I found them off the 'my hive' area, I clicked on an item in my list with a blue link, I found driver and bios downloads there. hope that helps. Was there something wrong with the ocz bios? did they work for you? Could you adjust overclocks in the bios? I thought I seen you used it.

Not sure if the OCZ BIOS would make a difference. Your keyboard will work with the OCZ BIOS (light up and everything), but the only reason why one would even think about using the OCZ BIOS on the M17 is to legitimize the Extreme processors with the multipliers. The M17's BIOS doesn't allow you to adjust multipliers even with Extreme chips.

if you flash the m17 with the OCZ BIOS, Command Center (and, i presume, all AW-specific software, possibly including the OSD and other stuff) will cease to function.

    just as a heads-up.

    It's gone Baby!! :)

A combination of Jscreenfix and UDPixel got it out of there.

Thanks again, since Im travelling on business in Moscow now, and departing for Dubai, then Asia, it would have been a pain to have to wait and ship it back to AW on my return back to the U.S.

One thing I am noticing, this laptop is really a dust magnet., but I love it :D

sorry man...I'm not sure what's up with that. I'm switching from green to blue, then red then off by pressing fn + f10...I'm not sure how else to do it...

edit: there is a keyboard controller bios you can download from "my hive" that may sort you out...

    good luck

Is it worth getting the SSD Hard drive
will it help for gaming or other stuff ?

    500GB (250GB x 2) 7,200RPM (8MB Cache) w/ Free Fall Protection
    OR
    512GB (256GB x 2) Solid State Drive [+$900 or $27/mo.]

    Which is better ?

    thxs

not going to make that much of a difference gaming, since most of the stuff is loaded into memory for faster game play. it will load super quick though.

if you move big files around like video, audio files & software programs. then ssd would be worth the price. if your not that active with files, then maybe some cheaper costing ssd's would be more benifical or of course 7200 rpm drives...

I thought it was E-wrecked who asked if SSDs pushes the 3DMark06 score and indeed ... they do!

Somebody said something around 300 points +!

Since this E-wrecked is thinking of buying Raid 0 SSDs to push his worldrecord even higher!

What you said about "recent files are loaded in the ram" is true but, I don't know why, SSDs give you better performances as well^^

edit, im using 5400's(regular hard drives) and i have all the records so i guess they can't be that bad, now can they?..but they do not hold any hdd world records!! that's for sure... :D :D

I wonder If there is a way to change the colors on the keyboard to whatever you want. I say (ask) this because, When I was installing something I forget what my laptop restarted and the keys were white .. yes white. then after bootup they went green ( the option I'm using ). So, I was thinking, If it will show white, how could I keep it white or could I use any other color I choose? perhaps, via rgb color settings.

Sorry this might be sort of a "noob" post but...

First off, i got the Blu-Ray Player as the Drive and when i play the Dark Knight for example it seems kind of grainy, does this maybe have to do with the 1920x1200 resolution?

Also im not sure wether or not my ATI drivers are up to date, i know one thing is that if your familiar with Steam, it tells you wether or not it needs to be updated (only said that on my nvidia desktop)... so i dont really know

Another issue is that when i first boot it up everythings running nice and smooth the first time i try to open up a music file, it takes almost 20 seconds till windows media player actually plays it, my library is super small like 47 songs and the moment i click the song the player comes up but the music doesnt play till 20 seconds or so later...after this happens whenver i try to play another song it runs instantly...just wondering whats causing this initial "lag"

Alright, something just happened that scared me...

    1. went to device managr and uninstalled along with software one of the 3870's mistakenly leaving the other one there...
    2. went and rebooted in safe mode and tried to clean install the 9.1, but when i tried installing that it just said "detection driver not detected"...
    3. friend told me that might be a safe mode issue so i booted regular and then the resolution freaked out on me and kept changing in an infinite loop
    4. cold shutdown
    5. booted backup and system restored

    6. can anyone help me? or solve this problem all i want is to update my drivers but they wont update, i installed it before but the driver version doesnt change in the CCC, it makes a folder in the ATI/Support folder but i think it still runs of the 8-12..... PLZ HELP THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING

All that shows in the Graphics Software is:

I'm assuming youvdownloaded cat 9.1 and just tried to install it as is? If so, it's a desktop driver and doesn't support the mobility cards. You can either use mobility modder, or just download my pre-modded and tweaked drivers. Can someone pls link the thread for him? On iPhone.

Ok, so to touch back on the white backlit keyboard, I was doing a system restore with acronis software when it was this color. When windows loads, it goes back to one of the default colors you had on last. I just think it's interesting how the keyboard is white when supposedly that color isn't in the small list of colors.
