If I call DELL would they let me change the warranty option I picked, or would I have to cancel and reorder?

Well I was just checking the Alienware site out of curiosity, and it looks like I ordered at the right time. The prices seem to have gone up slightly, because when I ordered, the RGB upgrade was discounted, and it looks like the 5870x2 price went up a bit. My final price (no tax/shipping) came out to $3,133. Now the exact same config is $3,273. I payed $2,594 (tax exempt, shipping waived) which was a just over a 17% discount. Now the same price is a 20%+ discount. Glad I got in when I did. i5, 4GB 1066, Win 7 Ult, N6300, 250GB HDD, 5780x2, blu-ray burner, RGB, and 3 year complete care warranty.

The bundle deal I was talking about earlier, the printer + mouse + laptop, is breakable. I called customer care today and they told me to return the mouse and printer and they will give back the ~$100 as a refund. So basically I got my computer with over 20% discount! Now I'm happy! :D Just heads up for the people that asked me for my rep info.

Anyone have any advice about how to contact a Dell *US* rep? I'm trying to order through EPP but every time I call up Small Biz or Education EPP extensions I get someone from what I guess is the Philippines area, their lack of understanding for the basic syntax of the English language is making even getting a quote difficult.

yea its annoying and you should be getting US reps when going that route but its like every 6th rep you call on that line might be a US rep.

I think the rep i finally got the 20% off from was in the US but unsure still his name was Emil (Cuban/American or Mexican/American from his accent)(there is no other info about this rep at all in this thread(disclaimer))

IMO, try the sales rep at overseas. In my case, all of my US sales rep either ignored me or never even tried giving me discount. However, most of the oversea sales rep were very helpful. I know putting on hold is a pain in the but usually they come back with some delightful news. I've ordered 2 M17x so far and the sales reps that gave me over 20% discount were people with heavy accents :D

Question: I ordered an m17x r2 the other day, and then today i checked dell.ca and they're having a signature sales event for the m17x. So basically for what I ordered i can now get double the hdd (500 gig) and 6 gig of ram as opposed to 4 gig, and I save $50.

Am I able to call up my rep and either cancel and re-order or somehow ask him to send me the upgrades and credit my account $50?

Curses, almost double the price in Canada for those peripherals... The mouse would have been nice for my M15x, but not at full price... Really hating how Dell can't get their act together and coordinate better with Dell Canada so all the deals and products are available at reasonable prices.

I still think it's garbage that Canadian customers can't choose the i7-620M when configuring an M15x... All the Alienware computers are manufactured in the exact same place aren't they? Location of the customer shouldn't matter at all.

There's a "Signature Event" on right now in Canada and I see that I could of had a slightly better laptop for about $300 cheaper then the one I bought! Basically the same specs except 8GB memory instead of 6GB, but I could use the $300 savings to order the i7-620M processor that I originally wanted from eBay!

I've sent an email off to Dell Customer Support Canada, we'll see if they can do anything to accommodate me. Any suggestions?

    My post from another thread:
I've been trying to jump some sales reps through the hoops through EPP and not, most I've managed to squeeze down is $100 off on top of the 10% EPP of a $3000 unit with free shipping/handling and no tax(Go friends/family in Oregon!). Going to be trying Ben like others have said and utilize that $300 off with the 8GB RAM deal ending today and see if I can get a little more from him, because that $300 is already the same as the 10% I'd get off through EPP.

Read through the tips and tricks section, any quick tips from recent experiences on how to go about this? Trying to squeeze a little more off, especially with a $2500 imposed limit on my credit(Can change it, but figure it's a good excuse to squeeze discounts out :p).

    Addendum:
Talked to him and the lowest he's went is only $50 less than the site pricing, that's a whopping savings of 1/54 of the total price. I even manage to get a better deal through EPP than I can with his discount so far. Tough negotiating and bartering. These people are especially tough towards me, can't get anywhere near the discounts I've read about on here. And further talks managed out only $100 more. $150 savings isn't that big either. This is rough business.

M17x with a few customizations in it for topped out RAM, 5870CF, Intel Wireless(Dell wireless sucks), 1200p screen, and a few other small things. Keeping the HD down because I can always take care of that later, plus I've got an external HD if I really needed the space. Working with 80gb now and I manage to use just around 60gb at most with nearly everything I run.

System runs up to $2959.00 altogether currently without tax and shipping(Getting both free) and haggling my way down to $2500 slowly even for a $700 savings altogether almost.

I live in Washington which has the highest tax bracket, but shipped to a family friend down in Oregon for no tax at all.

    i7 720QM, 8GB 133MHZ DDR3 RAM, 5870CF, 1200p screen, 250GB HD, Intel wireless to be exact.

I'm almost down to $700 off after tax. Turning into a major savings. I really stuck with the whole "I have a $2500 imposed limit because I'm closing my bank account in preparation of moving to my college for the fall, so I don't even know when I'll be able to get a debit card again if I tried payments, I really need and want this before I move."

I pretty much said the same thing. "I'm a college student on a budget but in need of a really high end computer. My bank has $2600 limit but my "professor" requires me these spec for the classes I'm taking." I was at $2700 or so and whenever they said make payments, I told them I just can't afford it. I was about to hang up and they gave in and even took off extra $50. :D

    Original price, tax+S&H included: $3194.00
    Final price, tax+S&H included: $2463.10
    Difference of: $730.90

My total discount was what... 23% or more. Epic win.

It's the only real way to handle it, they continuously try to keep you at full price while you can always haggle them further down. I just feel like I ended up getting one of the better deals I've seen and it's an amazing feeling afterward. Only thing that could make it better is to get my laptop today instead of whenever it gets here. They gave it an EDD around June 14, so 2 weeks and a weekend, but a lot of people seemed to get theirs quite a bit faster. I might be calling back about order status and say I need it sooner because I'm moving really soon, just to squeeze out expedited+NBD, but it's a tough call. :p

the eta is never the actual one as i got mine a week early compared to my original eta for my M15X(which is awesome) sadly i bought mine a little bit too early as the 5850 was released just after my 21 day replacement time and I wasn't able to confirm it was GDDR5 until 1-2 weeks after that still.

Going to call dell today about the warranty upgrade and see what price I would have to pay for 3 years advanced. If I can, maybe I´m going to send this back and order a new one this weekend if I can do that. Would get a better system for the same money so why not! Was looking at the Memorial weekend thing, a pretty good deal! Thought I would make this a try (if I can):

    i720qm
    6gb 1333mhz
    1080 wled
    ati 5850
    intel 5300
    250gb
    Advanced warranty 3years

make an offer to the rep for $2000. There are alot of coupons so think it´s possible! What do you guys think .
I´m gonna use 3% DPA, 2% Memorial weekend, $295 Special, $100 coupon, and free shipping ofc! When I say $2000 I mean after taxes and shipping . What do you guys think?

um i was able to get a better deal through EPP (20% off base was 1665, total 1785) even that signature event can beat my price also stacking those is hard the reps won't allow it they force you to go with one major discount and that's it lol. But you can try that way and see how it goes im just informing you of what happened when i tried to stack coupons and such.

I also reentered my system into the online configuration page and it was still more expensive by 220 :D

Nice man! The rep didn´t give me my 3% DPA so they pretty much have to give it to me, otherwise they kinda go against what they promise you :D! It comes out to $2071 with the coupons and and they are stackable, otherwise I wouldn´t be able to see them :).

Anyone know if I can use the giftcard you get for the warranty while making the payment? Wanted to add the orion messanger bag because the two we have at home were too small lol.

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on my system, I just wanted to see what you guys think of this quote from Logan at dell:

    M17x R2 Space Black
    i7 820 Qm Processor
    Windows 7 Professional
    3 year Advanced Warranty
    1 5870 Video card
    Rgb LED screen
    4 Gb Memory
    128 Gb Solid State Drive
    Blu Ray Reader

after taxes the configuration comes out to $3,649 on the website, Logan got me a quote for 3129.17 on the system after taxes. Do you guys think that I should push for more than 14 percent? I read somewhere on here that the more expensive the system the less of a discount they're able to give you which is what makes me reluctant to push for more.

Have you seen the Coupon that is posted on the original post, page 1? Expires at the end of June and is good for $100 off. 14% isn't a bad discount at all. You may also want take that qoute and try throwing it at one of the other EPP reps and try and see if they can beat it. I'm assuming you have it in your email. But other than that it looks pretty good.

If I were you I would get the i7 720 and dual 5870... that is if you do gaming. A processor upgrade is easy down the road. Plus intel will have 940, 840, and 740 cpus coming out soon

Does anyone have a good US Rep they feel like sending me? Can't contact my old one, and the decent one I've been dealing with (after 7 previous reps) seems to think its okay to downgrade components instead of increasing the amount of discount. Thanks in advance!

I've been trien to see how low I can get them on a mx11. You guys seem like experts on the matter tell me if this deal is atleast decent...

    mx11

    su7300
    4gb ram
    7 home premium
    250gb hd
    bluetooth
    1 year service plan

    Subtotal: $901.02
    Shipping & Handling: $0.00
    Tax: $54.07
    Environmental Disposal Fee: $0.00
    Total Price w/Discounts: $955.09

Got them to waive shipping but I can't seem to get a free netbook sleeve thrown in. Is this a good price? Seems like its a little over 100 less than I would pay to order it online etc. I really want the sleeve for free, but I've talked to 5 reps now and they won't budge on it :)
