I was going to say with all the unused border on the m17x they easily could have made the screen almost 2 inches bigger in the same size body if they wanted to.

Would have been cool but looks like its 17 or 17.3

There are no 500M models above GT 555M. GTX 460M, 470M, and 485M aren't getting rebadged.

I don't think there is an alienware conference (or at least no major one). I think theres just gonna be a booth :( but hey, I hope I'm wrong.

I think I'm going to opt out on getting the M17x R3 and get the R2 instead when it gets discounted. The R3 is just looking like a huge disappointment so far... :(

I have it on very good authority (dream i had last night) that they will be releasing the M13x.

According to my source (my subconcious), it will have a similar form factor to the MacBook Air, and come with an i7, 555m, 13.3" IPS screen, 10 hour battery life, and max temps of 60 degrees.

the 555m is actually the secret name for the yet-unreleased gtx999. it slaps the 5870 silly.

A Kia has 4 wheels and windows, doesnt mean it looks like every other laptop !

Imo my macbook screen was a beauty, Open it up and turn it on and almost the entire lid lights up as a screen. or at least it appears that way because its so small. I have to admit I was sorely dissapointed when i first turned on the r2 and realized there was like 40% glass wasted as a border around the screen.

Smaller borders are win win to me.

wow then it would be too awesome indeed... I may even consider it ! I'll admit Ive been kind of lost with the mobile series for nvidia ever since the 8800 ultra and 9800s were a dissapointment.

Yep, I am feeling the same way about the R3. The lack of 16:10 and RGB screen may just be it for me and I may just stay with an R2.

Totally true, I'd actually feel better getting an R2 due to its stability now. I couldn't pass up the 16:10 or it's vintage looks for a little bit more power. I guess I'll just have to wait until they reveal this in the coming days to get the full scoop though, you never know what might be revealed. :radar:

It's not bad, it's just not idea. It loses screen real-estate to the new trend of making screens super-wide. Also, the super-awesome RGB-LED is only made in 16:10, so that might not be an option anymore and that makes people very very sad :(

I'd like to either see a 12.1" screen put in or the M11x's height to be reduced. A 12.1" screen could easily fit in the dimensions of the system.

I'd go for that at the same price as the current M11x. I can totally see it starting at $1,000 with the same video card and a better processor, though.

That would be fine, it wouldn't be my primary computer. As long as it's a Sandy Bridge i3. A Montevina i5 would be fine, too.

I'd be fine with the same 335m and a decent processor. Even an i3-370M would be great. The only thing holding me back from buying an M11X is the processor.

That's one of the two reasons why I sold my M11x R2 (i7 640UM). The CPU was too slow for me and the screen was too small. I'm hoping for a new M15x or an M14x.

That 20155 score that Notebookcheck got for the M17x i7-2720QM HD6970M is from those leaked photos off Chiphell.com. Then in the same chart they've got a Eurocom x8100 with an HD6970M Crossfire score that's only 822 points more a single HD6970M in the same machine.

Notebookcheck really just goes internet dumpster diving for their benchmark scores.

yes I was aware of that possibility, but since you guys are so into leaked figures I thought I should give it a try to see if news have come around, or if that figure from the m17x was already determined to be a crossfire system.

Yay thanks for info, repped. Please Alienware do not dissapoint me!!

    Hope to see;

Slimmer notebooks, M14x, carbon fiber on the M17x, RGBLED continued for M17x and a feature for the M15x, no cheap looking designs.

If any of the above criteria is satisfied I'll be buying one of the three laptop refreshes for sure.

Not the greatest pics but trying to compare... Looks like the lappy is slimmer width-wise? Borders seem thinner on the sides. Screen is 16:9 but could it be the 3d or one of the options available?
