Should I sell my Clevo 5870 after the RMA and buy a Dell 5850?

Might not be a bad idea and then you can possibly have the 5850 added to your existing warranty...

Yeah, that way if I do something stupid again, I can just complain to Dell (since I have Complete Care on my M15x).

What kind of price would make a brand new Clevo MR 5870 with a W870CU heatsink move fast?

I'd be willing to take a loss and sell it for $290 just to move it fast.

Question about turbo in the BIOS.
Enable or disable for better performance?
So far I can't tell the difference.
RAM voltage in the BIOS leave it stock or does it help to raise it?

Im sure if you sold it for $290.00 shipped with the Heatsink it should not take to long to sell...

    Ok!
Will raising the RAM voltage not make it work?
    Burn out?

yeah once you start talking about adjusting the bclk with setfsb then you can try adjusting memory voltage to see if you can get better stability out of your system.

Those scores are from a 825/1100 overclock. Any higher and Vantage crashes. Probably can't get more than 8.95k.

Either my 5850 can handle memory clocks well or just the fact that I ran my M15x with a 10k BTU A/C blowing into it's vents. :p

awesome scores miahsol, so is that the max you can push the core? try lowering the memory and just focusing on the core.

Pushing the core will require some over-volting for stability.

On a side note, for those looking to buy the 5850 I ordered one on the 5th of July and the delivery has been delayed twice. My current ETA is the 19th.

Alright, I need some advice- I ran the PCMark Vantage and my score was in the upper 6,000 range. Before running I upped the speeds via AMD's gpu clock tool to 850/1100 and verified that PowerPlay was disabled.

Here's my question- What am I missing that is making my scores on all benchmarkings so low? I may not be an expert at overclocking but something is really wrong to get scores so low. (My 3d06 is in the upper 12,000's)

Post GPU-Z and CPU-Z with the Vantage run so we can get a better idea of what's going on.

    Also, get ThrottleStop.

Set GPU-Z so it makes a log, which will make looking for throttling easy.

Run ThrottleStop with the Log File option checked while running a benchmark. It will show you if your CPU has a throttling problem and is not running at full speed.
