The W90 is offering 3 options for GPUs:

    -a single nVidia 9800GS
    -dual ATI 3850s in crossfire
    -dual 4870s in crossfire

Right now the chassis all look to be the same size (even for the 17" LCD) so since there's no mobile version of the single-card 3850x2 it's probably going to use 2 card slots like the M17/Whitebook.

A Dell 18" Studio XPS with a single-card 4850x2 would be a good guess since it wouldn't be direct competition with the Alienware M17 but would compete with HP's HDX 18.

    hm .. dual 3850 ... not 3870 ...

The dual 3850 is still slave and master? Right? And the dual 4870 won't?

May be this is another reason for beeing supported, that the 4870 will fitt in the m17^^ hopefully :)

well ... may be it will fitt ... but it will only work in winter  :D

Dell probably won't be making any XPS models with a high end GPU anymore; they allocated that market to Alienware.

well that kind of sux as i love Dell's Warranty on their XPS line. I guess i'll have to go to the new precision line as i wont stand to NOT have my laptop for a month.

I REALLY WISH Dell would bring in AW's support with their own...

Eventually though Dell is going to have to make an 18.4" entertainment notebook offering to compete with HP, Acer, ASUS, etc. and logic would dictate that that machine is going to belong to the Studio XPS line.

It floats that this mythical Dell notebook could use a single-card 48 50x2 and still coexist along side an M17 if Dell stuck to non-extreme dual and quad core processors. There is enough room in the market that the two machines wouldn't butt heads with each other.

It's all just speculation of course and the rumored OEM could be anybody. Perhaps the single-card crossfire is being developed for the Voodoo Firefly to run in a Qaud Crossfire config.

    We don't know.

It'd be pretty freakin' awesome of it were for Dell, as my SLi 8800GTX's are basicly one board like the ATi solution in the pictures shows... :)

I guess this is the first "LINK" that I've seen confirming anything. Other than the guys here who are 100% guaranteeing that they'll fit, that is. Anyway, the more people saying it's true, the better.

Some are still believing that Vista 32 would be more stable than Vista 64bit^^
    Indeed it isn't :)

As far as I know you will find 64bit drivers when there are 32bit ones ...
I also think every program wich runs on Vista 32 will run on Vista 64

    Right or wrong?

when i use x64 i found only 2-3 programs to not work on x64. all the rest worked or there was a x64 version of it. i also find x64 to be more stable the x86.

I called Rk computers he said it's definately a go. He said pricing will probally be around 250.00 range.each card. He doesn't have a date yet on when they'll be available for upgrades.first they go in notebooks then about month later usually for upgrades.

$250 USD for a 4870? I don't believe it, but if true, Nvidia is just screwed.

    250$?
This would mean ... the "new" m17 @ 4870 would be avalible for the same price as now ... as far as I know the second 3870 costs extra 220€ ~ 250$!

    This would be awesome!

    But ... I am sceptic^^

Normally something new is more expensive^^
Normally new things are more expensive as we expect

Ohjear! But I remembar sb. said, the new way the 4870 is made would make it cheeper than the 3870 ... it was something about nm^^ but I am not quite sure^^

    Would this make sence?

the 250.00 was a guesse by them he said the 3870's were and are 250.So the 3870's will probally go down and 4870's somewhere in that price range.Ati are cheaper he said unlike nvidia who rapes us(my words).Im glad ati is finally competing again .It will help lower prices(hopefully).

yes, that card is still very pricey, but then there aren't a whole lot of people making it...so you can pretty much charge what you want... and they dont have that card in a 9800 series or at least as far as i can tell.
