Glad to hear you made it Phase 5 Code!! It will go by super fast now...mine only took to 2 days to go from 5 to 9!!!

My M17 didn't actual ship till today though it was ready for ship and assigned tracking numbers friday. It arrives thursday morning, I am taking off work to go get...yay!!!

Yes around April 9, I ordered mine on 3/27 and they began building on 4/9

 

Well I meant another shipment, I got word that assembly had stopped for a few days and then suddenly started again, interpreted it as getting another shipment. Yeah im paranoid

 

haha yeah, I emailed them yesterday and got a reply this morning. They say that my order has been blocked and that I need to contact them at my earliest convenience to resolve it. So I plan to call them as soon as they open at 9. Hopefully theyll get it to phase 5 when I call them...

So I ordered my M17 on 13 Mar, shipped 26 mar, and still have not recieved it. I have seen a few packages come though here today dates ranging anywhere from 23 Mar to 5 Apr, hoping it will come through soon, keeping my fingers crossed.

 

Don't they give you tracking numbers?

 

Lol, I have no idea. Its 4pm here, but est is 7hrs behind. They open at 9am so Ill be calling them soon to see whatsup

Ok I called them, it was blocked because they needed to verify my paypal address...Lol

 

You know, it would be awesome of the M17 came in different colors like the M9700. I just got my palmrest and M9750 lid painted in pearl white gloss and matte and the system looks SICK! I had to sand the palmrest, which had the matte finish because there was a lot of boils, but the finished product is amazing. I'll post pictures later on.

 

Yeah I want a pink M17!! Real mans color! Maybe add a hello kitty wall paper while im at it Im surprised though the m17 doesn't come in more colors

Obviously it would, haha. My warranty is long gone. The company I got my system from doesn't even exist anymore! So far in my life, I haven't had any major breakdowns on systems I've owned to warrant a warranty. I hope I can hold that streak for a while.

I would advise you not to buy 4 GB from Alienware and upgrade it yourself cause you would save money, but from your configuration, I doubt you would care

Finally! I woke up this morning and checked my status and finally on phase 5!!

Great! So 7 days it took to get to phase 5

And that also means, if they hurry up and build it, it will be out here next thursday, because thats the only day we get mail!!! ahhhh I hope they hurry

Its going to be regular shipping. Since theyre on the east coast, they should get it to the FPO shipping place in NY in like a day and then ship it here from plane to djibouti

The best part is that I work from home, so I'll be able to play with it right away

 

Well it would appear they havnt run out of cards yet, as the **estimated** ship date hasn't been put back a crazy amount of days

We all feel your pain. Today however, is delivery day for me. I've got my M17, a second 7200 RPM drive (for Ubuntu), and an Oakley laptop backpack arriving. Woo hoo =)

i ordered my M17 2 weeks ago. Got a reply saying that both ATI graphics cards were on back order. Not expected until the 30/04/09. I emailed back saying that i can order these cards on next day delievery, whats the problem. I then asked for a free upgrade to backlit keyboard in way of compensation for the unexceptable delay. Low and behold within 3 days my order has been shipped!

 

did they end up giving you the backlit keyboard. or were they being cheap.

Also about Ubuntu, how do you buy that OS? Ive only dealt with mac os x and windows and have never tried Linux. I was looking around amazon and they had a zillion things with linux. I dont know which to buy

 

No need to buy anything my friend. Just go to http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu and grab it for yourself!

As you're probably a gamer, just be aware that it doesn't appear 3D acceleration works on the 3870x2. I'm not yet sure that it is even supported with a single 3870 at this point. I'll try some OpenGL based benchmarks once I've got it up and running.

 

FedEx pushed back my delivery date until tomorrow! Auuugh. I've got both the backpack and 2nd drive here and nothing to do with them

Ya just download, burn it as an image (ISO) stick it in your drive to try it as a live cd or actually install it.

Justa side note: You can't play any of your current games on it, it's not for gaming.
