where do i go to set up 7% discount?
im not used to Dell . i wanna get my account set up becausei will be buying this week whoot
-
-
www.dell.com/epp
Then just pick a company size. -
http://www.delluniversity.com/myoffers.aspx
And tell me what info they ask for so I can get it from the student I'm going to pretend I'm buying it for. -
Yeah normally you need a code from your company but I have no idea if they check.
-
I'm pretty sure Moo meant the Dell Student Discount.
-
No they don't.
I have a company code, but have never had to use it. -
ANYONE can use an EPP discount - here's how:
At the Dell.com main page, click "Public Sector" and don't pick any of the dropdowns.
Next select the Healthcare Employee Purchase.
Voila! Your all set - they don't ask anything as the 7% discount is usually not any cheaper than the deals in the Home section
-
I doubt they check that also. Just pick a local school and see if it works. I bet it will.
-
Wait until the coupons start showing up. People will start selling them.
-
The worst that happens if they do find out is they charge your CC for the extra amount.
-
I have been using an employers discount for years - but I haven't worked for them in years, either.
They do not check or care because the discount's via epp are usually not as good as the Home section. -
7% is better then nothing , atleast it pays for sales tax.
-
But the pricing schemes are different as well.
It may be a 7% discount, but 1 HDD upgrade (or cpu, etc) might be a $200 difference between EPP and Home.
Trust me, it is a joke. Do what you want, but I have been playing the Dell pricing game since the original XPS Gen2
-
They would cancel it. They can't charge you more than what was agreed upon otherwise it's an easy chargeback.
-
So we'll do a quick comparison before buying.
-
It said it in the agreement I read yesterday while checking out the student discount on Dell's site.
The agreement you accept says you agree to let Dell charge you the difference should it be found out you're not a student. -
^
YES! Always, no, ALWAYS check all sections of Dell for the best price.
Also, look thru the as advertised section, laptop deals section, and watch all banner ads.
They are all different.
EDIT: this was a reply to mandrake -
Ya i know what your saying , the prices changes once you enter the EEP so it might seem like a bargain but they jack up the prices on something else to offset that 7%.
-
Damn fine print. Credit card company will still side with you once you provide a receipt.
-
Exactly, quadzilla....
-
any 1 can help me tell the different between a RAID 0 and RAID 1 ??? which 1 is better, and are there anything else other than these 2 RAID and how is it??
Thank you. -
They should take the allpowerful countdown off the site and just put in big letters "WHY BOTHER?"
-
Another thing since the m17x can be ordered thru Dell -
If you have it, use the DPA to buy the system and recieve another 3-4% off the system price.
Select credit card during checkout to see the offer. -
Buy one HDD from AW then buy a fast SSD aftermarket and don't worry about RAID.
Install windows, apps, and games on the SSD and music movies and pr0n on the HDD. -
Raid 0 = 2 or more disks, faster speed, no redundancy, the total of both disks is your total size.
Raid 1 = 2 disks greater redundancy (mirror copy), total disk space equals the size of just 1 of the disks.
There are lots of other raid options but require more than 2 disks. -
Jesus, I wouldn't expect to be replied this fast lol, looks like about 100 ppl is on this site now.
-
I really hope they include the x9100 extreme processor, I wouldnt care so much if i saw a comfirmation that the qx9300 would be overclockable in the bios, but I like the higher clockspeed of the x9100, and I am hoping that they include it in the processor selection.
-
I know what EPP is...whats home?
-
home page
ten char -
Seeing as it's only the QX9300 that's listed as an option those rumored .3Ghz and .5Ghz OC step-ups seem more plausible values to me now. The X9100 can OC that high but it's a limit for that CPU while the QX9300 handles those bumps in clocks without a sweat and AW likely thinks makes it safer for them.
-
So basically to attain the largest coupon/reduction/savings on this laptop. Go epp or dell university. Then sleeyo said to use your credit card and get DPA? What the deuce is that, and another 3-4% off because you use a credit card? for a total of 10% off? that would be sick for an example of 2500 system.
-
DPA = Dell Preferred Account (Dell's version of the AW financing).
Just use that and then pay off the balance. -
So its confirmed that we will be able to OC the qx9300 by .3 and .5 procs then in the bios?
-
So using DPA will make it a financing deal..but then you pay off the financing immediately with no interest? Not a bad idea. But sounds tricky..or I'm naive both mildly likely.
-
you have a year of no interest
-
Me too, I was disappointed when there were no x9100 in the proc. option, hopefully when the official order options come out, they will have the extreme x9100, I don't know but I just simply like this one
.\
anyway, any idea if It worth to pay another 50$ to get a 4GB of 1333 GHz RAM ?? I suggest the 1333 GHz is faster than the 1066 GHz isn't it?? and the Graphic card should I order a single 280m or a dubble 280m SLI ?? is it a better choice to order a single 280 (can a single 280m max out the option of some games like, Lineage II, Empire total war, The Sims 3, GTA IV, ect....) ??
I have to go to school tomorrow, but i'll try to order it in the library when it first come out, lolzzzzzz. Also, as i have seen the order page from Dell, I'm living in Canada right now, but couldn't order it ship to Canada, hopefully I can still order it tomorrow though, any1 in here from Canada and going to order it?? please just shout out to let me know.
-
home page ten char?
...still dont understand
pretend you're talking to a slow kid with down syndrome
-
I hope they offer a year of no interest...
-
Im more game of paying it all upfront...But do i get to chose how long I pay for? 1 year of no interest and the whole thing is paid off..or like the alienware where is it no interest for a year..then it pops up alot after.
-
I'm curious as to how they're offering the video cards at such shockingly low prices. This is an amazing deal, it's just too bad my needs max out at 15.4". It really makes me curious about whether an M15x replacement is in the pipeline, and what it'll offer.
Though I personally wouldn't buy this one until MXM 3.0 was confirmed. -
If you like to pay it up from just pay it when you get your first bill and then you don't have to worry about it. 10% off!
-
lol look above ^^^ the home page, i just wrote ten char to get my ten characters in lol the home page is "dell.com"
-
Ok lets pretend I'm a teenager...and my dads paying for it for college. wait thats true. So I can sign up for the financing plan to pay over time, then instead of paying X(the fraction of the full price) You can just send them the full price and they will be like Ok...stop the billing hes good?
Sorry never financed anything before -
It's been confirmed by JerryJ in his First Look post in the News and Reviews section, that there will be two OC settings for Extreme CPUs.
What clock speeds those settings will be and how it works are still rumors though. The rumor was it's .3Ghz and .5Ghz boosts through an app in Windows and not through the BIOS. -
that's awesome 10%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's a whopping 300 dollars off the 3k monster
-
Nice, now I dont mind as much that there is no x9100 processor, as long as I can get it to 3.0 or above, I am fine with that.
-
Wait, 10 percent off for ANYONE who buys it at full?
-
Since I never used my DPA before I don't know how to get the 3%. It might be cash back on the account. Can anyone confirm?
-
Anyone that passes a credit check.
-
I just went onto dell and picked a random laptop and put in info to see how it worked. Got to payment, and by picking credit card it said 2% discount. Granted i didnt go on my university account to get 7%, but i assume i can get both.
