy the keyboard just to get it off....

When your inside everything is just cheap and there is tape holding to many things down... Its a great machine if you can just leave it alone but since i like to tinker i was not that happy lol....

Well based on your temps i think ? im content lol... I would like say 82 degrees but its just not likely to happen so ill leave well enough alone for now...

I have some thinner thermal pads coming and ill take another crack at it then but i dont expect much... As long as in the end its not worse ill be happy....

All our machines are hitting 88 it seems ... Good stuff and especially compared to the Clevo ...

Thinner pads may help the memory temps ...

I had and have considered compound on the Video memory and before people say No dont put paste on the memory plenty of people do this on the desktop cards and waterblocks etc so its perfectly fine and safe.... Obviously not AS5 though or any conductive paste though lol...

Ill wait until i get the 0.5m pads and go from there ...

Clevo cards are overvolted as mandrake said... Just reduce it by .05 v(1.1v) and flash it with edited bios.. You will see the temps drop from 96 to 88....

Well just got power back in the house, we were down for nearly 24 hours. It was just in time because I got a new clevo 5870 in the mail (thanks babyhemi) and I ran furmark for 5 minutes with no throttling. Definitely something weird with the Dell cards. Temps topped at 72c. I'm happy now.

No, I plan on trying Vantage soon.

I probably should mention I almost always use a Cryo. It's not the most powerful set of fans but acts nicely to prop your system up.

Regarding the Seagate, I bench with my Samsung SLC SSD and I can definitely tell the difference but it's still a nice middle ground for performance, capacity and price.

Haha yeah he is extreme ... My interest in benching is gone for ever i think lol... Ill sit back and watch you guys wrack your brains insearch of better numbers...

I cant wait to see some Clevo 480 numbers though ...

Id love to get one of those Clevos again with a 480 but the 10 minutes of battery life just kills it for me... Not to mention the horrible sound system and lack of backlit keys... I can live with the build quality though unlike a couple of my friends who absolutely hated it ...

Could be ambient temps involved. The only way to truly test it is to do the test in the same place at the same time.

Your just making better contact then me from the looks of it ...

Do you spread the paste on your GPUs or just do the drop method ?..

Hopefully your benching itch go's away sooner rather then later and youll be happy with what you have otherwise its going to get costly ....

Mandrake is the perfect example of that :D...

If you play your cards right though and dont hold onto anything to long you wont lose to much between machines which is another way around it....

I have not held onto any machine for more then a couple months and im not even benchmarking, i just get bored and need something new....

When i get a new machine the first thing i hear from friends and family is "so when are your selling it ?" :(....

well then you shouldn't say your looking for a new machine to them as it will happen every time you do just build or order your new system and then sell the one its replacing and this way they could only know once its out the door so you can get a better price for it instead of the 'family/friend' discount.

I usually just get excited when i am getting a new system but nowadays they just roll there eyes at me lol... Its the old "Another one?"

These people dont want my old machines either and are happy with there one machine for much longer then i ever could be ..

Sometimes when buying something new part of the fun is sharing the idea with other people but well yeah thats not going so well these days lol..
