Alienware Sales Assistance Thread, Redux

Does anyone know if Dell will eventually offer the 4GB GTX 680M in the M18X that other manufacturers are offering in their laptops? I'm looking to get the best performance I possibly can on my next laptop purchase.

 

now i am VERY interested.. how do i go about contacting Rachid. I live in canada and have almost no way of getting discounts. the most i ever got was $100 but that was including keyboard/backpack/mouse etc.. stuff i really dont need lol.

I've been wondering how much of a discount I can expect for an m17x (3610or3720 1080p 680m) laptop. I was hoping to order a laptop this weekend or next week and was wondering if the $200 off on the website at the moment is as good as it gets or can I expect better from the Reps on this website?

Well, considering when I attempted to contact them a week ago, they somehow lost contact with me.

I called them today and they literally quoted me the price from the website, which was a bit disappointing, because that price is literally 400-600$ more than their competitors for similar hardware specifications.

I've tried several times to contact them again about it, but have so far been unsuccessful.

Just got off the phone with alienware/dell again*I called them*, and they will not budge from the price they quoted me, which is the price on the website. When mentioning the fact that I can purchase similar hardware for 400-600$ cheaper, he just gave me the scripted answer. When I mentioned you can get the same m17x r4 through xotixpc for 200$ less, he said they don't price match.

Between losing contact for 6 days *still can't get a hold of the guy that originally emailed me*, and not budging on the price, they have probably pushed me to an alternate vendor.

Unless they contact me.

 

So are the reps from this thread not able to beat the website price anymore?

 

Dunno. Haven't been in contact with them since initial contact, which was 6 days ago.

 

Where are you located? My sales rep was Tarik@XPS who contacted me after I spoke to Rashid. I am in Canada though. I'm surprised if Rev wasn't able to help you out but I have a feeling that maybe the higher-ups in Dell might be tightening everything down.

 

I see, well I was sorta thinking of ordering from other vendors like HIDevolution because I can get the computer shipped so much faster I just thought I could get a better deal by contacting them but yea I get paid later today and I wanted to get here ASAP so I guess I'll just order from another place. Yeah whatever you can do to reduce the waiting game is a good idea, that's about the second hardest part after paying the bill of course

 

Well, for me it wasn't even about the waiting. It was about the free xbox.

That was my experience. When I finally heard back from the rep Rev had handed me over to, he just gave me the same price as the website and no budging from that.

 

Call 1-800-ALIENWARE and try negotiating a better deal. If the person you talk to doesn't give you a nicer price than the web site, end the conversation and call back and try talking to a different sales rep. Some are flexible and willing to negotiate and with others it will just be a waste of time trying to talk to them. Good sales people understand that the ticket to their financial success is high volume, not trying to maximizing their profit from each customer. Better to sell 10 systems at a profit of $250 each than 3 or 4 at a profit of $500 each.

Maybe Rev will see your posts and have a chat with the person that wanted you to pay full retail (web) pricing.

I understand all this, but what was the purpose of this thread if the person he pushes me to, won't contact me?

Well I was on a time table to try and get a free xbox, but now that it's over, I'm not rushed to be buying a laptop now.

Unless it's some kind of awesome deal, I don't mind waiting for christmas, or even next gen hardware now.

I dont know if this is right thread or not but i really disappointment with dell Canada.

i wanted to purchase m17x r4 $1,999.99. Just customized it and changed the graphics to 680m. While i was purchasing the coupon on dell website didnt work. So i chatted with customer service. They told me the coupon expired. How ever on the website it says expires on November 2, 2012. I told them that it is not expired. Then they told me the system i want to purchase is already discounted. However on the website it says, Save $150 on ALL Home and Home Office Laptops and Desktops when you spend over $1799.99 with coupon code 70LLD$58KVRX1$ - Limited Quantity.. I have 2 xps computers. I had no problem when purchasing them but this very very disappointed. Not for they dont give me discount. I was disappointed because they dont care!

 

The coupon code says limited quantity. How long has the coupon code been out? Since the description for the coupon code is for all machines, I can see that the coupon could have been used up before you used it.

 

Yes true, thats why i asked dell customer service. They never told me the truth tho.
