mig909 (and others, if it applies) - send a PM direct to the reps involved (rev, for example, for US orders) and you'll get results faster. I don't think they regularly check this board, and more just look for PM's from folks.

So, send 'em a PM with the complete specs for your desired system, and they may be able to get back to you faster.

Same problem I've had to raise a dispute with my bank as Dell decided to send me a laptop I didn't order, take $4000 and then ignore email and calls, been going on three weeks now. The problem is the agents in India are on commission and just want a sale regardless, once they have the money they disappear.

    Gutted, Angry, Very Disappointed

    The saga...

Ordered my new M18X on 28th September, 30th September, confirmation received. 8th October, I rang Dell to find out what was happening as i was still on Pre-Production and was told that the motherboard was out of stock and not being replenished, as of the 2nd October.... No-one had told me anything.

It's been over 7 weeks now with no Alienware Pc and to find that my order was on hold from the 2nd day or order confirmation, very very disappointed Dell.

    OB

P.S. Apparently someone from sales is going to ring me today... guess I'll wait and see if that happens...

I now have to cancel and rebook my order....

Be very careful cancelling and re-booking, I was advised to do that and now they have taken the money twice from my account - and I have no laptops and they are refusing to refund any money until they go through the entire delivery process, return process and then 10 working days after that a refund might be applied to my account. All of this on the advice of their sales reps that the order had be cancelled - they were never cancelled and they say it's not their problem speak to customer service.

This may sound silly, but since being new here I hopefully can have some leeway with silly questions. How exactly do I send a PM, since the option does not seem to be popping up for me?

Went to send Rev a PM and got this...No longer helping peeps?

rev has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove rev from the recipient list and send the message again.

    Hey Alienware reps,

I ordered my m17x R4 (nvidia 680m) on september 25th, with an EDT of 10/8... but I've been delayed to 10/15 and NO ONE will return my phone calls.

The sales manager who I ordered through offered to expedite my order (days prior to the delay) and give me a $100 towards any accessory I wanted because he could do nothing about the Intel CPU refresh that came out days after I ordered. And I emailed him back with the mouse I wanted and he said it was ordered.

Lies. I called the US Sales team and I was told it was just an open quote, no order was ever placed for the mouse.

Seriously, if I have to call back again tomorrow, heads will roll. I can only leave so many voicemail messages for the sales team that I ordered through. This is just flat out awful customer service.

Hi Tarik. Please advise what's up with Rev. Should I be closing this thread down, or is the contact person for US Alienware Sales going to be handed off from Rev to someone else? Feel free to reply by PM if it is more appropriate than posting.

Hey everyone, Sorry for not being online for a few days. I had a very, very last minute trip that took me out of town for some training's. While I was there my inbox filled up and I did not have many connectivity options where I was. Inbox has been cleared out so feel free to send your PM's if you need some help.

Again sorry for the delay and the misunderstanding. Let me know if I can help.

Deleyed my computer for another 10days 1 day before the scheduled ship date. Had plans around that date. Paid full interwebs price for it like a dumdum too lol. Configured a sager with better specs for hundereds less so unless they make it worth my while im canceling/sending it back and just gonna buy the sager....

I think if its still in Pre production or order processing you can still cancel and get a refund, dell should only take payment when it has been dispatched, could always order your machine again with any discounts you can find.

There should be a option to chat online about the status of your order specifically (not the sales chat) and they will be able to help you. Buy the alienware :), just be patient, they will probably be able to give you a nice discount as well :), the base and lid of the machine is whats holding up production at the moment (I am still in pre production).

    Where you buying from?

Like I said unless they make it worth my while im giving it back once it does get to me or canceling now. I do love alienware but between the sager being MUCH cheaper. Thus sudden delay ill be going sager unless alienware changes my mind which I know for a fact they could. Just a matter of if they want to.....

I never saw a pre production. Order pending straight to production?? I bought straight off the alienware website.

Ive been told by a few people here that I should be able to cancel my order at anytime or send it back once it gets to me all with no restocking fees or shipping charges...

I want to find someone here with alienware 1 because they seemed to be more in touch and want to help more than the average cs rep on the phone and 2 I want them to make me stay alienware....

Sager doesnt have the looks or frills of alienware and im well aware that alienware has the better warranty but when I can get the same specs for damn near 1k cheaper im gonna consuder it....

Also the sager gets the 4gb 680m vs the 2gb 680m from alienware. Yea yea nit gonna notice a duffetence mist games dont use 2gb even but bottom line is 4gb> 2gb.....

To be more exact the sager specs exactly the same with the best screen offered AND gaurenteed shipping in 2 byssiness days.... also with the 4gb 680m and 2gb more ram came to $2193 while I paid over $2800 for the alienware. Yes I get 1.3" more on the 18x and a few frills but for that price difference ill for sure consider it...

Please please dont get me wrong here. Im not raggin on alienware in fact ive loved every single one ive had and hope someone from alienware can sway me back.... like I said I know they can Its just if they want to and im not asking them for a free computer or 50% off. Just sonething to knock me off the fence on this....

Ok, it took me all morning to get through this thread whenever I had a few minutes to work on it, and I guess I'm about ready to send Rev my PM.

Basically I have two questions, the first being, is it possible to identify the configuration of a model based on its extended model number? Amazon has a Alienware M17x R4 AM17xR4-7526BK listed for $1642 which seems incredibly low, but its missing some important infor, like what video card its using. What it does have is listed below:
    Intel Core i7 3610QM 3.6 GHz
750 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
    17-Inch Screen w/ 1920x1080 pixels
    Windows 8
    16 GB DDR3 SDRAM
    Hard Drive 750 GB
    Wireless Type Bluetooth
Number of USB 2.0 Ports 1
Number of USB 3.0 Ports 2
    Hard Drive Interface Serial ATA
Hard Drive Rotational Speed 7200 RPM

So, obviously I'd rather order from Dell directly (especially if I can get one with Windows 7 still since this one has 8), but I can't seem to come up with a build anywhere close to this for under $2300. I know it seems unlikely, but I figured it was worth at least asking here and giving it a shot.

Ok, Rev. PM is away. Thanks for any help.

Good morning everyone. I have just finished going through all of the weekend PM's. Thanks to everyone who has gotten in touch, and let us know if you need any further follow up.

It is with deep regret that I inform you all that I will no longer be as much of a presence on this forum as I have been. I have moved on to a little bit of a different role here in the company and my focus will be elsewhere, however I would like to introduce Andrew@Dell. He will be your US Alienware sales specialist on this forum and is happy to help you all with what he can. He will be taking over for me so that there is no gap in quotes created for you. Andrew and I have worked closely together in the past and he is someone I trust personally to help you all with your questions and concerns. I will still be online and if you need to get in touch with me please feel free to continue to send me PM's. I want to thank all of you as I have found a great home on these pages and will continue to be a NBR forum regular.

The process for quote creation will remain the same. Just send Andrew your contact information ) First and last name, Billing addy, email addy, phone number) as well as the config you are looking for and he can get it over to the guys that will be in contact with you.

Like I said if you need anything just hit me up and I will do my best for you as always.

Thanks again for reaching out everyone,
    Rev.
