Its 7:43pm over at my place... so yeah.
Anyway, I absolutely love what I'm seeing so far in term of design... Doubt it will let anyone down (Provided you don't set it too high...).
-
people already have it way to high ...i7 and SLI 280's hahahahaha
-
here in portugal is nearly 1 PM ...
yap people are getting creasy... the maximum performance that is possible at the moment is qx9300 + 280m SLI or if we are lucky with alianware qx9300 + 4870 x2 Gddr5 (but i have some doubt's about gddr5)
-
why? ddr5 is not gonna make much more heat
any way you look at it this will be the fastest system...the clevo m98NU will be right beside it depending on the OC'ing capability
some one better find that PLL on the AW -
What about the possibility of liquid cooling? I remember someone mentioning there was talk about alienware considering liquid cooling on laptops several months back?
surely that would add to the i7 + 2 GPU's speculation? -
Like I said Core is the best we could come up with as all the references look like they were ripped from Wikipedia and economics is full of zero-sum games.
If you can come up with a better connection I'll back you on it because the answer I got bugs me too. -
The next-gen Nehalem architecture CPUs (both desktop and mobile) aren't even being called i7 anymore.....Lynnfield/Clarksfield is being referred to as i5.
-
I hope they keep the smartbay as well but as far as weighing you down an aluminum chassis should knock a pound or two off the notebook.
-
..... meaning it cannot get any better then whats out right now
-
anyone have the 2nd wallpaper (with the riddles on it) in full resolution?
-
i thought it was on page 29 in 1900 res
-
Our work made Engadget again.
http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/28/alienwares-allpowerful-laptop-teases-with-riddles/ -
lmao look at the comments
-
That makes sense too. -
I'm not going to lie....I'm a little disappointed (jealous ;þ) that the screen name I use on these forums to maintain my anonymity was not mentioned at all and will not receive it's 15 minutes of fame.
epeen +0.
But I will take solace in the fact that at least this time Engadget didn't post any of Quicklite's obviously photoshopped pics that people all over the internet are still taking as legit.
-
lol sometimes people are reallllllly stupid

The first four prime numbers are 1,2,3 & 5 which add to 11, not 17!!
EPIC FAIL. -
Ooohhh. Nice. But maybe he was kidding too.
OK, at least give him the benefit of the doubt. -
2, 3, 5, 7 ;|
-
Thanks for that GTi, for all those who didn't know.
-
A lot of the people that post comments at Endgadget have a habit of not looking before they leap!
-
Blame the reporters for Engadget's news stories....they set the bad example.
-
...oh...
Originally, I never claimed that image to be legit, but most people missed that part; and I didn't PS any image this time neither... -
Yeah,
I think they know exactly what they're doing and just get a kick out of it. -
if this is a 17 inch 16:10 model with SLI GTX 280s, I think it'll steal a lot of sales from the M980NU simply because of 16:10 and the smaller size.
-
I was hinting at Engadget's pretty well established track record of posting junk before checking their facts....thinking they do it on purpose I'd say is giving them too much credit.
-
Guys can we just stay on the topic...
-
I think this is on topic with all the "buzz" surrounding the much anticipated release of the new line.
If you've got some new pictures or more "code" I'd love to hear about it...
-
you'll love this one, guys:
from a German computer magazine. top-right corner...
EDIT: i'm working on getting a better source. -
Don't worry Quick you're not at fault for making the pic. It's just that there are too many people that don't know how to recognize a joke where no one is getting kicked in the nuts or breaking wind.
Here's the latest appearance I've found of your artwork:
http://www.geeksmack.net/hardware/340-alienware-to-debut-qall-powerfulq-system-at-e3.html -
Dude I hope this is true for 2 reasons: 1) i7 would be awesome even if you don't really need one, and 2) Slap around the dudes with "reliable sources" running around chanting "no i7, trust me"
-
Hey look a zero-sum game. ;þ
-
Reminds me of the fake quote on Wikipedia that ended up on hundreds of news papers.
-
OK guys, here is a new one.
I don't know about you but I think it's just not a single laptop but other products. Somebody work your Photoshop magic on this one. -
source? also, looks like a cropped image - the text in the bottom right corner seems to extend beyond the picture.
-
The translation to that picture is:
June 02 2009
...and all powerful music
welcome the revolution...
by war -
HAHAH I LOVE THE I7 *smack* eveyone who thinks they know corei7 will not be in it....Imagine they are proven wrong O_O. point for me
-
that's what i got as well. this is wierd... something smells fishy here. i can't place the "hywar" in the AP or AW context, and the image itself is pretty wierd too, a cobbled together mix of different alienheads and two rather strange elements that look somewhat like wall sockets.
-
-
nice one, i tried to do the same in GIMP, but failed miserably. what i see there in the background is a PMP (portable music player) on a base/speaker device. is AW branching out into music? then the tagline would at least make sense.
however, because of the "hywar" signature, i'm inclined to call hoax. -
here's some proof that the pic i posted earlier isn't a fake:
again, a clear "Core i7" logo in the top right corner. -
WOW amazing man
-
I'm curious, how did you guys read the text?
I never managed to figure out the font, nor did the OCR app pick anything up... -
install the font, then check out the guide. it's what i use.

that Core i7 refers to the "allpowerful" desktop (not notebook).... I confirmed that already.
-
what desktop? there'll be an AP desktop? source?
-
whizzo it's the logical trajectory to follow. I think the 750i desktop is the next on the chopping block, as to when I don't have the slightest clue, but you gotta know it's coming at some point this year. The use of the i7 logo means nothing as far as notebook branding, it's all happening on the desktop side for i7... for now at least.
Note that I'll be the first one in line for a serving of crow if i7 comes anywhere near the new 17", but it ain't happening. -
that was in the initial news release about the "Allpowerful" marketing campaign.
http://www.slashgear.com/alienware-allpowerful-laptop-desktop-range-launching-june-1343704/ -
"All Powerful" is a marketing term--and a rather arrogant one at that. At this point, there's no way to know what it means.
-
yeah but there's been zero news on desktops being part of the All Powerful "program". it's been strictly about the new laptop(s) until now, especially in regards to the released wallpapers and video.
