Alienware is running a 8 hour flash sale right now on the Alienware notebooks. $500 off the price on the Alienware 18.

Alienware 14 and 17 also have big discounts right now!

Go get it while its still running!!!

EDIT: Seems to be only for students :/
EDIT2: They are tricking us. RAM have been lowered to 4700MQ (instead of 4800MQ) and 8GB RAM instead of 16GB RAM.
Maybe not saving so much money after all. Sneaky!

Students buy select Dell PCs, get a $200 promo eGift card* | Dell

Does anyone here having trouble ordering AW at this time? It seems a few of my friends are also limited to the laptop configuration (especially the 780M) as Dell only offers them at the highest model. How can any of you guys order AW with Nvidia 780M with Intel 4700M? Maybe someone can refer their Dell rep to me? :D :D

A lot of the orders you see people talking about are from people who ordered when it launched or during July...Late July here...

Dell didn't have as much restrictions with configs back then, though there was still some base configurations, supposedly to speed up build time so if you, say wanted the blu-ray drive, you're sorta forced to get 16GB of RAM, etc...

Wow that's a real downer for me... Do you guys think that buying from a reseller is a good idea? I've found several reseller but I'm not sure which one is trusted... Here are all the websites:

Gaming Laptops | PowerNotebooks.com™ - Custom Gaming Laptops | Custom Built Notebooks

HIDevolution.com - Specializing in customized computers, electronics, and mobile devices for gamers and professionals

Customized Upgrades for your brand new laptops installed and checked prior to delivery performed by Computer Upgrade King

Does anyone have experience buying from any of these websites?

Just an FYI, today is the last day for the 12 months no interest financing through DFS.

and also, the $300 egift card promotion (and presumably the 5% advantage account egiftcard too) stacks with EPP purchases but only if you refuse the $200 EPP Egiftcard and instead opt for a larger discount. There must be some kind of glitch in the matrix for the $300 promo to then be applied.

I managed a base 11.25% discount, overnight shipping and the $300 giftcard (and hopefully the $125 egift card from advantage) on a AW14.

you do the math, if you want to count the giftcards as cash(which I'll use for a new 802.11ac router to go along with my ac wireless card) , that's approaching 25%.

I have not bought from the websites, but the last link you sent "Computer Upgrade King", I have bought an AW14 from him on Amazon.com, he also has a storefront on ebay. And if you wanted something more customized than ALL of the options he has, I'm sure he'd do it for you. Nothing is wrong with the computer, to my knowledge; however, I don't know if hes the best choice or not (HIDevolution sounds more professional?), just sharing my experience =). The only thing I don't like about ordering from a reseller is he said the warranty is through him. So I decided to buy my AW18 through dell. If your tech savvy, I guess you can fix it yourself if it takes a crap?

    Oh, that sucks.

Alienware called yesterday and they told me they'd give me a "good discount," but did not mention the price. They were about to charge my card, but before they had the chance, I asked and they were going to charge me $4,611.86 for an AW17, LOL. At that price I can get a maxed out AW18...I don't see how that includes a good discount.

I'm hoping for more coupon deals this fall.

Were you the one buying 2 machines based on the discount?

Yeah...I'd personally wait for coupons instead...less time consuming and less trouble...

Oh yeah, for people who recently bought, how many days after delivery of the machine did it take for you to get your e-gift card?

Next major coupon is Black Friday I think.

The 17% off was a promotion to get school kids to buy Alienware. The 10-30% was probably a one time deal.

Now its basically stupid coupons like $50 off. Seriously, why even bother!?

@J.Dre: Very sneaky sale people working for Dell. I had several times where they tried the same crap on me. Indeed. Gotta pay attention to the quotes they are sending you.

They're tough to crack this time. Policy must be strictly enforced this year. I've been speaking with different representatives every day for the past few days and haven't been able to get more than 2% off.

Kind of sad compared to only a few weeks ago...

The managers are hiding in the break rooms! Take their donuts hostage until they get out here and authorize deals!

In the US at least, the 10-20-30% was definitely not a one time thing. This is not to say that Dell could cancel ever offering it again, but in Apr this year or so, I had a 20% off coupon which I speced a M18x r2 with. With the laptop being on sale to begin with another coupon, I think my total price came to about 27% off or so...

I called and spoke to a rep and tried to get him to offer me 30% since some people had them, but no go so I told him I'd just wait since next gen was coming already.

The thing with these deals is that they occur rather frequently actually, you just have to watch it like a hawk though...

The reps are really hit or miss so I'd still say unless someone can share a rep they got a great deal from, it's just too time consuming for me.

Tried my hand for the first time at haggling with Dell reps for an Alienware 17. Trying to put all the good tips I got here to good use, so thanks guys.

For now I got a quote for AW17 with 4700, 16gb ram, 780m, fullhd display + extended 3yrs premium warranty for the equivalent of 2600 dollars (prices are higher here in Europe, though) instead of the website price of 3000 dollars. I'm wondering if I can do better with some other reps but I don't want to push it.

Dell gift card is your best friend. I had brought $3200 dollars of dell gift card and for every $400.00 I get 75.00 dell promotional gift card.
With the $600.00 dell promotional gift card I brought 5 xbox 360 Grand theft auto V and 5 ps3 grand theft auto 5 with 10% off each game and free shipping and sold 8 of it on craiglists for 50.00 a piece and kept 2 one for my son and one for my nephew.
Made $400 cash and I also will get $25.00 promotional gift card per grand theft auto V game purchased. So be getting $ 200 total in promotional gift card back.

I'll post what I posted in the alienware 17 forum

I ordered a new Alienware 17 bout a week ago and got it 600 dollars off. From 2740 (2910 with tax) to 2130 (2310) with tax and couldnt be happier. My specs are:

    Internal Performance Components:
    Processor: 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4800MQ processor (6MB Cache, up to 3.7GHz)
    Memory: 16GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHz
    Hard Drive: 750GB SATA 3Gb/s (7,200 RPM) + 64GB mSATA SSD Caching
    Video Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 780M with 4GB GDDR5
Optical Drive: Slot-Loading Dual Layer Blu-ray Reader (BD-ROM, DVDRW, CD-RW) (Your computer will only play BluRay if it is specifically listed here)

The sales rep that gave me such an awesome deal was:

    Sales Professional: Gregory Garza
    [email protected]
    1-800-695-8133 x 4169523

How I got the deal was by telling him that I had two choices, either Alienware on MSI. I said I had a college budget and the minimum I had for a computer was 2300 to 2350, anything more then that I'd have to ask parents for money. He said sorry we cannot lower the price, about 5 to 10 minutes later he came back to me and said I can get it to the price above and I was happy with that. It was just a matter of persistence and making it firm that the only money I had(which was 2350) was the only amount I would spend on it.

And luckily he was an awesome rep, nice guy and I even sent a report to his manager about how happy I was.

Oh and I forgot to add this my mother werent with me at the time so there was no way I could call her to give me money. Plus she wouldn't because she doesn't have any so.
Gotta push the point through and make sure they know it's either this or you go somewhere else. And also a nice rep.

EDIT: I forgot to say that I also told him that I bought multiple alienwares in the past, which I have to make it seem like I am a reliable customer and would come back again and again for a good price. Make sure to stress these words in your voice if they still don't give you the price you want then hang up, they will either call you, not call you, email you or not email you. Either way there is a better chance of them giving you the price if you are serious and not just on tilt about it since they will take you seriously back.

So, do you know if they are still offering this deal?
$75 just for buying a $400 dollar gift card sounds like a pretty good deal to me. especially if I can use the gift cards to buy my 18.

You have to check this website every week once they have it it will last at for 3 weeks.
    https://dell.cashstar.com/

With 400.00 gift card you can merge it $2,000 max per card but the 75.00 promotional gift card cannot be merge together and will expired within 90 days , once you get all your gift card together you need to call in and they can used 3 cards at once . $400 dollar gift card doesn't have an expiration date.

The only way dell make money from these gift card is that people forget to used there promotional gift card once expired you loose the 75.00. They want you to forget about.

I had talked to a bunch of different reps and decided to try the rep that gave Insightful his deal. I didnt get through to Gregory Garza, but I did get Ed.
We haggled for a while and it was the same old same old. $200 off and that was it.

I told him that I had $2600 to spend and I need this config, what can you do. He put me on hold and after about 5 min came back and told me that the regional sales rep would call in about 15 min to finish my order and that he thanked me for the order. I waited an hour and no call. So, I called him back at the exact same number and got somebody else. I told him what was going on and he talked to Ed. Ed said just to wait for the call. They called about 35 min later took my card number and sent me my conformation email. Weird purchase process, but I got my deal so I'm happy.

The number is right off of Dell's contact page.
    1-877-907-3355 Extension 4169523

I called during normal U.S. business hours which I believe is 8am to 6pm central standard time. I called at exactly 4pm CST.

The second time I called to verify that the manager would indeed call me I got a Pablo or Pinco. I don't remember his name for sure. I'm pretty sure that there are multiple people that answer to that extension.Anyways he went over and talked to Ed to verify to the manager would call me. You may have to just ask for him specifically or keep trying till you get him. Thats the best I can tell you.

I order from Dell Outlet all the time. That's where I get my deal. Dell Outlet Alienware gets discounted, plus there is an additional (20% - 30%) coupon that floats every so often. No haggling or anything. Sometimes They ship the laptop with the wrong specs, then you ended up getting something better, because they didn't have the specs you ordered from the outlet. Just my .02 cents.

Very good points. I actually looked at the outlet just before I bought mine. No 18's though! If I was going to buy another to go with my 18, I would very likely purchase from the outlet. They have got the best deals.

Hey everyone, longtime lurker first time poster. Wife accidentally (as usual) broke my ailing g72, so so I've been deciding on the replacement. Initial reaction was sager through powernotebooks but they never got back to me regarding ordering the second heatsink with the 8290 S. So I decided to do some more research in meantime and stumbled upon this thread. Encouraged by others success stories I decided to give it a shot. As alienwares warranty is more attractive to me. I decided I wasnt goint to overpay and set my limit to what a similiar system from sager would cost.
I attempted the previous numbers and emails posted here to no avail. Gregory was unreachable and so was edgar both via phone and email. If you notice they both have the same extension which currently takes you to some indian callcenter which you as mentioned obviously dont want.
I attempted the online chat during nights as i didnt think I'd have much luck getting an american rep at 12-4 am est.
Did not have much luck there, despite me getting at least one english (typing?) Person.
I tried about 11 times until I got an american rep, the military extension on the first page no longer works btw. I told him what I wanted and that I had a budget of 2500, after some time he came back and said he asked if the 2500 included tax. I replied my budget was exactly 2505.51 :p To which he retorted with " I can get it to 2500 but the taxes are killing me" while he was searching some more I joked how in Iraq we dont pay taxes :)
After some more searching he said he would have to talk to his manager, a minute later he came back and said he got them to knock an additional 200 off and that no lie this was the biggest discount hes ever gotten for anyone, however it was still a little over 2500. I asked how much, to which he replied 2550 with shipping and taxes. I said that works and took the deal :D

    specs are:
    M17
    120 hz 3D screen
    4800 mq
    16 gig ram
    750 hd
    80 gig ssd
and I would get 5% back on a gift card (which im simply going to use to up the warranty :)
    Total for everything was 2550

I asked him if he minded if I gave him some referrals or gave out his contact info. He said of course not he would really appreciate it, send anyone I can and that he can be very aggresive with the discounts :)

Aanyways his info [email protected] 1-800-695-8133 x 4169523

Same extension looks like so either be insistent that you want to speak oonly to him or email. He doesnt work fridays and sat.
Well gluck everyone just thought Id share. Sorry if this ends up a giant wall of text or something. Trying to do this on my wifes phone lol.
