well I got the same power pack email this morning
not happy
I havent ordered an EXTRA power pack, but I have seen this excuse before
they have a standard copy and paste for delayed power pack
but the pack is included with the chassis from the supplier, as is the battery
they had better do something to placate me because I am livid.

Here's the e-mail I just received
Hello Brad,
It is nice to hear from you. J
We received the first batch or barebones today; however, your order has not yet hit production. They are probably allocating the parts in the same order they were placed.
I would not be so worried though, we are going to received several batches from now until next week. As soon as the part arrives I will make sure your order gets a priority ticket to ensure shipment by 03/14.
So far I cannot foresee the ESD of 03/14 being affected. If it turns out that way, I will notify you immediately.
Please feel free to contact me at any time
Wtf is with "So far I cannot foresee the ESD of 03/14 being affected. If it turns out that way, I will notify you immediately."??????? What the hell is that supposed to mean. How unclear can someone be? I'm not paying $3000 for her prediction... I'm paying $3000 for her to KNOW these things. -
I dont understand your email either. First they say they got the parts. Then that the parts are not for you. Then that you will not be affected... Hmm... And I'm really hopping the priority ticket is bullsh*t, I mean if ppl ordered their computers one month ago they should have priority I would say. Anyhow, I will call to see if those parts arrived in europe.
PS I ordered the extra charger too -
I've placed my order with Alienware UK/Europe last sunday. I just received an update that mine's already in production. Is my order it likely to experience a setback?
By the way, I'm ordering this all the way from Australia. We have Alienware vendor here too but they've priced theirs way too high! Even with import/custom tax. I'm saving over $1,000AUD! But then again there's that warranty issue....
Anyone else from Australia ordering from UK/Europe? -
-
maybe pre-production like us?
-
@ choey - i'm sure you've read what we have to deal with at the moment.. hopefully for you it won't be the case since a lot of shipment are coming in the following weeks. great job on saving a grandalthough, i heard, ordering from down under is much much faster..
-
or maybe they redirected his order to the australian office and they have the parts? Just a thought
.
PS most likely since he sais he just received an email, I doubt any euro is sleepless night killer in the office now lol, I'm the only stupid guy working at 1.30 am -
This is my order guys...

I've just double checked and my order is in Phase 5: (Production Phase 1 - Assembly). -
either they transfered your order to australia or we dont understand anything anymore lol. First europe is 2.48AM so would be strange that they put you in production now. Second many people in the thread ordered their system more than one month ago and we're all in phase 4 so far. So I would guess that your computer is being build somewhere more close to your home
. Anyway sounds good, you'll get that nice computer in no time
.
-
Sorry for not clarifying but I received my order update early last night which would have been daytime for you guys.
But yeah this does seem a little strange... maybe you are right and my order is being assembled elsewhere... -
based on the email last week, i was also informed that the 15" 1900x1200 display was backordered. i'm in the US, just fyi.
earlier today, i received an email from AW saying that my order in production, or phase 5. when i checked the order status website, it also shows that my order status is in phase 5.
let's c how it goes. -
I did order it one month ago.... I ordered the notebook on Feb. 12th -
Hi guys, I have a question.
I ordered my m15x on 4th March, used bank transfer. Today I made my transfer, they should get their money on Monday. And i'm wondering why i'm still in phase 1?
Phase 1: (Order Confirmation)
Your order has been received and is awaiting order confirmation. As part of our security procedures, all orders must be confirmed before they can be processed.
Shouldn't i be on phase 2?
Phase 2: (Billing/Finance)
Your order has been validated and is waiting payment processing. While in this stage we are confirming any credit card and/or payment information for security purposes. Please understand that this phase is necessary as it will protect you the customer from any fraudulent transactions. We observe very strict security guidelines and hope you will appreciate our efforts. Note: Your method of payment and other factors may influence how quickly we can build your PC.
Or do i need to call them and confirm my order? -
ps: online order status is very unreliable cause they don't instantly change your status.. calling them is the best way to find out. -
Ive had enough with this, im going to cancel my order. Alienware have had my money for nearly a month, and im nowhere near getting my product.
-
Ok, thanks, I think I'm getting to nervous after ordering it
. I'll just wait till monday when the money will be in their bank.
EDIT: At Mwatkins7 : Phase 4 ? Everyone stps at phase 4, they should resupply faster... -
-
I ordered mine on 4th March, and am in Phase 2. I think it's pretty shocking that those of you who ordered a month ago are still in pahse 4. Perhaps we should all do what a earlier poster suggested and all write in threatening to cancel if the situation doesn;t improve drastically soon, or we are not, at least, compensated in some way. If enough people do it, it might make a difference.
-
-
I only ordered on the 4th so I donlt really have any cause to complain yet - but you guys have been kept waiting a month and with no clear idea, even, of how much longer you'll have to wait. If it's true that no one in UK has an M15x yet, then there must be quite a few of you in the same position. Worth a try.
-
Yea i know, but i ordered the laptop verging on a month ago, and for them to have over £1,500 for a month and for me not to receive an item, just is not good enough. Ive really had enough with alienware, ive emailed them a few times demanding some sort of compensation, or i shall retract my order. Which they have no offered me any, When i ring up to cancel my order i will ask them one final time to offer me some sort of compenation, if not then it shall be cancelled.
Considering the amount of problems ive heard about the m15x too, and with the amount they have to built in a short space of time 'when they get the parts' just doesnt work out. Its like 2+2=5, just doesnt happen. For that sort of money, i expect to get a top quality product that is well built and ' Good Customer Service' -
I was suggesting earlier to write a common letter so if you guys are up to it we can give it a try. I already sent them a somewhat critical letter and had no answer yet but we can try to make up a common one and then each of us sends it to order_status and customer_support and see what that gives us
.
-
I finally cancelled my order, the guy tried his best to stop me from cancelling it - saying that the laptop will finally be going into building next week. Which i replied with, its been way to long, im taking my custom elsewhere. Which he replied with "i completely understand". It was a simple process, he sounded quite fed up, a lot of people might be cancelling their orders too. It sure it'll be worth the wait, but i dont like the thought of if im spending that much money that it might be rushed when being built with the backlog of orders they must have now. I might wait until the full black version comes out
-
@mwatkins7 - so full refund then?
-
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
go on then mwatkins7 what are you getting instead
I am currently mulling the IN STOCK novatech T9300 4gig ram geforce 8800 clevo @ £1500!!! and it runs XP!!! -
Im looking into the sony laptops SZ probably, something more portable. Yes full refund.
I have sent them 3 critical emails. No response yet from either of them, first one was sent about 5days ago. This caused me to cancel my order. -
After sending this:
-
hmm what would you think, when I ordered my m15x, there was still the option for the 9 cell battery. So I took that. This option has been gone for quite a while now, but it shouldn't really be a reason for further delay right? Or would you think that they will use this as another excuse to delay it
-
Gratz mwatkins7! I hope I'll gather the courage to say goodbye by begining of next week if there's no improvement from their part. I mean I'm not even buying the computer for myself, I'm getting it for a present and they still manage to piss me off. After 3 weeks of emails and calls they finally sent me today an ansewer that sounded something like:
unfortunately we're experiencing some supply issues due to the huge demand on the m15x. etc
How can they be so ** to tell me this. I ordered this computer in the first 24 hours since it launched and they are telling me that my computer didn't start to be built due to demand? I wish they'd have the nerve to say they didn't have any parts on stock when we ordered. They left me without words....
Anyways tomorrow is calling time and Monday is canceling the order time! -
@ ioaniro - a present??!!
damn.. talk about giving an awesome gift.
i'd love to see the reaction on their face when they open your present..
anyway, same goes for me too.. i give it at most, by wednesday.. if i'm not in production phase, cancel time.. i've already enquired about a desktop.i want to cancel on them so bad just for spite.. so last chance for them.
i agree with everything you said.. i ordered 2 days after they offered it on the website.. so, the excuse of too much demand is not acceptable. -
Honestly.... I am no longer going to do business with Alienware. There is no possible way they would have my notebook out by the 14th like the supervisor promised. Honestly - If they get the parts on the 10th, and ship it out on the 13th.. that's alot of RUSH into building a notebook and personally I would rather not have a notebook that took 5 minutes to build and put together from some cuban in a sweat shop.... That's exactly why their notebooks come in such crap condition is because they take 2 months to wait for parts and then 1 day to build 3000 notebooks. Honestly, after all this I now know that alienware is not the way to go. I will make the switch from portability to Power tonight and cancel my m15x and start my order on my dell m1730.
I've heard no problems with the dell m1730, it lights up and looks great in the dark. Not only that but it has 2 8800gtx's, can run windows xp, and when more games come out with SLI technology.... the m1730 will be better then some of the top desktops. Screw alienware - It's all garbage honestly.
Good luck to anyone who sticks with their purchase. Hopefully alienware comes out with new drivers for the 8800gtx in vista... because right now those drivers suck and make the card not worth its price.
Edit: Just so some of you know... (which some of you might remember) I DID cancel my order about a week ago. The sales agents like to keep you on the phone and they'll say "oh but your notebook is about to be built" "oh you should wait it will be in production monday." I waited until monday - And it's now been another 10 days and I still am in phase F*ING 2 from what the website says and phase 4 from what they say on the phone. Honestly - If you call to cancel don't buy into the "oh but wait! it's being built right now" bull crap. They said that to me and 10 days later i'm in the same phase dealing with the same stupidity. -
.
-
I am standing before the same choice: I`ll depart for Europe today. Wanted to pick up my M15X before returning to Japan. Now this isn`t going to happen. Therefore I`ll cancel my order as well.
I think I`ll go for the 1730 too. My main purpose for the Nb is to game. Don`t want to wait till end of April and than pay another 400bucks for insured shipping and tax. No way.
Only thing that naggs me is the fact that Dell and AW are basicly the same company...lol
btw: In Japan the XPS 1730 costs as much as the m15x in Europe. doublelol. -
Yea, my main purpose for the notebook is gaming also. It would have been nice to be able to take the notebook places... but now that I think about it ... I probably wouldn't have taken the m15x anywhere. It would have been distracting in class.
The m1730 has a bigger screen and two video cards. It also doesn't have heating issues and can run on windows XP. Also, it wont take them 2 years to build the notebook and ship it. It will only take about a week. -
If you only want a machine for gaming, and aren't bothered about portability, why not just build a nut busting desktop and save money, or spend the same money and build a desktop that's better than the Solar System.
-
Hmm... this is the new replay I got from their CS. I'll try to call them and hope the guy is wrong or i'm joining the dropout club...
Alienware has experienced a supply issue with its vendor on the AREA-51 M15X 15" WUXGA & AREA-51 M15X 15" WXGA. These are currently on a long delivery time, estimated delivery date to Alienware is the end of March or beginning of April. -
thanks for the info ioaniro.. keep us posted. -
You from the UK/Europe ioaniro? I got told all my parts were coming in on the 10th. If they don't, and it does go to the end of March, I too will drop out. That's £2,332 ($4607) they're not having just through being plain rude and not keeping me updated.
-
. I saw that US also has delivery problems but they were in the order of weeks not months...
-
When did you order mate?
Also if you give them a call, ask them why some people from Europe have 10th as their date of going into production, while you don't. I'll do same and ask why some people are being told end of March.
Let's see if the answers match up. -
If it's true, I definitely will join your club. £3,355 for a product that you never know when you have it. It's crazy.

I got the same email telling me end of march early april
so they will have had my £1550 for 2 months before they get the parts
they can then take 60 days to pay their suppliers
so that £1550 with 4 month's interest in their bank, do that on a few hundred orders and with some even more depending on spec, and they get nice extra profit.
I actually feel that they never had the intention of supplying before April
watching other announcements from other companies with releases expected in late spring early summer.
Love to know what HP/Voodoo has around the corner. -
Talked to a sales rep few minutes ago. Unfortunately it doesn't look very promising. Told me that they would get more detailed information on monday and that it looked like they would get the missing parts not earlier than at the end of march. I asked her how she could explain me such a delay and she was like 'yes it's a new notebook and we have such a high demand bla bla'. I mean really they don't even have enough components to build one single laptop for the european market. Told me then that the allegedly have different suppliers for north america and thats why they don't have such delays over there. All in all looks just like a complete failure of their management.
-
So why are some of us getting end of March to early April, and other 10th of March? When did you order BOFH? You should ask them why some people are being given the 10th of March, while you are not. Mostly just to vent, but also because I'd be interested if the 10th of March thing is just something to keep me interested that little bit longer?
-
The demand has NOTHING to do with it if no-one here has there laptop yet. If ONE person ordered, that person would still have the same wait. So what kind of excuse is that?
-
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
Well I ordered 4th Feb, with a ship estimate of 5th march, which I thought then was a little far fetched and expected it sooner.
People keep getting differing stories about parts, which just dont add up.
I also had the "story" about different suppliers of parts to the US.
I am sorry but that is just a complete lie. Dell and Alienware last year secured a massive contract to be supplied directly from Quanta, 1million chassis order was the headline.
The chassis includes motherboard, screen, battery enclosure (but most likely with cells), and power supply, even though a 3rd party one will suffice, as long as the wattage is enough 120w I think the Clevo one is.
so they split this one package they receive down into separate parts and spread the excuses out over a few weeks.
I have pretty much given them an ultimatum, If I have to wait any longer for this machine, they have to recompense me for my trouble, and the fact that the buyer of my current laptop will go elsewhere, and it will continue to devalue.
plus I am paying interest on my credit card and have nothing to show for the purchase! that hurts. -
Ok, just got off the phone with them. The beginning of april was confirmed and this is when they will probably receive the missing parts. I have specifically asked for the 10th of march date given to some of us and the answer of the first CS girl I talked to was that april is the real date and that 10th is off. I have also spoken to a 2nd guy (that was supposed to know more I guess) that told me that they have received the parts but that the parts were not at AW standards so they have been shipped back to the suppliers and this is what created the April delay. I'm pretty sure that was a lie but at this point I don't care so much anymore. I have written a long complain email and forward it to the 3 addresses of support and feedback and I will wait for the answer to that email until I decide to cancel the order.
AW europe = worst experience I had in a very long time. I'm starting to wonder if you have a problem with your system will they be as bad as this? -
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
I have spoken to them this lunchtime.
They are not prepared to compensate for the delay in any way.
So I said I will have to cancel.
they didnt even try to dissuade me from cancelling.
there is something rotten at AW! -
.
/AW europe sucks!
