So far, there's no consensus on how long a battery should last in units of this size. But since they are sold as desktop replacements and are frequently used in multimedia, they should at least last one enough to run a standard length movie (2 hrs). If they can't last that long, they need to go back to the drawing board and come up with a more energy efficient design.
That's a very big issue indeed!

    The Allpowerful.com site clearly says:
"Official Dell Alienware site for new allpowerful gaming laptops and desktops."

It is just a brand, the same as XPS or Adamo. They can put the brand on whatever they want.

Well it's also been known since day one that the all powerful series would include both notebooks and desktops (allpowerful site source code). What we didn't know was whether just a laptop would be released at the end of the countdown. It's fair to say we will atleast get 1 desktop and 1 notebook on the 2nd.

That image looked familiar. Check this link.

Alienware had a short flirtation with a music player and dock a few years ago. The image is from the launch in 2005.

The first character on the bottom looks like it could be a "b" in the AW font...which means this would say "By WaR"

This transition to Dell production is going to mean the Alienware brand will be placed on notebooks, desktops, peripherals (like mice), and software.

All Powerful is not just one product. "All Powerful" may very well be what Dell thinks the Alienware name will become with them backing it.

I'm late to the game on this so you can say all you want that I'm full of crap but I knew it was fake when I saw it because the pic was completely black.

You tried to take too much advantage of the photoshop shtick. ;þ

Yes im sure it will , after owning many 17inchers then a 18.4 the difference is pretty huge as far as portability is concerned and there are still alot of people who would rather have the 16:10 as you said.

Ratio aside, would you guys be happy to take a better quality 16:9 screen, rather than a poorer performing 16:10?

I'm sure some people's hatred of 16:9 runs so blind that by no other reason than it being 16:9 it performs worse than a 16:10.

These people, even if offered a 16:9 screen running a 2048x1152 resolution with better response time and contrast would instead take a 1920x1200 16:10 screen for that "extra" 48 pixels of vertical resolution.

Some of them are the same people that believe in your photoshopped keyboard pic Quick. ;)

If it were LED sure , 16:9 didnt bother me at all but im used to it since all my screens in my home are that ratio , others dont like it though thats for sure but over time they wont have much choice im thinking.

Well it looks like its going to be available for order on June 2nd, I believe this because it would turn a lot of people off from buying it, as other companies will have similar laptops available sooner, and that would not be good for business. Plus it just seems like it from what people are posting.

You don't need reliable sources to guess it won't be an i7 SLI setup. Intel hasn't shrunk the i7 mobile die any further then it has at the moment and at the moment no chassis, not even a 18.4 could support the heat+space+power needs of both i7+SLI. If this does come out with an i7, lights out, goodbye AW has the title. I have a feeling it will do what it can to outperform the M980U anyway.

It IS i7, it will have 3x ATI 4890's, and it will support 4 dimms of 8gb memory.

sure! and its main source of power is heat! battery has an hour charge more then enough to get the notebook turned on to create heat to charge it self! Oh and it will have a PLED display with with a 2048x1152 resolution and 1 MS latency. it will also be Thinner then the Macbook Air and has the power to create a Black Hole and split an atom at the same time!

13.3 inch screen with a WUXGA res 0_o? I hope no one EVER makes a display like that. You would need a telescope to read on that thing.

I see you didnt rule out the notebooks ability to create a Black Hole and split an atom. that confirmed?
