    Further digging into my Alienware Titanium account problem, I decided to hit up Alienware chat (which, oddly enough, now takes me to the Dell XPS chat technicians).

    The TL;DR read version of this: this is not an "Alienware" laptop, but a "Dell Alienware" laptop that will only be sold on Dell. Unless the rep was wrong, but if that's the case, it almost sounds like Dell is phasing out Alienware's site and integrating Alienware's products into Dell's system completely. This is 100% base assumption, but given A) it's only sold on Dell's site and B) if you have an Alienware Titanium account you can not order it using that line of credit it seems a bit more than plausible.

    I am truly a sad panda.

    A sad day for Alienware customers with Alienware credit lines.

    Sometimes..you just don't need to, so Ive learned people around here just enter that phrase to get by the threshold.

    Need MXM Spec confirmation! I'm betting my money that the GDDR5 4870s only work as MXM 3.0 because of power consumption and necessary clock speeds.

    They will not be available for the M17. I'll bet money on that.

    Go to "pay with credit card" and then you'll see the 4% offer with DPA. If you go straight to DPA you don't see it....sneaky.

    Yes! Just order through the EPP site. Although that's where I ran into a problem. It doesn't offer complete care warranty and the nameplate. I'm waiting for them to call me back saying they processed it for me.

    Okay, last question: does ANYBODY know what brand of SSD they are offering with this thing? 2 of them for $800 isn't that bad, but it all depends on the brand/model.

    So by the looks of it, the M17x is using MXM 3.0b if you look at the little presentation under graphics. The design of the GPU slots resemble MXM 3.0 spec.

    saw a review that said the pb22-j (that model name brings PB&J sandwiches to mind) does very well compared to the Intel X-25M which seems to be the benchmark at the moment. Would anybody go with this drive (or two) or opt for a different drive?

    On the EU sites SSD's are not shown as an option, is this an error or won't it be avaible for us in the EU (would be rather stupid wouldn't it?) also the memory shows up as 1067 MHz DDR3 SDRAM .. can't be right.. right?
    I know it's usually more expensive in the EU but we also get crappier parts for a much higher price? I do think this is an error I'm just confused.

    I actually went through EPP instead of student but it's supposed to be the same. If you go to the website you have to select your school and the it should bring you to a page that looks like the EPP site.

    And..mine is ordered. 2500ish with student discount went with 260s in SLI with 640 gig raid 0 hard drive with T9600...I want it now lol Any ideas on when these are being shipping?
