Also seriously everyone...make sure you follow the process I presented to you. Be very specific about what you're looking for, and include name, address (billing and shipping), phone number. This is very important.

Can't be shipped out of the states. Needs to be an address inside the states for billing and shipping.

It's important that you specify every detail about the system you want because it's a pain to have to go in and re-create a quote and go reapply all the discounts.

Please don't waste her time.

I recommend you build the system on the website and go to print summary and email that or screenshot it to her. This is the easiest way to do it and it ensures you get exactly what you want.

As far as I know, it should work. Read somewhere on here that someone tried returning an outlet m17x and were offered $75 to keep it. Never hurts to try...

couldn't find the post for it, but i'll give it a try and see what happens. i did get a BSOD about 10 times day i booted it, but i fixed it after updating all the drivers and such.

Try sending an e-mail with you complete specs,billing and mailing address, ph# and Dell account e-mail address. Call if you like, but she can be tough to get in touch with as she is very busy. You will likely have to call multiple times to get through so just realize that in advance and be patient. You will not likely get through to her until Monday. I can PM you if you do not have all of the contact info as her info should not be posted in the forum. Just let me know.

Looking to buy an alienware laptop for the first time (m17x). Can somebody tell me the rep they used for getting a good discount and details on how to contact them/get the discount? I had a semi-bad experience last time I tried to order an Alienware laptop (about a month ago) which caused me to cancel my order so I would really like to know of a really good rep.

I got a response from her (my original email was sent last Monday), said she was out of the office a few days last week. But she totally borked my request... changed like 4 or 5 of the options from what I originally emailed her.

 

She's going to do that in order to make a profit on it. You can't send her a baseline request and expect a huge discount. The previous rep Jason stated in his message that he will add extra things such as ram, warranty, processor, etc. to keep the profit positive. When I submitted my order to him he added 8gb ram instead of the 4 that I wanted but I asked him for a processor upgrade instead (same price). I also recommend you call her instead...It makes things easier.

 

That doesn't explain her downgrading things like the screen. I asked for a higher resolution screen and she downgraded it to the lower res. The "deal" she sent me was more expensive than the standard retail on the original machine I inquired about. I'm not expecting a "huge discount" just something a little better than retail.

Makes me wonder if she got me mixed up with somebody else...

I had the same problem as Twelvev actually. She downgraded my screen and it ended up being less of a deal then buying it online. Was bummed...

It's a middle-of-the-road M14X. With the options I picked it was probably around $1400 or so retail. I wasn't expecting a 20%-30% discount as I imagine their profit margins on the lower-cost machines aren't as high, but seeing as they regularly give out 15% deals to EPP members, I thought 10-15% would have been reasonable.

 

I am looking to get an M17XR3 with 6990, 4 GB, the i7 2760QM, and a 1600x900 screen. I have EPP and was just looking for a rep interested in helping me get this at a reasonable discount. Might even buy 2 of them if the price is good.

I got my systems a couple days ago...and it is absolutely amazinig....M17xR3....the only dissappointing factor is how the system will throttle when playing some of the newest games, ex crysis2.

And i apologize to those who were not able to get the 25% discount, if it was me i would keep in touch with Amberly until another deal comes along. I saved about $800 and cannot be happier! WAIT FOR A GOOD PRICE!!!!!

BTW with GTX 580 i can play Crysis 2 on Ultra settings!

 

so i'm returning my refurbished m14 due to BSODs and bigfoot wireless issues. however, i was hung up on twice before receiving assistance from a returns agent. BUT, what i would like to confirm is that the agent first offered me $25 to keep the laptop and then offered me $100 to keep the laptop. just something to keep in mind when trying to save $$$...especially the refurbished models.

 

Tried Amberly and she did nothing for me. Hope others have better luck.
