Of course sales can work on the price with you. Will you see a major discount on a new system? Probably not. No reason not to haggle of course. Call them and talk with your MPP rep via your employer. Doesn't hurt to call.

(US Rep; works for Canadians that can pick it up across the border at either a family, friends, or mail holding facility that charges dirt cheap to hold your package) -

do anyone knows if it will work with apple?

Rep saved me almost 400$, however one of the discounts expired a few days ago. You can see what other discounts are available at the time of the call if you're willing to do a little traveling -
Hey guys there was a price drop on Friday maybe Saturday on the Canadian Dell website. m17x r3 was 1599.99 and now it is listed at 1499.99. I ordered on Friday when the price was still1599.99. With upgrades I got to about 2100$ after discount and tax. So I'm here to ask you guys for advice!
Should I ask my dell rep to drop the price? or something else? Maybe ask for a free mouse?
Any options available that do not need me to cancel and make a new order? -
Hey Maynard, I'm looking at the m18x so if at all possible when your rep is available, please let me know. He seems to be nice and I don't mind waiting for a while either.
-
I tried to get the EPP rep to allow me to use my DPA with the AAFES discount but apparently his manager wasnt having it. Ill try again in the morning to see if I can get better results.
-
If you can't afford your CC to be charged a second time while waiting for the refund, I would ask for either a 113$ Dell Gift Card or the 99.99$ M17X Orion Bag, since they technically owe you 100$ + 13% HST
I'm very happy they dropped the price. Now all AW laptops are matched with the US (except for the 599$ R1) and upgrades are even cheaper on our end now too (M14X screen and HD is -25$ less for example), but US still gets far superior discounts (military/farmers/education) in the end, so they win -
I have a great rep who helped me out with my Aurora R3. I was able to bring my config from $3047 (w/o tax) to $2522 (w/o tax) ($525 SAVINGS!). Really wasnt hard either. Just played the "debating between alienware vs." card and said I really want to stick with alienware but I can save "X" $'s for a better config by switching to "X" company. If anyone is interested in his contact info feel free to send me a PM as im sure most the others are inundated with requests.

I'm looking for a Rep to work with on my M17x purchase. I also have an EPP discount available to me. I'm in no huge rush to order so timeline is not important to me.
-
It looks like you paid $500 more for an Alienware case than building one lol
-
PS; thanks for you input but I was more or less sharing my experience saving by contacting a sales rep....no need to troll -
I'm in the process of buying a m14x and I'll have my quote soon. I'll see what discounts I can get and will let you guys know.
-
Hey Voodo could you send me that reps info? I am looking for a new laptop and thought Alienware would be a nice choice. Thanks in advance!
-
Hi Voodo, could you send me your Rep info ? I am looking to buy a M14x. I tried to chat with a few rep but no luck. Thanks.
-
-
I see. Thanks Charismaztex. I will try that out.
-
Hmm. SO far my Dell Representative has only offered me my EPP 8% and free shipping. This is a little surprising because I know they can give more discounts (theres a $50 off coupon online). I was too late to get the Farmers insurance too. But I'll see how my rep replys.
$1274
discounted to
$1,192.75
imo not much of a discount.. yet -
Woah, I received so many PM's for my rep LOL!
Replied to them all
And yea, the Farmer's discount is dead, however some members are receiving alternate deals, such as free printers/scanners, etc. as well as smaller discounts, which is still good, since you can ebay/craigslist the printers/scanners for $. -
has anyone bought a M18x through AAFES, if so, how much was it?
-
Yu just need to register like most other sites. May take a few days as they verify that you are eligible.
The Exchange -
-
plus, this is a just released machine. might take a few weeks before the reps will budget any significant amount -
But now the original rep is going to look into additional deals! yay! -
-
hi all,
new to the site.im jumping in here and i was wondering who are the ones to ask for the biggest rep discounts?if someone could pm me some info that would be great. -
you dont have enough posts for pm'ing. need at least 5 posts.
it seems some people with the better reps are becoming hesitant to hand out their contact info, since some new users get on here, get contact info, and torture the poor reps :/ -
-
I spoke to my rep and the same thing happened. One of the posters on here even put words in my mouth and demanded a 30% discount claiming that I said it could be done to my rep.
Meanwhile I gave no one specific numbers, percentages or any figures of the sort other than saying "he will try to get you the best available rate at the time of the call and potential free accessories if the best rate isn't available", which is all an "if" ...no concrete prices! -
Hi,
Could someone PM their Dell Rep's contact information? I am in the market for a M14x to replace my M11x. I promise not to be rude to their representative. I'm just looking for a better deal than the random reps have been giving me. [ $50 off and free shipping ].
Thank you. -
For the umpteenth time i've seen it written in this thread, you need 10 posts to PM/be PMed
-
Sorry about that. I'll go look for some threads to post on.
-
Hi Gamers,
My xps m14 is dying on me and I am in the market for a m17x R3 or m18X.
I need help finding a good discounts. Can anyone please help me out? Also I live in the US.
Thanks,
newbie gamer -
Ok, I'm really not an expert but...
Find the laptop you want, spec it up online and save the details of the exact laptop you want....
Phone a dell sales representative and give him/her the details of the laptop you want. They'll give you a quote and explain that your budget isn't high enough/you have seen other makes for cheaper/some other way to get price down.
I believe many of the members on here have good sales rep contacts that they'd be happy to PM you with, if they haven't already. They'll usually throw in free shipping/NBD if you plead, at least that's the impression I've gotten from this thread...
I'm in the same situation as yourself, although as I live in the UK, alienware is a lot more expensive
Hope I've been more than a help than hindrance.

Originally about $1400.
I guess I got an alright deal for no coupons or anything. My rep offered discounts on printers and warranty but, I would still have to pay more money so I didn't get any of those. Basically this is how the discounting works according to the rep. The more you spend, the more discount you get.
He just gives you as much discounts he can until he reaches the lowest profit margin he's allowed to sell the product for. So in my case, I tried to buy a vanilla m14x so there wasn't much profit margin to work with, but if any of you guys are going to spend 1500 + you should get a good chunk discounted regardless of whether you have coupons or not. (If your rep is nice. A lot of them won't give you much) Common sense I guess
OH yea, if anybody needs a nice rep and are serious, pm me -
Hello everyone,
I wondered how much of thoses tips apply to Canada.
I've been calling for 2 days, and I can't seem to get a good rep. If I ask for a us or canadian rep (not even sure if that exist...) they say that they can't do that, and if I push a bit more they say ok, but still transfer me to offshores rep...
I'm a bit sick of India at the moment
PS: Sorry for my bad english -
Any advice on how to cut $$ for M17x r3? The taxes are killing me! What if i am calling from another country? I am in asia now but shipping to US. Can i still call a US rep?
-
Voodooi, can you send me your rep details? I am not sure why i can't PM u but i have more than 10 posts.
Can i call for free if i am not in US / Canada? -
I just called Alienware and talked to a rep. Tried to get a discount on the m11x r3 but the lowest she would budge to was $50 off of a $1279.99 system. 4% off, sad =(
-
If you really want to save money you will have to wait for some kind of promotion otherwise they won't cut you much discount. Or be very good at haggling.
-
Hoping to find the right rep that will get me a decent deal on a system with 3 year warranty for a very decent price. Will keep trying. -
Talked to numerous reps and so far only got $50 off..haven't hit a decent one in the bunch.
-
The product is too new to get any discounts was the most common one I heard, that and just silence when I ask is there any way to get the price lower to meet the constraints of my budget.
I actually had reps want to remove items from the machine or make the extended warranty only one year instead of two or three.
I just think many reps are holding back discounts in favor of larger commissions. If they dont cut any off, the bigger their check will be. -
No haters plz, ithink i should got better cpu
ordered may2nd, thank you AAFES.com
