the card is HUGE
-
-
That card is just insane.
-
You would need a 26 inch laptop to house 2 of those bad boys , Bring it on!!
.
-
1 is feasible......
-
I'd never buy anything over 17 inch.
I don't even like 17 inch notebooks.
I'll stick with 15's... -
17 inch is where its AT
perfect blend -
To hold an x2 gpu I would think its only going to use one or have a mobo with a ram module type slot for the gpus. That would create A Lot of heat also lol its just an idea
-
i have no idea what your talking about....
do you mean a MXM slot ?
its not gonna be used . were just bored and throwin poo -
If the new 17 inch from AW has a smart bay drive that lets me run off of two batteries I will consider buying it even though it will weigh me down. I am really rooting for a new 15 inch in the mean time but I cant see alienware making hype over a 15 inch and using words like "all powerful." Hopefully since this sounds like a series of computers to be released a 15 inch will soon follow. There is just no battery life in a 17+ inch laptop and that is my entire issue with them.
-
...we have already told you what its gonna be
and the picture stated that as well
my m17 can get 2:15 if i strech it .....if i undervolted and ran 1 GPU i may get 2:30 -
Either way I could foresee them releasing a 15inch in the future after the new 17 inch. 2+ hours is very respectable for the size of it. My sony is a little over an hour =/ -
well there is talks of a m15x refresh and it very likely they will its nice chassis other then the hinges .... i dont see why they would not
-
I have heard the hinge issues are becoming less frequent. My largest gripe about the m15x is the hardware and components they offer atm. They are a bit dated, specifically the video cards offered. Although with the price reduction on the base price as well as some of the components I was considering ordering it until AW decided to raise the prices this week... grr
-
dammit, i missed all the fun. nice work everybody. the final riddle bugs me - the core reference is interesting (in that it implies Core i7), but i'm hard-pressed to see the connection between "core" and zero-sum games.
-
ok yes the laptop doesn't fit a quad core .....its a 15 inch and the only 15 inch that can fit it has trouble with a qx9300.....
also the m15x does fit the 260 and 280 you can put them in yourself. The 9800mgt is still in the top 5 single cards for gaming out right now.
the x9000 still is more then enough for 98% of games out right now
and ddr2 is just as fast as DDR3 as of this moment
so the hard ware isn't bad its older then some but it still rapes 90% of the laptops out -
Fair enough Moo but im just pouting because they increased the price on the 9800gt by 150 dollars this week haha. It just makes the 8662 even more appealing for price vs what you get scenario now.
-
the sager is better ......it can fit a qx9300 and 280m gtx but you have to undervolt
i think its refering to a quad core
it has to do with CPU because they always list the main components
size GPU CPU -
sorry for double
is it just me or does the Picture not make some sense... first it has
size
then dual
then GTX
then ?aluminum?
then CPU?
the 4 one just kinda is outta place -
the material it's made of. after the hinge issues with the m15x, the must be pretty intent on notting having that happen again, and what their customers to know it.
-
good point
its more important then the CPU.... but its kinda obvious what CPU it will have...not i7....if i7 was in there and they stuffed gtx 280 SLI i would crap my pants..... -
I think i7 is a good possibility. Heck the biggest disappointment of ALL would be an alienware revision of an np9280. Same laptop, Alienhead lid haha just like the good old days.
-
there is no i7 ...just dont even think about it ......
135w seriously with 2 280's... -
Hey its a POSSIBILITY. Remember we don't know anything lol
-
actually we know alot ....
-
Yea show me specs released from alienware....If none, we know only what is released buy other manufacturers.
-
lets see people who worked for AW
common sense
the pictures -
So pictures tell you the internals of a laptop? Wow I didn't know such things were possible. +1 for human vision evolution.
-
try reading it ....
-
Show me this picture please I see words but no backup proof....
-
i am at a loss for words
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=380885&page=29 -
you are right MR.moo
even clevo, one os the best berbone manufactures cant put in a 18.4 inches laptop i7+280m sli becouse of heat ..... imagine how hard wold it be to dissipate 130w of TDP cpu + 75w per vga = 280w os power producing heat, it hold use a massive cooling to cool this, and yes i know what i am affirming...
ho! and one more thing, top clevo's usually use a 220w power transformator, and the toshiba x305/x305 uses a 230 watt's ... the clevo i dont know, but thew toshiba is massively big(nearly 2 times the size of and 90w normal power transformator ) and extremely heave (1 kg more and less)..
just use good sense before post please
sorry my bad english m8's -
the "allpowerful" is a M17x refresh (with Montevina platform).. which was Quanta designed manufactured. Read my sig.
no Core i7..... only the Clevo D900F gets that honor (with the desktop platform)... since the mobile platform has not even launched yet. -
Gophn you confirmed it with this
look at the middle of the laptop where it curves in and then look at the teaser pic the grills and case have changed a little
i also studied the picture and i think i can see a little break in the lid... where the skullcap ribs meet the other part there is a thin break. Any AW owner with skull cap knows what i am talking about -
clpdj...An sli 280m and i7 setup is already out. I simply said its a small possibility. Few weeks left we will see what will come. Not that it concerns me too much since the past few alienware laptops (m15x, m17x) were built like complete poop. yes i said poop.
-
omg where is this i7 and sli 280 laptop out at ?
there is a sager 9820 with i7 and 280m gtx (not released)
and clevo m98NU with montevina and SLI 280m gtx(not released) -
Yes not released but confirmed and taking preorders already..More than Alienware. Some hole your diggin mr.mooo
-
OMFG.... you cant have 280m sli with i7 (only in one desktop NOT in LAPTOP)
Sorry for de advertising but as you can see here
http://www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk/comanche_overview.php
and here
http://www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk/comanchesli_overview.php
clevo (ore even other manufacture) dosent have 280m sli with i7 platform....
btw: kobalt are rebranded clevos/sager, tose ones are sager 9820(kobalt comanche) and clevo m980NU (Kobalt comanche sli) -
yup sure am .... i guess nothing is confirmed when you have a countdown to a RELEASE
-
So which is better? Taking your money and holding on to it for weeks? Or launching a new product next week and being ready to ship units in a faster time? (Im not saying they are, but Id imagine theyd want to get off on the right foot and not make people wait too long).
Time will tell. -
np9280 does look it up and it comes out in a few weeks and is confirmed.
-
-
jesus dude the 9820 is a single gtx 280 and a i7
not SLI -
it was the first pictures ......silver is not to shabby
-
It has dual mxm slots...Explain that.
-
I think you are mistaken.
the Clevo D900F (Sager 9280) only as a single GPU slot.
the previous Clevo D901C (Sager 9262) has dual GPU slots.
.... and you better not be referring to the typo on Clevo's site.... because that will be corrected in a bit... and the pics show otherwise. -
for the other guy who ever he was
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=377296
this is what it takes to cool
1 i7 cpu
1 280 gtx
please tell me where you see the second GPU -
MR.Moo now imagine one more VGA... it wold need to bee 19"~20" for have the space for it.... no way... lol
can some one imagine the size and the Kg's that a 250w energy transformator wold have ? OMFG... and the KG's of the Laptop wold be stupidly high -
-
Do you people sleep?? lol! Loving all the speculation and debate going on here.
-
i dont sleep
im a cow
