I really don't think you'll get it on the same day as the people who ordered on Tuesday. That's just not how AW or Dell work. =p

I am not sure if I am posting this in the wrong section. This is my first time posting in this forum. If i'm not posting in the right area, someone please direct me.
On March second 2008 I purchased an m15x notebook from the Alienware Corporation for $4996. I have sent in my device to be repaired by Alienware four times. Each time I received the device the problems resurfaced. The problems were, a hinge that would crack and fall off after weeks of use, a Bluetooth card that would cause blue screen errors, cracks in the case, dead pixels on the screen, and finally, severe overheating of the graphics card and Cpu. The devices hinge cracked for the 4th time and then it caught fire when I was at one of my client’s homes. They repaired it a 4th time. I received my device back on May 29th 2008. On June 4th 2009 I tried to play a few games and noticed that the graphics card could not handle the games that I used to play before the 4th repair. I contacted peter from Alienware and he performed a few stress tests on the cpu to find the problems. The graphics card got as hot as 116 degrees just idling. The Cpu on the device got as hot as 96 degrees and then blue screened. The pc crashed. After this stress test one of the cores in the dual core pc is not functioning properly. I was told by the rep, that Alienware wanted to repair my device a 5th time and would give me a $100 gift card, but will not be offering me a refund or store credit. He then told me that if I sent it back again within two weeks for the same issue they would put all new parts in the notebook after I sent it in for repair a 5th time. I don't know how to deal with Alienware. If anyone has ran into these problems and knows what to do please let me know. Thank you. -
Ill take it apart...No..No I wont But if I could I would just so i could say i knew something about a laptop that moo didn't.

Rather have a long..plentyful post with very helpful and informative details...rather than a short post with a scan overview
The first takes time, while the latter does not -
True enough. I guess we'll see how much time he spent on it when it gets released next week.
(He isn't really going to ban me, right? =p) -

The Internet here at E3 is very sketchy, so when I find time to upload the video, it will be uploaded. I can't give you a timeframe right now.
Hang on though . . . you didn't even know about the M17x a week ago.

True for the moment. But I think the point is preparation for future applications.
-
How far in the future are we talking? I mean the lifecycle of any gaming laptop is only so long.
IMO. the whole "future proof" thing sounds good on paper but rarely pans out. -
true after a while its like any other computer.....
-
thats what i have been trying to tell people...
its like buying a 5 bedroom house for one person in hopes that in the future you may have a family...
by the time the qaud is up to par for games and such to take advantage of it, the remainder of the laptop will be outdated...mobo, gpu, ram, os...
stick with what you want as far as speed, but to "future proof" at this time seems a bit overkill... -
It's like some of the hardware is a step ahead of the software. Not necessarily a bad thing, but maybe not necessary. Yet.
-
Chaz???
Where'd ya go????
-
He's doing work son lol
-
Yeah, he's playing with the M17X!
-
I believe it lol
-

Hope you get it sold soon, it's a d*** good deal!
-
D****t! sry for dbl posting again.
Yeah, I saw the image at the Dell site and thought the lunar silver was polished.
Didn't realize until later that it's anodized silver.
-
i know it is especially now the 4870's are coming im thinking of raising it ...
-
Careful. The flip side of that is if the "official" word ends up being that they won't be coming out for the M17.
-
i am not doing it lol
i was just playing ...... but any one who does buy it just has to ship it to me and i can get the cards installed
huge bonus...maybe i should put that
