Im wanting to buy my Alienware in the next couple weeks. I'll need a US rep. Hopefully there will be some good deals during the holidays. Im wanting an M18x maxed out.

 

I'm curious on the deals available, knowing that 'M18x maxed out' for what I spec runs SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. So, yeah, very curious what kind of deals can be offered, as we near Christmas time...

Looking for some advice, guys. Going to be pulling the trigger on the new system sometime around the end of the year or so - historically, when are the best sales; Black Friday type events, or Christmas time, or early January, or when? I figure there will probably be some specials offered at these times, but trying to figure out when the best time to buy might be. Any thoughts?

Im pretty much in the same boat as the guy above, decided to cancel my order on the lenovo y580 in hopes il get a nice deal on alienware come blackfriday

I haven't followed these threads as closely lately, but I don't remember Alienware doing many black friday or holiday deals.

I've seen the best deals coming from the military discount or various corporate discounts if you're with a certain company, etc...
Most are from just finding the right rep who can and is willing to mark them down a ton.

i have some questions, please help. I want to buy an M18X Alienware...what should i choose, Crossfire 7970m HD or SLI GTX 680m? I use the laptop mostly for games, no video editing or photo editing or something like that. Also i want to buy a ssd 256 GB. Can i put another HDD of 750 GB or bigger latter on this laptop? There is space for it, bay and everything that i need for that? Andrew i wanted to PM you with this questions but did not know how to do it. Please help, i want to make the order tomorrow on black friday .

I received my quote today after contacting Andrew, but it was the same full price I got off the Alienware builder last week. However the Dell rep said her quote included 2 discounts I qualify for? Do some people really get up to 20% off by following the process in this thread?

 

Sometimes. It mainly depends on the time of year and current discounts. If there aren't discounts available, they'll like offer you one that is not available purchasing directly through the website.

I just got another email from Dell. After going through this they are willing to give me a 2% discount. Thats $70 off a $3500 machine. Thats the same deal the phone rep offered me last week. What a waste of time.

 

I was told I'd receive a call by Monday, it's now Wednesday and still nothing. Though if what kmeyer is saying is true that they are offering a 2% discount right now I won't be buying anyway. I'm really disappointed if that's the case, I was really excited to buy one.
