waiting is the best option, by far. I was looking to buy in april, ended up buying in late july due to the 25% off......ended up getting FHD, 6990m, 500gb hybrid, 1 yr accidental for $1520....talk about a steal.

I can let you have my rep's name, but tbh the price I got was mainly due to a 25% off code that has now expired and some haggling on top of that (free extra year warranty, nbd shipping etc) and telling them what I wanted to pay for it!

Anyone ever try to haggle a deal from Dell Outlet? Is that possible? Or does this only apply to new machines?

omg this is the best thread ever, wish I read it before ordering, DR, do you think %20 percent in total discount is good, or did I waste my money? :(

You are the only person that can really answer this question. Are you happy with your purchase? Do you feel you got everything you wanted and spent what you felt was an appropriate amount for it? Every person has their own mindset as to what is a good price etc. Ultimately, the question is, can you sleep comfortably knowing you got an awesome machine for the price you are comfortable with?

I tried to get a good quote from a US based rep and really had little to no luck with getting anything past about an additional $40 off the online price. Maybe you really need to have a special promotion going, or it isn't going to get you far.

you just need to get the right rep, call and ask for the EPP people [if you're a student or work for a company that offers a discount] my rep got me another $800 or so off my price [even with the 15% promotion] but she was also able to do this because i put part of my purchase on a dell credit card thing [$400] which isn't really much anyways. but you just need to get the right person, it took me 5 different calls to get the price i wanted, just pick a budget [within reason] and stick to it.

Dell also is doing a $75 free egiftcard for every $400 egiftcard purchase. I just bought $2000 worth, made $375 in egiftcard, got the 25% off coupon, and the 4% eBate deal... I'll be shopping real soon...

And I'm only in the US for a short while so some of the deals that are there is kinda hard for me to get. And I'm happy with the deal

Hi guys, I'm from the Philippines and I'll be ordering an alienware anytime soon. My uncle in Virginia will be making the purchase. When I told him that he can haggle over the phone he said that that's not possible. Maybe he'd change he's mind if I can refer him to someone. If i was there I would've done it myself and as it is international calls would've voided the discount if I do get them. Can anyone pm me contact info of the good agents(I read that you can't post them). Help would be greatly appreciated! If i go over $1000 i'd probably be eating biscuits for one week -_-

Still no reply.. I have another question. About the dell gift card. can i buy 2 $400 card and consolidate all of it including the free 2 $75 cards for a total $950 value and then use it to by the alienware unit I like and just pay through credit card if I go over $950? If this is indeed possible how long will it take to buy and consolidate card?

I couldn't get that coupon code to work, it said "We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered has already expired or has reached the maximum redemption limit." There is still a $50 off coupon on all Alienware laptops available in their coupon corner, but nothing new yet.

I'm planning on getting an m14x and have been price shopping for a while now. Big props for this whole thread, as I read through every page of it to help research my upcoming purchase. I contacted Dell through their 24/7 online chat, and tried to haggle them down a little bit on the price (the m14x I've configured will be $1294, $1244 with the $50 coupon). The rep I spoke to said that they are emailing their customers the Black Friday deal information when they receive it. He said they probably wouldn't be receiving them until Friday morning.

Heh, well that would explain that then! Thanks. I get all messed up because I work midnights, I was like "it -is- 11/24!", but of course it was early morning 11/24 ;)

I wonder if it'll be stackable with the $50 off. *crosses fingers*

Edit: That $100 coupon code works. It is not stackable with the $50 coupon.

I just ordered an alienware M18X 3 days ago:

    429-15600 Slot Load Fixed Blu-ray BD-ROM / DVD + /-RW Combo Drive

    555-13963 Killer? Wireless-N 1103 a/g/n 3x3 MIMO for Gaming & Video

Originally I ordered dual Radeon 6990M CrossfireX (normal price: around $4.1k and got 15% discount voucher=$650, total price=$3,450) but the following day they confirmed that they dont have Radeon 6990M CrossfireX and offered dual GTX 580M SLi instead without any additional price. I was lucky because the site charges extra $600 (not sure) for dual GTX 580M SLi and I got it for free :)

So I suggest you get it soon.

Ive having trouble with this as well, ive followed the directions and went to dell.com/saveology and entered my code but wont work for me, might have to end up calling a rep instead.

UPDATE - I called Dell and they said that my code does not show up in their system and I would need to contact Saveology to get a new coupon code. This may be your problem as well.

The 25% coupon worked for me but I had to buy the M14x that came with the orion messanger bag which started at $1470.42. After customizing it brought the price to $1694.00 and the coupons brought the price to $1217.08 before taxes.
