THAT would be insane if that was true for shipping times. im waiting for the dell rep i know to call me back to ask him about shipping times
-
A rep told me that it wouldnt really change the shipping times if I ordered it on the third vs the second, and it seems like everyone went into production including me on the third, so it looks good for my shipping times
!
-
i had the regular 3-5 day shipping but you never know if the cs gave me correct info but hopefully its true
-
now i have to call them and ask if any of the shipments are ready to be sent out soon....
Nvida what was your originally estimated delivery date in your order confirmation email? -
Damn right you are!!!!
-
on july 7th lol
-
It would be something if we started seeing tracking numbers next week.
FYI Dell does update their site on weekends. Just last Sunday I order something in the morning and had a tracking number by the evening. -
same here brotha
-
okay just spoke with him.... he is going to make some calls and get back with me due to all the misinfo they seem to be throwing around to people. ill post his response as soon as i hear from him
-
that is awesome...mine says july 2nd...
now i am actually pissed i cant pick mine up until june 23rd...i was hoping it would make it in time for june 29th and now its gonna be insanely early. -
we'll see, lets see what zfactor confirms
-
That only assuming the people engaged in the discussion are morons. For the rest of us, those discussions can be enlightening.
p.s. I hate cliches like that -
You can't talk about religion 'cos God can't be proved or 'disproved. Anyway, let's not discuss it here. =)
@ Nvdia: I bet they told your sad 3-4 weeks but he misheard. My old man's awful with stuff like that too. Just the other day they phoned, while I was out, to confirm a delivery of my phone. My dad misheard 3-5pm and they said 3-5 days. *sigh*
(NB: I got my phone back today!) -
Now that you mention it, I'm interested in that too. However, I had no idea a blu-ray burner cost that much.
On the other hand, if Panasonic's blu-ray burners are as good as their players (highest industry rating) it should be an excellent buy--cost notwithstanding. -
Well, lets all just wait for zfactor to get the details from his contact
-
Possibly I want to give some credit to my dad though he's not completely scenial yet lol
-
ill post back when he calls me again dont worry
-
When compared to 7200rpm HD? Probably no. However, they are typically faster and definitely more reliable. In addition, they are state-of-the-art, and the future for computer date storage.
By the way, does anyone know if they have any significant improvement on a computer's thermal efficiency? -
X9100 OEMs have Spec Codes of SLB48 or SLGE7.

I chatted a support rep on Intel.com yesterday and learned a couple of things I didn't know about their CPU warranty.
Even if the CPU is OEM they're only covered under Intel's warranty if:
-They are closed box sales. No open/out of box CPU.
-They are purchased from a authorized Intel reseller. CPU purchased from private sales are not covered. i.e. warranties are non-transferable.
-No CPU purchased from an auction site (eBay) will be covered even if it's a closed box purchased from an authorized seller.
-CPU purchases made from overseas will be covered in the U.S. if they meet the above requirements. (this was my original question
)
The rep I spoke to answered with a cut-and-paste reply so I believe it's their standard policy and he wasn't just guessing like AW reps seem to do. -
^^^ correct those are typically intel's warranty terms
-
look at this tool

he thinks a M17x is gonna be 4 inches thick.... -
I guess the only way to tell if the proc from provantage is retail or OEM is to call them.

Aristotelhs2060 Notebook Virtuoso
this is for everyone:
in case you dont know alienware has no records for your order. only dell has so contact a dell representative not an alienware one for order info. this is because the m17x is saled through dell not alienware. i spent too much time and money talking to an alienware representative for 10 minutes and he couldnt find my order. for nothing until i learned this.
i am still waiting for confirmation fo my payment -
"Inspiron knock-off" lol!
Why do people continue to make a fool of themselves in public. -
Maybe he should get off that chair and start lifting some weights :/
-
Its all the mac nuthuggers that are now insecure because AW designed a NICER aluminum laptop
-
The computer looks amazing....and for anyone with the Dinero, they would have some serious fire power. I'd still say sager np5797 is way competitivly priced.
-
Agreed! But other than that, what was his point
-
It is weird that they go out of their way to put down something they know nothing about and isn't even a competitor of the Macbook.
-
lol i agree guys
-
Hello everyone, I stumbled upon NBR about a month ago while researching new AWs and have REALLY enjoyed this thread. Learned quite a bit from you guys. Thanks! First post on here...
Dunno wether to post this here or on the Official Order thread....
Just wanted to say that I ordered the new m17x like 20 mins after it first came out using EPP and I had the same trouble with the nameplate and complete care warranty that some of you had, and have been reading up alot on how to correct it, and have contacted Dell countless times, nobody could really help me....
I hope this might help some of you guys in my boots, i finally contacted an EPP sales specialist named David Bailey and he fixed EVERYTHING. We cancelled my order, got the nameplate and warranty updated, he gave me free overnight shipping b/c of the bug on the site a while ago, AND he added me back up in the queue to where I originally was before I cancelled my first order (which is really important to me). Clauss I think you had this issue too??
I mentioned to him that some people on the forums have had the same problem as I, and he directed me to tell everyone to email him soon b/c this is a common problem I guess. [email protected]
btw, REALLY sorry If i messed up any posting rules, first time here
Thanks again guys! -
Looks like there have been some last-minute design changes...
-
Does this mean OEM is not covered? I'm thinking right now that the x9100 is OEM only. There is no listed "box code" for it.
-
It looks like they used a picture of the older m17x as a placeholder or something, thats definately not the design of the new M17x.
-
I think you mean fool.
Well his name says it all. Just a MAC fanboy. -
^
No, he def meant TOOL! -
Yes. it's just funny because I pulled that picture off Dell's site 2 minutes ago. Everywhere else I've seen it they have the correct image.
-
I think the Mac guy is just screwing with all of you and laughing his arse off at the attention he's getting.
When someone says something idiotic and is mocked for it they tend not to make that mistake again. When they calmly come back for more you should think twice about their motives. -
the logic for arriving at the 4 inch conclusion baffles me... "let's see, the Dell Inspiron 8200 is 1.6 inches thick, and you know the Alienware has to be at least twice as thick... so you're looking at around 4 inches..." xD
-
He must have been thinking of his e-peen....
-
If it's out of the box Intel won't cover it.
You should contact Provantage and find out. -
yes i did sleey0 lol
-
Thanks Tim. Dell has added the CompleteCare option to their EPP site but I believe the customization for the nameplate is still missing.
-
Welcome, hope you stick around awhile.
-
Will Do!
I've been on here basically every night for weeks now,
finally had the guts to sign up!
Thank you for the welcome! -
Why did anyone link that size perspective video? I now feel like killing myself for wasting 5 minutes and 58 seconds.
-
lol i was the same way. Been lurking around for a while.
-
Guess its my misunderstanding, cause im Dutch.
-
Here is a video where you can see the black and the silver in decent lighting.
Not much time spent on outside but kinda helps.

Glad I went with the black.
