This works out to 270$ less on the build I ordered 2 weeks ago... Time to call my rep

 

Just for fun I called them and this Brandon dude wanted to charge more than the online price after discounts. He said he'd give me a $70 giftcard and that was pushing it. What a lousy rep!

 

Yea its a great deal although I saved about $400 more than that with my rep. If you guys call a rep, make sure they use the discounted price as the STARTING price before haggling. You should be able to get a killer deal this week.

 

When does the deal end??

 

So far no one wants to work with me from Alienware. Hopefully Rev's guys can help.

 

Ive noticed that deals run from Friday-friday (every 2 weeks or so). I know this because I placed my order on a friday and the deal changed that day too.

 

My order got delayed from being shipped tomorrow to being pushed back to the 26th. Is there any way to get something from this delay like discounts or gift cards, etc?

 

Most likely not considering its an estimated delivery date.

 

OblastSRT4 no luck getting ahold of your agent today must be off day so i contacted and didnt get any wiggle room on price beyond the $100 off and $200 gc, upgraded to 2 day ship but going to hold out and try again tomorrow to see if i can get a chunck slashed off.

 

So will this deal end on the 27th of friday and so if i want to order with the deal i need to order on the 26th?

I need to know as my credit card comes around the sat 28th and so would i have to order with rep on thursday get her to email me the deal - Which is valid for __Days? And then ring up rep and order and pay on sat?

Just talked to another rep, and yeah giving me the deal your website has is not working with me. The bs that these reps tell me on why they can't lower the price is annoying! Oh we can't give you a $2k laptop for $1400. Why not? The laptop is NOT worth $2k. Unless someone can tell me that Alienware chassis are now indestructible, they are no better than any other laptop. Guess I have to look for another computer company altogether.

 

i ordered mine on 7/9... it's about ship out within 24hours, fedex tracking already assigned i called anyway to see what i could do

being that i'm paying with my dell account, i called dell financial services to explain about the new alienware discounts being offered. i asked if there was anything they could do short of me cancelling/returning my order so i could place a new one with the discount. dell rep put me on hold a few times but in the end offered to credit $150 to my dell acct when the invoice is sent out. not bad. better than nothing

My M14x just shipped today, I'm so happy. I talked to four different reps, and had some difference experiences. One was chill and offered book price. One didn't offer me anything, but kept calling back asking me if I was ready to buy and if he could help me with anything. Laura was nice too, and offered me a fair amount off, but I couldn't use the $100 off code along with it. Then I met Stephen through Rev whom struck a cord with me and sealed the deal.

Overall...I saved around...$300 or so.

 

FYI!!!!

DELL HAS A SALE FOR M14X R2 and M17X R4 up to 15% off if you spend 2699.00 but you can also use dell purchase program and save some more as well as being a student get an xbox i dont think they are offering giftcard anymore or the 5% giftcard but now is a good time to buy for those of you on the fence.

Thought i would let you guys know and pass on the saving.

First time post. Long time lurker. Please don't judge too quickly.

I've always wanted an Alienware from the first time I saw a commercial on TV. What drew me at first was this "Elite" computer, second was the lights. I had always been stuck with slow "family" desktops that are still using XP. I now wish to have my first "big" purchase as an adult, a M14x.

The games I will play on the M14x will probably be only Minecraft, Arma II (DayZ), MW3 or BF3. It'll also be used for browsing and school work (I have a copy of Office so I don't need to buy it).

The set-up I have is all basic except for the LCD screen which, from the forums, I have learned to upgrade to 900x1600. So this brings the price to $1174. $1247 is the final price with tax (I live in MA), I think since I just added the sales tax of MA of the M14x.

I currently have $355 but am getting about $25 every week. My mother says I should wait for a sale but the $100 coupon doesn't work anymore. What is a realistic discount I can get for $1247 M14x, if any. I'd love a $100 dollar discount but that's just what I think would be great. I don't know if the representatives would discount a laptop that is already pretty cheap for a gaming laptop. I strongly dislike using the touchpad so a Tactx Mouse would be a nice throw in.

So did they take away the M17x from the 15% off? I click it and it says this item is no longer available. I've also noticed it cannot be customized like before. Seems to be set configurations. Hopefully this changes in the next week or two when I'm ready to order.

 

Well, this sorta sucks. I ordered my m17x on the 4th and was supposed to have received my laptop on the 20th and it got delayed to the 26th. I called and asked about this and they said they'd expedite it and just now I received and e-mail saying that my laptop is delayed a 2nd time for the 1st of August. Gee, expediting seems to have changed its meaning, it must have been opposite day when I called about the first delay....

 

Agh, I'm sad. I ordered last Wednesday, and it shipped on Monday. Fedex arrived at my door today but no one opened so they're coming back tomorrow TT_TT I'm so surprised it got here in 2 days even though i got normal shipping.

just wondering. i heard that when dell ships my alienware m17 that it will arive earlier than the estimated date. Will it tell you exactly what day it will be shipping to you?

also did u guys have to sign something in order to receive your laptop? i want to be there when my laptop comes

 

It very well could. It depends on parts availability and how many orders they have. When I ordered my M17x R3 almost a year ago, it beat the EDD by about a week and a half. When I ordered the M18x R2, it beat the EDD by a day or so. As far as exact dates.. well, they are never set in stone. They are estimated dates, after all. When your laptop ships, you will be notified via email and a tracking number will be posted. From there, the courier will give you an estimate on the arrival.

Yup, I'm pretty sure you will always have to sign for it unless you arrange otherwise with the courier.

Also, I would note that your sales rep usually has more detailed info than the website; mine kept me updated on the process as it went along. Good luck with your order!

 

There is usually some form of tracking for your shipment depending on the courier. Also as Optimistic Prime says some (very few) reps will keep you updated of the status. When the parcel arrives you have to sign for it on an electronic device with a touchpen.

I got mine a week early! I was supposed to get it on 8/3/12 and got it on 7/27/12! So definitely possible to get it early.

 

I noticed today that AW is offering a % discount on certain notebooks depending on the model and amount spent. Does anyone know if this discount is offered with other things I've seen people mention, such as the 5% card for Dell Advantage, etc.? I have been eyeing up an AW laptop for a while, and this may finally push me to spring for one.

I wish I had seen this earlier. I didn't phone in my order. If I play my cards right though the 680M may show up during my 21-day window and I might be able to haggle for some $$$ credit when I tell them I want to return it to get the upgraded card. I did it before way back when the 1080p displays were out of stock and they came back right after I got my new laptop.
