Well the problem is what will be the stock config... If it have at least a quad core, 4/6gb ram, 1920 screen ($150 upgrade sux lol), and the SLI upgrade don't costs $1000 bucks... lol
-
ok dude
and every one else lets get real
a quad is going to be like 600-1200 i unno but still its expensive!!!!!
4-6 gigs of ram ----doesn't matter upgrade your self
1920 screen may come standard because if its a 18.4 its gonna be werid to even offer 1440
SLI 280 m gtx is gonna really cost i unno what sager is charging but im betting 600-800 easy so AW will be some where around there -
-
You never know, they might surprise us. I hope they will surprise us
!
-
It would be nice if the notebook would support both ATI and NVIDIA cards.
-
The m9750 supports both
-
-
Yeah, that would be nice, they probably will in the future, like desktops.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
the m17 whitebook does. but only a single nvidia. because of the mxm slots.
-
-
it would be nice ...depends how they wanna go it would be a huge support hassle lol
it doesn't void the warranty .... -
-
Any idea or advice whether should I refund my M17 and wait for this "Allpowerful" laptop?? I bought my M17 about $3200 2 weeks ago, So I would expect a so so specs and a better looking with the new laptop, cause I hate the illuminated keyboard of the M17, Some of the button doesn't even light up, but I hope the new laptop will be 17", 18" would be something that I need to consider about if I'm going to buy it.
-
I wonder what issues this machine will have. Whoever gets this better be ready to troubleshoot this animal himself, as it will be totally unchartered territory.
It's gonna be a while before there are enough NBR members out there with "quicksilvers?" to give some decent support for this beast. -
its gonna be 17-18 inchs
and we dont know about the lighting in the system
if you want a refund your not gonna get a full refund
the system is gonna be superior to the m17 we do know that (at least as of now) -
-
humm i am quite curious as to what this is
-
but looks nice though
-
Maybe it will be a magical pen that can write a screen onto your wall...
-
So June 1st 6:00am CST....I'll be at work ready to call if I like what I see.
-
while going through the code in the allpowerful.com its not a laptop release date (well it is ) but its says
< name="description" content="Official Dell Alienware site for new allpowerful gaming laptops and desktops . Sign up to be the first to view these new custom high performance gaming laptops and desktops.">
this is a new site altogether, there moving over to here for the laptops from dell/ Alienware
i never put it together.....They are making a whole NEW line of computers no more ALX systems it seems ...
Was i the only retarded one that didnt put this together -
-
-
the post says that Allpowerful series of gaming laptops and desktops .... this really isn't a count down for just 1 laptop ( i think at the time it is ) but this seems to be a new venture between the 2 companies.
Its Dell trying to move in a new direction it seems .... This is the new laptop but is seems that instead of making ALX systems that AW made Dell is making a new line now that they are merged....
just throwing POO here....wish i knew
-
LOL @ "Allpowerful".
It's probs just a new line of notebooks, but still consistent with Alienware ways. Say maybe an x line or f line. f15x would be sweet. -
lol yea well ..its pointing to a 17 inch ...Nvidia ................. only one way to go there...........280's and quads yaya
-
I think it's safe to say we can wave goodbye to the XPS gaming range.
-
actually you may not be saying goodbye to it all the way
-
Hopefully it will start including Dell's warranty. We need to be able to buy complete care for three years and have the warranty be transferable if we decide to sell it off when Capella comes.
-
Capella? is that new...replacement for montevina? or..chassis? not a graphic card i know of
-
"Intel Calpella is the code name for the successor to the Intel Montevina platform. Calpella will be the sixth Centrino generation and positioned to compete against AMD's Fusion platform. It is thought to support the Gilo CPU which will be available in dual and quad core models." -
I gotta hand it to the people in Marketing, they know how to catch everyone's attention and how to get a buzz going. That site looks nice and follows the Alienware spirit, but it will feel like an eternity for most of you
-
mehh ill just play my games on my m17 till then i know i cant afford it so .... im good
-
Luckily, I have things to occupy me over the next 19 days. Final exams on Friday and Tuesday, then Champion's League final, a NFG gig and all the things in between like going to the doctor/dentist/hairdresser. Got my money ready to splash on this new rig too. Hoping to be the first to post pics! =p
-
damn marketing and thanks mandrake for explanation
tell us sneaky! ill give you...hugs? -
-
Holy crap!
I get sick for one day and all hell breaks loose!
@Alienware Rose and Alienware Armando, Fill us in in the details.
We won't tell anyone! -
man im sick today.. this sucks....
-
Hopefully it's not H1N1!
-
If it's being released in 20 days it will be Monty.
If it's just an announcement/website move there still might be hope for Intel Calpella/Clarksfield Quadcores due out in Q3. I'd prefer this and would wait a little longer for new quads.
When the announcements were made about Dell taking over production for Alienware it was said that Quicksilver would be demonstrating the advantage of this move so I'm guessing it will be a new AW only chassis design like the m15x or m17x and not a rebrand of the Clevo M980.
With the move to 16:9 screens it would have to be a new chassis and not an update of an existing laptop. My choice would be 17.3" or 17.6" screens (with 2042x1152 res! that Dell uses on their desktop lcd) in a laptop that's got the thickness of the XPS M1730 or the AW M17/M17x (1.75" to 2.1").
I'd also love it if they gave the option for either ATI or Nvidia GPUs like they do in the M15x. -
we alreaqdy covered this itsa a 17 inch and its going to be something your used to .... maybe made by quanta
its not a rebrand
-
it wouldnt be because quadcore has issues with m17 and 4870s maybe too hot ect, so theyve made new laptop!!!!!
maybe we wont be able to upgrade after all.
someone tell me im wrong -
your very very wrong
Arima is the ones working on heat issues if Arima doesn't fix this they loose alot of money ......
new laptops will always be coming out ....if they made a new laptop every time somethign went wrong we would be swimming in them -
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
Wow. This is slightly disappointing. The M17 debuted on November 3rd, 2008, and now there's something new just around the corner.
As for the 4870 upgrade in the M17, did Alienware ever say this was a possibility, or has it been speculation from the get-go?
And even with 4870's and the QX9300, will the M17 hang with this new laptop? -
it will hang duh!!!
lmao turbod you so gloomy
both will have montevina and ddr3 and 4870's why would they not score the same?
the new laptop maybe strangly similar to one out right now
the m9750 is gonna die -
The M9750 seems to be the laptop that won't die. How many more T7600s do they have anyway?
-
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=355235
there you go turbod
if AW trys to deny it i will bring hell to them -
Maybe the new "Allpowerful" will be based on the M9750 Chassis with an Extreme 3.33 and a bronze finish. lol
-
cheers mooo.... i hope your right i just got in from work and read this and thought
-
i know im right or i will be an angry Cow
like i said Arima is banking on the notebook
