Sorry I don't, but something is sticking in my head from years past.

Doesn't it have something to do with DC voltage being carried on an AC signal?

It's been a very long time since I thought about any of this.

hope dell won't run out of 280m just like m1730 run out of 9800m when people rush in order, then they end up increasing the price like m1730 from 900 to 1200

That free upgrade program is very cool indeed. Someone that got there W90 today got one of those vouchers for a free Win7 upgrade in the box , maybe Alienware will be doing the same thing , dont see why not since the machines will be shipping so close to July 1st when the program is supposed to officially start.

LCD's have native resolutions. Running a WUXGA at anything other than 1920 x 1200 is going to look like crap.

It's not like the good ol' CRT days!!!

I prefer to run all my games at 1900x1200 when possible. I don't mind giving up a few FPS to play at native resolution.

DPI won't change the fuzziness of running an LCD at a non-native resolution.

Me too. Just I go to school online, which means I'll be staring at this thing for a few hours everyday.

Native res of WXGA+ >>>>> Running WUXGA at non-native res.

    IMO, of course :)

Well the chassis is magnesium or aluminum. I'm wondering how thick the aluminum case/shell is. Hopefully thick enough to resist dents.

    Screen's not aluminum.

You drop a laptop that weights 12lbs it's going to take damage.

Complete care also covers spills, etc.

You can add warranty terms and options at a later date (via Dells website).

I always go barebones with the warranty at first, then towards the end I'll upgrade to cc and extend.

can some kind souls please confirm something for me.

If I buy the M17X and have it delivered to me and I am using it.

After 1+ year, when there are better GPU hardware being released

Is there a service where I can buy the new GPU hardware from dell and get them to upgrade it for me on my M17X?

also can some kind souls please tell me what GPU socket the M17X is using?

Yeah as long as the Video card partners actually stick with something for more then 10 minutes IE MxM3.0b then an upgrade should be possible. Of course theres always MxM3.0c(couldnt resist) :D.
