Gah, food poisoning sucks. There is this one chinese place near where I work, food tastes great, but ya get sick as a dog afterwards. Ate there a few times over the course of a few months, got sick each time. Never again.

Why a new thread to ask about your email quote? The reason is unclear. Did you get a quote from an Alienware Sales rep here at NBR?

 

Yes, I got a quote, but he's off atm, I was just asking in case anyone has gotten a quote before knows how he used it if there are any other options instead of paying by phone.
I needed a quick response and posted this ASAP to see if any members can answer this quickly since this seems like a simple questions for people that experienced using Quotes from a sales rep..

I'd say if you are wanting to proceed with the quote you had, call up and have someone else help you out. If you can give them the quote reference etc, I am sure someone would be more than willing to discuss your order in lieu of the absentee sales rep. You can then also ask about method of payment....I think you can use electronic funds transfer if you don't like giving someone your card details...saying that, if you approached Dell about your quote, I'd bet my bottom penny that you won't have a problem with security/fraud if that's what you are worried about....

If you have received a discounted quote from the rep, you won't be able to place the order online as there is no way for you to personally amend the price - if there was, we'd all be doin' it LOL

Been trying to buy my second Alienware laptop (M17x) and am having serious trouble with Dell US at the mo. Placed first order weeks ago, and about a week after I got emailed saying it had been cancelled due to lack of a component. I called up and re-placed the order with upgraded component. Just got emailed about a week after that to say that it has been cancelled *again*. This is like a $2000 laptop - do they not want my money?

Anyway, got some great support here with my first ever order of an Alienware so am hoping someone can rescue me - am about to give up!

Hello I would like to know if I can buy an alienware in the USA and than use the warranty in Portugal.
I'm asking these because I have a friend who's going to USA to study and he can buy it for me since I can't buy it in Portugal but the warranty is my concern, because if the pc breaks or happens something with him I don't know if I can have use the warranty in Portugal, can you help me?

 

Yes, the warranty can be transferred from the US to Portugal. When your friend moves back he can transfer his warranty online. The warranty in Portugal could differ a bit on what is covered (for instance in home coverage).

Hello guys, I am thinking of getting a Alienware M14X R2 after selling off my M11X. Where and which website is the best and cheapest to buy? I am currently looking at xoticpc.com and ebay (for refurbished unit). Dell website pricing is quite high and the tax is killing me too

Specs i am looking for:

i7 3610qm
1gb nvidia gt650m
8gb ram
500gb hdd
1600 x 900 resolution

Looking for around $1150 and below, do you think I can hit that price point with the specs I just mentioned?

A lot depends on availability of certain parts. Those parts in high demand, such as 680m Sli, can delay your order if they are out of stock. A general rule of thumb would be around 2 weeks from order to delivery, from my nine experiences.

 

Also depends on demand for the system itself. I bought my r3 about a month after it came out so demand was super high. I had to wait almost a month for mine to finally get to my house. Was definitely worth the wait though!!

On upgrade of 3740 with less price, yes you save 2197-1854=343 more. Do you mind sharing your source or rep? I am considering picking one up.
Another suggestion. I will choose 500GB + 128MB msata SSD booting drive instead of 1TB RAID 0 simply because of faster booting and more safety of storage data.
