Right , rang up, all the hardware is there, and will move swiftly to testing apparantly now. I asked for the line manager/techies to confirm the screen lights. I was told it wasnt featured in the Europe models it was only a promotion. Leveling meaning there was problems and they took them out probably. Maybe they will physically be there. If you want to know technical stuff theres no point talking to any finance/sales support you need to ask for the info from the depot.

Now half these things they do have, but it will say theres a delay on the site beacause by the time they have got through even 50% of the back-logged orders it will be out of stock again. So the early orders like mine who havent been amended or changed since the original order are the only ones who stand a chance of getting it soon
Something worth thinking about guys is apparantly whole systems might be ready to be built but willbe held back due to accessories. SO obviously if it was the AC theres no way around but if u ordered headphones, software anything like that then maybe dumping that off your order would put you through faster as it would trigger 100% of the required inventory being there. Thats only an opinion though. -
Well yours has been amended if you have an X9000. I ordered mine on the 13th.

I'm thinking now... since they said that they didn't have the AC adaptors it might be possible that they got only the UK special ones and this is why I'm stuck in 4th phase? I'm waiting for 2 normal euro ones (ordered 2 from the start).

Hi guys just off the phone with AW, they are saying the AC adptors are in stock on the 28th march
I asked about my smart bay battery.
He told me that mine was already in my inventory(in stock) but they dont know when the next lot will come in,
Also said that the screen will have the LCD around it, But its only very thin
Shall i take whatever he said with apinch of salt ? -
I think the lights thing is the same confusion they had with the first US shipments. The lights are on but you need the patch to activate them. I will not be putting the patch anyway

i was told by the depot that even if your short of the AC adaptor your laptop will go into production and go through the testing phase and will only be delayed if the accessories are not avaiable t the time of packing/shipment

well thats another lie, because they said in a phone call I made that the machine would only go into production once they had all the parts
especially as a delay was the power pack BOOOO!
dont take anything they say seriously , they are just running the circle of excuses -
hmmm, who knows whats going on but ive been told 100% by USA support connecting to the "depot" and direct through to the European line that im defintly well into production even though most of UK is backlogged. Just wandering if there are any other phase 5ers out there

I placed my order the day the laptop came available but my payment didn't go through til around the 15th. I just hope that i wont be stuck in phase 5 for multiple weeks now.

wll not really, as he said he ordered as soon as available as did i, ignoring the pyment land. And you have ireland based, US and "european" support, depending on what time you ring and how busy they are, i had a problem with refunds done by the "european" finance support so i spoke to the US line to get it sorted by a finance supervisor.
I think its, as they said on the phone, dit will be done in order, one by time of order confirmation and two possibly by current inventory -

Youll have to keep updating any changes in phases or order status. See if yours run along the same path asmine, and there will hopefully be more out there to join in.

im new here, but i also ordered one, payment didnt go through to 27th feb with estimated date of 10th march...yea right, um well im still in phase 4 this is my first, and proberly last alienware, CBA to cancel so ill just wait it out, was a gift anyway, just have to wait a bit longer

Well, just got off the phone to AW.... and i am not happy. The woman on the other end told me that i will be waiting like everyone else for their laptop until the end of April, which would be fair enough if they hadn't told me that it was being built! She said the parts wont be in until later etc. I was too angry to ask why i'm on phase 5 so i sent them an email asking for an explanation. I am so disappointed with all the lies.

since i ordered m15x on 26th Feb
but i required for uk power, and no smartbay battery, but i m stil in phase 4,
i have sent 2 emails 2 ask, but no reply at all
they r too rude -

I am surprised how patient many of you are, I only gave them a month, well saying that if they hadnt told me it was going to be April before the build I may have waited another couple of weeks.
The questions in your minds should now be, do you really want to deal with a company that treats you like that, no-matter how cool the notebook is.
I do hope everything works out for everyone, but questions have to be asked.

...not for me who kept his one !
I thought to cancel it and to choose another model but the issue is that at present time , I didn't find any better other model than this one.
I am happy with my present Laptop ( XPS 1210 ) even if I am looking for a "real " gaming laptop , what the M15X proposes .
Canceling is a choice that I respect ....waiting is another choice I respect more .
The service is one of the beast I had but somewhere I don't put the blame on the animators ....I am still confident to get one of the best actual laptop ...

I'm kinda in the middle, I wanted to cancel and I know AW does not deserve the reputation it has (in europe at least) but then again I'm hoping the laptop will be the best of its time and I was not in a hurry to start with. If they'd have kept me informed constantly and explain the things I'd be happy

i m kind of sad, in jan, i ordered Rock xtreme 770, then one months later, they told me that they were stil waiting for the parts to come, and not sure when they would receive them
so i canceld, then i ordered m15x, now it is in the same situiation now

thats terrible to hear the same kind of service (or lack thereof) from Rock
however I am sure rock would have taken my suggestion on board to maybe upgrade my processor or ram for free because of the wait.
Alienware were not prepared to negotiate, they just expected me to sit there and take it.
I of course respect anyones decision to wait, but if this is an ongoing problem, how on earth are they going to get spares for repairs? -
I have been in Phase 5 for the last 2 weeks. I'm the one who placed ordered from Australia and gone into Phase 5 in one week. Doesn't look like the order status info is correct because I really doubt that it takes this long to build a unit!

well gpzach your third option is Novatech
their x80r pro is £1500, the rock equivalent is over £2k
you can add 2 year warrnty pack to the novatech for about £39
I am currently sat using one, took them 2 working days to deliver
Ordered on a friday got it the following tuesday
plus delivery was only £6

Maybe the reason they are delayed is because AW are fixing the Case cracking, overheating and downclocking issues...
"....the new BIOS is only available if you email [email protected] for a copy. A general release is expected shortly. Until then, however, it looks like all m15x shipments are on hold. Ouch"

nah, they are on hold from before the problems with the heating. I wont be surprised if when we will get the laptops we wont have to update the bios ourselves... Most people ordered on 4th-5th february with estimated delivery end february or first few days of march. There was no heating issue saga at that time and shipments in US where in full blast. They just suck, no need for other explanation

when you were ordering there was a box on the right side of the screen that kept showing you the price. in that box also said your estimated shipping date. you basically just memorize that after you submitted your order.
