You were putting 16 kg on your shoulder? Just saying that sounds painful.

I bought it from amazon but I live accross the globe, in Romania, Europe. No complete care here, no care at all
-
definitely picking me up one of these once my m15x is order. Its a great laptop bag, shows a nerd brand off without anyone really knowing because it looks like a regular bag
-
I did a FULL review on it as well but this one is great

I guess I forgot to include the cell phone holder but my backpack is definitely the mobile edge version
-
-
I bought the newegg one and it looks different than the one in the pictures on newegg.
-
Odd that there would be two different versions
-
Ye a mine wad that one on newegg
-
Did yours have the middle pocket?
-
Yea I believe so
-
Huh, because i remember at least one or two people saying theirs didn't have that middle compartment, figured yours wouldn't if it looked like the newegg one.
Edit: Yeah the one on newegg has the crease for the pocket, but no pictures of it so i'm just assuming it doesn't have it. The side mesh pockets aren't zipper concealable as well -
-
well I have had mine since Nov2009, and the bag has started to waer along the bottom

Dell says limited lifetime warranty wonder if this is covered ? -
-
Also of note ... the Orion fits the PS3 perfectly.
-
So some have 2 pockets and some have 3?

Excellent post! Most helpful, I just ordered mine, however I must ask, how does this look when your wearing it? Is it overly huge and look stupid or is it actually decent? Let me know, because if so Im gonna order the Messenger Bag.
-
It looks fantastic but my friends at school do say it looks quite tall. And I'm 6'3". But that's what you get with a backpack meant for a huge laptop.
It might not seem like it from the pictures but it attracts a lot of attention, mainly due to the alien head. -

My ALIEN is coming tomorrow but i haven't got a bacpack for it yet!! OMG!
-
If you get one this should be the top of yoour list. It is amazing.
-
I just got in today the messenger bag, and wow it is amazing. Quality is great, lots of room for everything. I even got the alienware sleeve to keep it in inside the bag
I had the alienware porfolio for the m11x but got rid of it beacause it holds like nothing. -
Finally got one of these, thanks for a good review
-
hi guys I have a problem with my Orion Backpack, the head of the alien got scratched what should I do to put it like it was originaly?
-
^
Unfortunately I don't think there is anything. Mine and almost everyones is scratched as well -

Hmm, maybe put a light coat of clear coat on it
?
I'm gonna do a good video of this backpack. I got mine and love it. -
Also good for scuffed CD's and DVD's. -
damm I live in Portugal I really don't have it
-
Looking at most of these retail places, I see that most of them carry only the 2 compartment. Anyone know who sells the 3 compartment backpack?
-
Amazon does. That's where I got mine from.
-
wanted to give my input.
Have this bag. Very good.
Mine is ordered from dell, and it has 3 pockets! -

So I was originally thinking the Slappa Matrix than the Slappa Koa but they might be a bit expensive. The Orion is on sale for $75 CAD instead of $100 which I can justify. I've read all pages of this thread (definitely seems like a well reviewed backpack) but I guess my question is how is it for hauling books when you aren't carrying the laptop? Is there a pretty generous amount of room? And I think someone earlier in the thread mention it wasn't really waterproof but do you think wearing it during fairly heavy snow fall would damage it/ my laptop?
-
It won't damage your backpack but I wouldn't recommend any backpack outside in the rain for extended periods of time. I was never out in the rain for more than 15 minutes and the inside was never wet, but the outside was very damp. -
I'm sold, thanks

Hello again! I have a 17.3" laptop (41.5x5.5x28 cm - 16.3x2.2x11 inch) and I am not sure if it will fit the backpack.
I have seen two different alienware backpacks that are almost the same but with some minor changes. Let me show you what I mean. The first is the one that you have (states that hold one 17.3" laptop) and the second is this ALIENWARE Alienware Orion Laptop Backpack - Fits Laptop of Screen Sizes Up to 17" - Black : Laptop Accessories | Dell
The laptops are almost the same but the second states that can hold two 17" laptops. (if you watch carefully you will see some minor changes in the two backpacks)
Can you enlighten me regarding this issue? Unfortunately I can find only the second backpack and before geting it I want to be sure that it can fit my laptop. Thank you in advance!
EDIT: Just read some pages back and found out that there are two differnet backpacks! Does anyone have the two comparement backpack so that he can verify me if it can hold my laptop for sure? -
that is the one I have from dell, and it features the third pocket

I didn't read all of the pages, but I need a new bag for my new PERFECT m17x. This thing is a champ, and unlike a lot of people, I got a flaw free machine (minus inherent flaws like drivers but not putting it to sleep or unplugging it while on doesn't bother me until the new driver comes out next week!).
I need a bag to do her justice. What other bags are out there that will fit my baby, as well as protect her, keep her warm, and have room for all of her friends!? (accessories) -
I recently bought one of these because I didn't own a single bag that could comfortably accommodate my M15x. I feel the height is great (I have an M15x with room to spare in that regard) but the depth isn't quite sufficient once I add my binder and a few books. As far as the quality, I'd call it good, but not quite as good as my old Swiss Gear messenger bag that I keep my ThinkPad in.
I give it my recommendation assuming the person purchasing is only keeping computer related things in it. While it is pretty big, I still wish it was 30-50% deeper
A friend of mine has a Swiss Gear backpack that barely fits his Asus G51J (height wise), but that bag has a much bigger middle section that fits books and binders better. -
I just bought the Alienware backpack from Newegg and got the 3-compartment version! I see alienware.com and dell.com has the same-model backpack with only two compartments with two pouches/cup-holder on the sides. Does anyone know which one is the latest version? The two-compartment one seems to have better cushion around the laptop while the half-open zipper may makes the laptop a bit harder to "slide" in.
I really like having a middle compartment to separate and better organize stuffs, but if it's an older version then I might return it. LOL. Can someone confirm this? -
I ended up receiving mine from newegg with a scratched alienhead - asked for a refund got it, and they let me keep it? odd.

I have this backpack. Worth every penny. So much room, I can carry two laptops in here if I wanted. Very comfortable straps too...
-
how is the Orion for school, i go to college and carry my bag everywhere, and im about to get a M15x and would love this bag but im not sure if i could carry all my books and my AW ?
-
Works great for school; That's why I bought mine. Granted it gets heavy if you wear for long walks but not to the point of pain.
