Im seriously reconsidering my choice of the languishing discounted M17 I was promised. Would they give me an M17x on the cheap? I doubt it, but I will sure ask.

I dont have the slightest clue. Theres always been a reluctance in Alienware in the past in allowing too much leeway and maneuvers that could be financially prohibitive if customers fry their hardware too much. Will Dell shake things up? Its possible either way I think. We will know soon enough!

I know by now everyone is getting tired of the mention of i7

but in a month or two do you think they will introduce a mobile i7 for the platform?
or anything else really that would give me reason to wait a couple months to purchase it rather than right away?

Im always skeptical of buying 1st generation...anything

Everybody who wanted to pull the trigger on the m17 , when 4870 are released, are now going to buy the NEW m17x ...
The base price is tempting even though im on a budget :D

Any1 know much will be the final price with shipping. MSRP or how to call it? Also i understand that 260m is roughly one 4870?

Sweet looking rig. Wonder what the upgrade cost will be with the second card. Hopefully Intel will also release the next generation extreme processors like the X9500.

"An optional 1920-by-1200-resolution edge-to-edge LCD" -What are people opinion on this? I know Dell already has systems with this type of LCD but I've never seen one.

still need opinions on this please :)

I'm still a bit worried about buying it right away..

would it be safe to wait a couple months to purchase it rather than immediately (alienware would add diff. upgrades)?

A.K.A. new mobile nvidia/ati cards coming out soon, mobile DDR3-1600, etc..

    not reliable

a whitebook with dual 3870 does not score 11,xxx with an x9100 rob scores 15.5 k

dude are you serious ddr3 1600?

whoo poo cuz ddr2 and ddr 3 are so much different buy the thing you keep waiting then better stuf will be out but ..... thats how technology is the longer you wait the better it gets but its a never ending cycle

Wow, again...you don't answer the question at all, and are very hard to understand btw (almost as bad as 1337 speak).

My question, again (you dont have to answer mr. moo if you dont want to)
isssss if we are near/around the corner of a new technology being released...a.k.a. within the next month or so. Not next year, not after that, but within the next couple months [Not to mention E3, the electronic expo is around the corner].

An upgrade worthy of waiting for? or theres nothing really important being released and I wouldn't regret buying one now?

    simple question : )

no capella is the next CPU platform being release and that saposed to be in the fall. AMD is coming back to mobile computers but so far no release date.

and with technology if you wait for better things then you will always be waiting ( sorry i am tired )

    Haha, love it!

She is a beauty but way too much hype/price for something that isn't all that interesting or "All Powerful".

Anyone else think that the front of the AP looks like the grille of a muscle car (can't put my finger on the exact one)?
