Alienware M15x Uk Orders

Good reason...

Anyway, let's keep each others informed about all the shipping process and etc. Hope we will all be lucky and receive decent working laptops (really sad we have to be expecting to receive decent laptops, when we are talking about Alienware laptops that were paid their price in gold.)

 

Just got off the phone with the Billing Dept at AW. The transfer of funds is still not complete and should take upto 2-3 days more

Anyway, I asked them whether my initial ESD of 23rd May will be affected, seeing that all current laptops are given dates in June. The guy on the phone told me that it doesnt make a difference for my order and I should be scheduled for a date of say 26-27th May. (Im not reading too much into that though)

 

again, that email saying the cases are on backorder til 05.26. are false. i got that mail last week and mine's shipping today.

 

trust me on this.
until the money is in their account nothing will happen. the day the money goes in is the start day. you will then join the que for your specific configaration to be pulled and then wait in the que for the production line. if anything is on back order then i think nothing is pulled until that part arrives. that is why i was on phase 5 for 24 days. firstly screen on back order then when that came in the hd was on back order etc etc.

 

Quick question... how do you guys know when DHL is going to deliver the package? It has been sent yesterday and I need to plan it, so that I can take a day off to stay at home waiting for my precious.

 

they should send you a shipping code of sorts, with which you'll be able to track your package on it's way from ireland to you. in theory, at least. i haven't gotten one yet, even tho i need to make plans too

 

Jumped to phase 4 on the order status page even though I havn't received any email/notification from them saying my payment has been processed and that iv been fowarded to phase 4.

 

you don't get emails for the individual phases (at least i didn't), only if your system's going into production (phase 5) or if some part is delayed.

 

You don't receive any more emails Koning. You just have to sit back and relax and enjoy the ride now. The next email you'll receive is saying your system has been sent and that they hope you'll enjoy it as much as they enjoyed building it... whatever that means.

I do have a tracking number, but I just wanted to know how long does it normally take from shipping from Ireland to arriving in London. MrDj?

Yeah iknow it was a subnote in a earlier post about then hoping that Dell would put their expertice into AlienWare. Now its not true, so just wanted to clear that out.

2 quick statements.....
How soon do you know that a part is out of stock? I've been on stage 4 for the last 12 days, but i didn't recieve an e-mail stating that any parts are out of stock or anything!
and secondly....for the amount of money that we paid for these laptops, i don't expect and stupid 9 phase system (that never updates) I EXPECT AN ACTUAL LIVE FEED OVER THE INTERNET SHOWING YOU THE PROGRESS OF YOU LAPTOP!

 

that would rock. but it would make your lappie cost even more because they'd have to have separate workstations for each lappie.

do you remember the first conformation e-mail you get when you place the order?...the e-mail also has a hyperlink directing you to a survey asking you what you think of their service.
if you fill it in and say that you absolutley LOVE their service, they produce you laptop quicker!

fool... that form is evaluated by computer, the results get fed into some database and at the end of the year, boring midlevel execs in boring suits with boring cars congratulate each other on the results, after seeing some graphs that show how the results improved from last year. trust me, no one actually ever looks at your individual form.

the reason you're in phase 9 is because AW has been pumping out a LOT of european customers' machines since about monday. you just got lucky and your order got through as well. btw what did you order?

I am just happy mine is shipped.

I can now say that they shouldnt have a phase page when they are not handling it well, it only makes the costumers wanting it faster. I should only have recived email stating parts missing and expected delivery date and of course the tracking number. Then i wouldnt wonder why back and forth and such.

Keep in mind that they are a small growing company compared to others and rising in growth. And that i guess that the m15x has been extreemly popular in demand

 

Congrats labrat, hope to here an excellent review stating how fantastic the machine is, and that the wait was totally worth it!

Mine is shipped too, hope this "pumping out a LOT of european customers' machines since about monday" doesnt result in any rushed jobs and quality issues.

 

Bloody hell... Mine is in Dublin since the 13th of May and they don't update the information on the tracking page (that I check every 5 minutes). I'm sure they are going to deliver it exactly when I'm not at home... How the hell can I find out when they are planning to deliver it?

sorry dude, i hardly ever use the A127, i can verify though that if you use the A13 WATCH OUT! They have a new Average Speed checker running between the East India Docks, and Dagenham East. As fa as i know the A127 if unaffected.
I know that casino quite well...They serve Great Sandwiches...

Sitting at home... waiting for it... I think DHL are the biggest handfull of losers ever. What a poor service quality. I've phoned them twice to ask them if the parcell left the depot and they say, like little robots, "It's set for delivery today.". And I ask again... but did it leave the depot? And they say "It's set for delivery today.".
So I've to wait from 9am to 5pm... quite frustrating.

 

but HOPEFULLY it will be in your hands by 5pm today.

Well... I'm not over the hedge. I'm just excited enough ... let's put it that way.
I'm upset because I wanted to be at work and I hope my laptop arrives soon, as I will have to go to work after it does (even if it arrives at 5pm).
I love AW now and I hate DHL. I transfered my hate energy to them...

ring dhl and tell them that you are going on holiday and leaving for the airport at 5pm and you will be away for 10 weeks and nobody will be available to sign for it. they will then have to get it to you as i think they only try 3-5 times then return it to sender.

I have an idea...
how about calling DHL, and say that you have to make a quick amendment to the address, and ask if you can be put through to the driver...(this way you will know a) that the delivery is en-route, and b) you don't have to speak to a robot...hopefull).

Woo hoo I've just placed an order for my beautiful m15x and I blame you guys for this dramatic impulse buy! Hehe seriously though, the advice and information on here is amazing and utterly convinced me this was the machine for me. Now I've just got to wait till the 9th June for it to ship

First but of advice though!....Ignore the Phases, and everything they stand for, it'll just tear your hair out!

It looks great... Only the processor is a bad choice at the moment, as there are some downclocking issues with it. Appart from that... you certainly look like you have money to throw away!
