I agree with WaR. Dell has a separate categories for "electronics... and accessories" different from their "laptops" or "desktops" categories. I would guess that the coupon will only apply to the former.

does anyone have any experience in dealing with team blackhawk on buying an alienware? i was just curious if it would be better to try to order through these guys or to just try to get an american rep on the regular epp line. just curious if anyone has ordered through these guys before and if their deals are comparable to a good rep.

 

In my opinion its better just to have these guys call you, because you can call ten times, and get an american once.

 

i kinda figured that was the case. and i guess you could always use the same techniques to try to get a deal with these guys that you would on a regular rep. If you cant get a good deal, just try again a little later. its worth a shot and at least you get a US rep.

 

For what it's worth, I got my deal through a non-US rep.

It really depends. I had a bad experience with an American Rep, but I got really good deals from other reps. For me it seemed like the American reps were done with you after a deal.

well just yesterday i began my quest in ordering and on the third rep yesterday he gave me 20% by following what has been listed in the forum but also having a config to work with and asking for 20% off the bat so you should just run the gambit as i did. i ended up paying 1785 for my system tax included and all .

Same. I was wondering if it's possible to order to another state through one of those mailing forwarding companies that the guys in another thread (How to order from Dell outside USA) talked about and come out cheaper.

The tax's on my 2 diffrent quotes I got where diffrent with the same system, I think that's where they can change the hard numbers alittle. I called today to check on my order, I know I just ordered it. Anyway, I asked why my build date was so far out because of the video cards. The rep put me on hold, came back and gave me a automatic NDB delivery, I love you guys, the information here is great.

I've read here about the great deals you all claim to have gotten from aliwnware reps on the M17x. i'm interested in one but no matter who i call whether it be EPP or normal reps they all stick to the same line that there are no discounts. EPP states no more than the listed epp 10%.

So did i miss something? Or are they just playing hardball. When i referenced you guys the alienware rep claimed you were all exaggerating and offered me no discounts.

CAll a rep, and tell them you would like 20% off right off the bat, be nice about it, lete them know you have freinds that have ordered in the last week and have gotten 20% off.

 

I did that exactly and they basically said that you are full of crap.

Thanks, i got your email. The dell rep i was on the phone with was pretty pissed that i wasnt going to continue to haggle with her. She was real nice but said that no discounts were available. At the same time she was upset that i wasnt giving her a chance to continue trying.

Thats pretty strange to tell someone that there's no deals to be had and then be upset when they pursue another avenue. Whats the point of continuing when she already said no?

She wanted the info you sent me and i politely refused and let her know that i needed to follow up on it. She wanted to know who the rep was.

I called and thier VM was full so i'll call back tomorrow and see if we can make a deal. thanks again for your help. +1 rep for you!

That's good, do not tell other reps, he might get a hard time from his manager. You can email him if you like he responded to me the next day.

 

He did not email me and he did not pick up the phone when I called. So he doesn't treat everyone equally.

 

what i can say is if your not getting anywhere with a rep just simply hang up they might try calling repeatedly but keep trying different reps in the epp sales division. One thing i found that worked for me is always engaging them by using their name and if they don't say their name ask for it. This makes it that much more of a personal connection between you and the rep and makes the process a lot easier. I worked in retail before and from my experience being on a first name basis makes it much more of a friendly environment and follow what flynnaz said about asking for 20% right off even if they ask for your payment and info about it just bring up the fact you want as much of a possible discount which should jog their memory to remember you asked for 20% off at the beginning and from there they may put you on hold but when this happened to me i got a 20% discount. So all i can say just keep trying don't cave into them saying we can only give 10%. I got 20% so you should too since your here asking how to do so as well. gl

I suppose, if i want the $41 off he has to cancel/re-order. I'm thinking of getting 8 gig of ram but man that's an extra $300
