So I'm considering buying the following:

    Alienware M15x, Lunar Shadow

    Intel® Core™ i5-430M 2.26GHz (2.53GHz Turbo Mode, 3M cache)

    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English

    McAfee SecurityCenter, 30-Day Trial

    15.6-inch WideHD+ 1600x900 (900p) WLED

    4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz

    500GB SATAII 7,200RPM

    1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 5850

    Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)

    Primary - 6-cell (56Watt) Lithium-Ion Battery

    Internal Bluetooth 2.1 Mini-Card - 2.1 Enhanced Data Rate

Internal High-Definition 5.1 Surround Sound Audio

For $1,529.10 CAD including 10% EPP, and was wondering how much lower I could hope to get it?

nice rig and good price that's good for CAD as getting past 10% is hard but give it a try and order on your time.

Well the only real things I'm hoping to get during the ordering process is the free shipping and, if I can swing it, the messenger bag.

I last purchase I made was through a chat sales person, I do not know of any "good" rep, just read the first page to this tread and you will do fine.

I'll second flynnaz' post; Just ordered an M17x-r2 via online chat ... didn't call to speak to any reps. Scored heavy discounts & excellent customer service. These reps didn't want to let my business go so they were willing to pour in whatever necessary. If you don't get that attitude at first, try again, but you will succeed.

This is so bad. I tried 5+ times to get an M17x, and they all told me I'm too young to qualify for any of their financing options. This sucks being 18.

I meant, payment options. What kind of options did he say you had. Cuz, when the guy talked to me, he said: "So, how are you going to pay for this, with a Visa or our financing?" And some other's but I don't remember anymore.

don't know if this was answered and sorry if it has been but is it worth calling in to order the m11x R2 after receiving:

    10% EPP
    $100 Coupon
    Free shipping NBD?

I configured the i7, 4gig, 160g to $952 + tax, wondering if it's worth the trouble? I have no clue how low these reps can go. I followed a lot of this thread early on a few months ago when I was looking at the R1

I just returned from a trip to Fry's Electronics store and was surprised to find the new Alienware M15x on display. :)

It is not listed anywhere on the Fry's.com website ... maybe next week?
For anyone who is interested in a hands-on test drive before buying ... head to Fry's.

I'm a bit confused, is this just product advisory (technically) for the Studio XPS and then you ask for a price quote for the Alienwares instead?

I do not understand what your asking. I think you maen, do you have to start with a XPS and switch to a Alienware to get a discount? I would say it's not nessecery, you could try, wearder things have worked out.

Don't stress out about the payment options ... there are lots of alternatives to DFS - Dell Financial Services. ;)

PayPal just introduced a new service called Bill Me Later that works with PayPal. Take a look at this URL:

I got on chat and said I can't afford it I need it around 2200 what can you do for me? And they offered me that price.

Then a day later my dad was thinking of ordering an m11x so I jumped on chat, got a rep, said I want it cheaper and they gave me 22% off.

I really don't think you have to do anything special just say you want it cheap and if you have the right rep they'll just dock it 20%+ just gotta get the right one.

I've seen several posts about a $50 and $100 coupon. I haven't figured out how you get them though and whether they work with an M17X or just the M11X. Can someone enlighten me? I have an EPP account and will probably purchase a new M17X soon (I bricked my M17 and am waiting on a repair estimate from insurance). I would also appreciate if anyone can throw a charitable US Dell contact number my way as I would love to haggle the price down further.

You need to contact your org's EPP Rep for the actual coupon. Forum rules do not permit sharing of EPP coupons or information on how to obtain them via non-official channels. Also ask your rep on instructions to sign up for EPP promo emails. As I recall, this was a default option however it may have changed.

That's the exact configuration I want to order at a price I can make work! Can you please email me the name of the Rep you dealt with, or at least provide insight as to what you said to them? Thanks!

That's funny. I am my company's EPP rep. As far as the coupon goes, I didn't ask anyone to share one with me....I just wanted to know what the coupon was and how people received them. I can check my email for any EPP coupons that might have come out. But I don't remember seeing any lately.

If anyone has any good rep contacts, I could use the help... I'm trying to buy a laptop that configures online for about 3700 for 3100 after tax. If you have any reps that you've had good experiences with, please send them me their way.

Hey guys. i havn't been around too much lately. i am right on the verge of ordering an M15x, but i am very strapped for time. I work late both today and tomorrow and i would like to order via phone before the end of June if a can.

could anyone tell me how long it would generally take to get a good deal through a phone rep. I just want to judge whether or not i will have time or if i should just wait.

also, if anyone has a good rep that they could send me info for that would help me cut down on my time a little bit, please PM me. If i do not get it ordered before tomorrow, it wouldnt be the end of the world, but since i have a stackable $100 off coupon, id love to be able to use it.

Thanks in advance for any help. cant wait to get my hands on one of these machines.

OK. I may be able to pull that off. If i can get %20 off i would be thrilled. I understand that it is really luck of the draw on getting a good rep quickly. I guess ill just give it a try and see what happens.

I already qualify for the %10 student EPP discount, and im sure I qualify for the %3 DPA discount so i have %13 off right off the bat. If i use that with a $100 off coupon, and get a little extra off the top, i think ill be looking at a pretty good deal

    Thanks tuenkamen

with dpa you can get stuck at 13% fyi imho it limits your total discount don't go for dpa until you've squeezed as much out of the rep before going the dpa route i would try getting 20% first then get the dpa discount for a total of 23%. i didn't want to get dpa discount.

Again thanks for the advice. Ill go for a discount and then bring up the DPA at the end. see if i can add that on top.
