1 Thank you for choosing Dell
For $2,628.02
Which is about 15% off. I couldn't get hold of my previous Rep who gave me 22% off. He doesn't have his own extension number since he works overseas so.. The current rep told me he'll give me a call to see if he can drop another $150 to satisfy my needs.I'm not even aiming for 20% or over anymore. To think about the nightmare I had to go through to order the first one.. Phew..
-
I just got off the phone (2 hours about from SINGLE rep.) Okay before everyone panics and starts reordering. There are 3 things I want to mention. 1. Memory cannot be upgraded to 1333 MHz. It must be kept at 1066 MHz. 2. Hard drive cannot be upgraded or downgraded. I was forced to get 640 GB at 5,400 RPM even when I told them to change to a cheaper 7,200RPM one. 3. It comes with a wireless printer and a wireless mouse (mouse is crap). Now the best deal ever.

All comes out to be $2,570.63 (Including tax. I live in CA so tax is enormous.) compared to $3386.18 with tax JUST for the laptop.
If you are okay with the crappy HDD and 1066 MHz Ram, go for it. I'm planning to buy a SSD and 8GB of ram with the money I saved.
If anyone's interested, yes this time I got a direct extension number and email, shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to give it to you!
Mention Sean and about the offline deal he got. He told me it might not be available by tomorrow so order ASAP.
Oh did I mention not to panic? I'm kidding HURRY UP! -
You'll want to get that contest info off. Against the rules. I made the same mistake.
Er, contact info. -
Thanks for sharing. You just saved A LOT of someone's time!
Even without the crappy mouse and printer, it's a pretty big discount. It has a lot of unnecessary / interesting things (5.4k RPM HD, silly mouse, etc.) but it's a great deal... just out of my budget range.
+1 -
Contest info?
? I'm guessing my rep's information. If it is, he told me to share his information to all my friends and family.
-
-
Ah I see sorry about that. I'll take it off! Thanks!
-
Is it me or did the price on something go down a little? I configured my system I ordered Monday, and it seems less expensive.
Update: I guess it was just me, I forgot about the tax, opps -
Okay for some reason, even with the ridiculous offer I got, I'm having second thoughts. I really have no use for the wireless printer and the mouse. I really want the ram at to be 1333 MHz and Raid 0 Configuration. Yes I'm VERY VERY picky about these stuff. Should I try quoting this to another rep and see if they can price match this in order to get better discount?
-
My deal was $2609.00 total. My specs are in my sig.
-
Obviously there is a mistake or a typo here!
Unless you haven't updated yet.
-
Thank you, good catch
-
Psst... the price you gave above too!
-
Dang, sleep deprived, lol
$2,609.00
Better? -
Phew finally I can leave this thread for a while. Hahaha! Excellent price!
-
@Flynnaz
Wow I was like "six grand on a laptop? that thing must really be the faizian core model we've been hearing about".
@Doublee
No you cant leave yet!
Second thoughts already? If you're as picky as I you won't be satisfied without the absoulte best you can get. If you even think once about changing your mind, that deals not for you. Who needs a crap mouse and spare printer anyways? -
Yeah I know but at the moment, I'm on the budget as the money for the returned laptop is still on the way. I didn't want to wait a while until the money gets here. So I somehow dished out around $2800 but I need at least $100 to live off.. (college student
) So I wanted to drop the price to $2700 and no one is really willing to do that for me at the moment. I sent out an email to my previous rep to see if he can price match it by comparing the prices to the one I ordered just now. I also sent an email to my current rep talking about how my class "requires" these components so I might have to cancel the order and see if he can work something out for me. Everything will be answered by tomorrow!
-
That's a $300.00 upgrade, -
Yeah I know but again I'm picky about it. So I'm trying to keep the 820QM. If I downgrade to 720QM, I won't be satisfied. I'll just wait a bit and talk to few reps before making my final decision.
-
doublee, I feel your pain.
The other offer was great, it's just I wouldn't take it since most of the stuff wasn't useful to me. I'd rather not spend that much extra money on stuff that I don't need at all. The only time I did it, when I bought bunch of stuff from Razer (in fact few days ago I ordered another $10 mouse pad for my sister). But that was due to ridiculous discount - I paid $30 - not a big deal.
I have a printer at home and rarely use it, since I have access to everything in my computer lab room.
i7 820 is good, but for me wasn't worth the huge jump in price. On Dell's web, after i7620/720, you start paying way more for the similar performance increase. I took the cheapest hard drive since I am planning to save for ~60GB SSD. The only thing I could've changed is RAM (1333 instead of 1066) but OK. I didn't get all the fuss with Intel WiFi - I see everyone is taking that one... I'll mostly be using regular wired LAN on m17x so I didn't upgrade. -
So I found this link right here Dell Alienware M11x and you can get a considerable discount on certain links if you don't want to beef up your m11x. expires May 27th.
-
It's official! I canceled my previous order. Gotta wait a while in order to get some more discount. Sigh.. delays delays..

try that and see if you get 17% off. its for an employee's discount i used.
EDIT: nevermind. it doesnt work. i just tried it again on a new order and it said it had already been redeemed. my bad. -
I ended up pulling the trigger and getting the m17x and ended up saving about 18.6% on my laptop after talking to a rep named Wilbert
-
Okay I'm back and for good. I spoke to my rep for 3 days now. I got a better deal this time with the specification I wanted!
The bundle deal still exists so if anyone wants to try getting the deal I got, shoot me a PM and I can give out his information as he strongly suggested for me to tell all my friends and family to call him for the deal. This is what I got this time:

On site price is $2999.00 and I got it for $2357.10. There is a catch before anything. The bundle deal has to come with a wireless mouse and a wireless printer which boosts the price to about ~$100. So the grand total I paid after CA tax (9.25% UGH) was $2665.91. Still not bad when I was about to give up and pay full $2800 with the same spec as above. My grand total before was $2850 with the advanced warranty so I told them to change it to basic warranty so it can bring my final pricing to $2750. Instead it dropped even more than expected. With the money I saved, I'm going to upgrade to Complete warranty once my laptop ships out!
*I was also able to keep the Razer Mamba that I received with my previous laptop. So I guess I can throw that into the deal?*

-
Lucky you had no tax! 9.25% tax left a dent in my wallet
. We both have pretty much 90% same config and ordered on the same day. Let's hope we both get ours before our EDD? haha
-
And it would be nice to get it earlier. But either way I don't mind waiting or having a couple delays also, can possibly get more discounts or some freebies out of it haha.I've canceled 3 different notebook orders so far, in the past 2 months before finally going back to Alienware.
-
Hahaha. I had 2 weeks delay for my 1st M17x and got a Razer Mamba out of them. I was able to still keep it when I returned mine for full refund!
-
-
-
BTW doublee are you ever going to order? -
-
Hey guys what does this mean? Do you have to work at dell to use it or what?
"17% Internal Dell EPP coupon is applicable online only and is stackable with all existing offers.
Expires Friday, January 28, 2011" -
-
well. to tell you the truth. my aunt gave me a discount code for my m11x. i got 17% off. and from hounding different forums i found a 50$ off any purchase over 400$ and a free shipping code. i ended up paying 774.33 for my m11x as it says in my sig.
i think only the free shipping code still works. i posted it a few pages back -
Any advice/coupons for the backpack? About to purchase it I got free shipping already but any other coupons? I am about to use amazon its cheaper. But dell would be best.
Coupons please? -
-
Perhaps a stupid question but is it possible of talking to US sales reps when ordering a machine in Belgium (Europe)? I like the idea that you can stay in touch with 1 and the same sales rep and mail him (heard good things about michael dell for example) when you got problems.
-
EDIT: i didnt see belgium lolol. err refer to comment below by unreal25.
