Alright, looking around some more it appears that as I live in the States, Andrew is the person I should talk to?

Also, as it appears that I'm also unable to receive PMs until I reach 5 posts, I'll do that first and then PM Andrew directly.

Well, pulled the trigger on my systems. Total discount, if you look at the completely undiscounted price on the website vs. what I paid was almost 19% off - 18.75%, for you math purists.

I'm generally satisfied - my only real disappointment stemmed from the website deal being pretty good to start with (both my systems started at 12% off on the website, before I called to order) meaning there wasn't a lot more they could give me; as a result, when I first looked at the rep's offer, I was a little non-plussed. After looking at it from a total discount perspective, I felt good enough about it to place the order.

At any rate, thanks to Rachid and Andrew for their assistance.

So, yeah, future M18X owner, right here. Excuse me, need to go get my key to the super exclusive owner's lounge....

(whatya mean there isn't a key????)

That's better than the 14.67% I got (4.67% better than the online sale).

I would think that the fact that you were buying 2 systems at the same time worked in your favor though.

The way I look at it, I saved enough to basically get the 4 year warranty with 4 year accidental for free.

Dunno, honestly. The base model itself (lowest config) says 1500 when I checked the website; if you could get say 15% off, that'd put you at 1275, but that'd be before tax - you'd end up getting back up in the neighborhood of 1400 after tax, depending on your tax rate. Could always call and ask, but that might be tough - with the sales currently running it seems to be tough to get much more movement.

I do see that there are not currently any deals offered on the base m17x - so you may get them to apply the current sale or something - but then again, the reps I spoke to were somewhat reluctant. Best guess, you could give it a shot, but under 1300 (especially after tax) might be a little optimistic.

(Oh, and just to be clear, I am most certainly NOT an alienware rep - I'm just speculating here! I'd hate for you to call them and say 'This guy on the internet said I could have 15% off!' :) )

This is absolutely maddening. I have been trying to give my money to these reps and none of them have bothered to respond to my PMs. Also, just purchased my mom a dell system for email/word processing. Not only did they send me a lower end model than that I paid for, it appeared to be used because there was not the he typical plastic over the keyboard and there were finger prints. Not looking forward to wasting 3 hours of my weekend on the phone with Dell. If I were you guys, I'd go with a company who cares about your business and has better prices to start with.

    Hey Guys,

I have responded to all the PMs that I have received. I will be away from the office for over a week. While I am gone, please forward over any messages to Rachid@dell . He will be able to forward any questions to one of my teammates who is not on the forum who can help.

    thank you all.

Just for clarification, the process is you PM them with your system, and the quote process goes from there - so you'd need to initiate it with a PM. They generally don't respond to just a post here.

(You may have done this and not been contacted, in which case I would understand your frustration - but just in case you hadn't dropped a PM to rachid or one of the other reps, give that a try)

I just ordered my new laptop from a lady I have been dealing with for a while on other pcs and she always gave me a good deal. Here is what I got. Let me put it this way. This build is $2300 on the site. The REP's here would only take off $50. I called her, and this is what she sold me the laptop for WITH a 3 Year Onsite warranty!!! Upgraded to the 675m, and 1920x1080 display. I have a 256gb M4 SSD and 16gb Vengence memory ready to go in it from my other laptop I sold. :)

Sorry for the n00b question, but do any of these deals apply to Laptops purchased with financing or is it only for machines that are paid outright?
My M15X is starting to chug and stutter when playing games and I'm looking at getting a new machine.
    Thanks

Hi! I have recently tried to purchase Alienware m17x with Installment plan, but the website said "this financial option cannot be offered today". I'm really serious about getting the Aleinware, but my budget is up to $1350, and I really need some discount so I can pay for this laptop on my own. I am planning onto pay through the installment plan and discounts do certainly make it easier for me to pay without asking my parents for money to buy the laptop. My current laptop unfortunately got fried because of its battery exploding, and my seller could not refund me or give me replacement because it was out of warranty. So dell's installment plan is perfect for me to utilize paying for the laptop on my own. My current configuration is below

This may be the wrong place to post this, but I can't find a more suitable thread/forum. I remember a couple of years ago there was a sub forum dedicated to laptop deals/coupons, or was it specifically Dell/AW? In any case could've been another site, but just wondering if this site has something similar to see if there's a new 25% off coupon or something for laptops.

@kyuss I believe Dell has a 12 month 0% interest financing option for dell preferred accounts. Only downside is you pay directly from your bank acct, no credit cards.

    Hello,

I am planning to buy a laptop this moth, and I am very interested in m17x. I would like to have geforce 680m and i7 processor as well as this combination of 500gb HDD + 128 SSD boot drive. On website this build was too expensive for me, and I would like to know what would be the best deal I could get.
The second question is about "Accidental Damage Service"; is it possible to buy 1 year for now, and in couple on months (maybe even in 1 month) buy extra 2 or 3 years? I really would like to get it, but it would make the price even higher...

:( No response so far from the reps. Was hoping to see if there are any discounts on the extended warranty. On a side note, anyone know if it is possible to buy the extended warranty from dell at a discounted rate?

I am looking at getting a new laptop. I currently own an m18x r1 i7-2720qm with xf 6970 and it has been great for me. I will probably end up giving this to my daughter.

m18x r2: main options I will add at config time are:
    3rd Generation Intel® Ivy Bridge Core™ i7-3940XM Extreme Edition (OVERCLOCKED to 4.2GHz, 8MB Intel® Smart Cache, 55W Max TDP) + [3rd Heatseink & IC Diamond]
    Alienware - SLi ENABLED DUAL (2) 2048MB PCI-Express nVIDIA GTX 680M's (4096MB Total) w/ GDDR5 DX11 Video Cards
    Bigfoot Networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1202 + Bluetooth 4.0 (Dual Band)
    4159.00

I will do my harddrives and RAM aftermarket (newegg) (I may do the optical drive bay with a HD since that is a PITA to do yourself on the Alienware)

Games I am currently playing: SC2 HOTS, Bioshock Infinite, Skyrim, Crysis 3

Is there any advantage to buying from Dell? (Dell charges sales tax where xotic does not)

I have owned several Alienwares (m17xr1, m17xr2, m18x, m14x, m11x) and those are the laptops I have kept and still work to this day (given to wife, kids, etc) whereas I have also had Sagers and Asus in the past and those have always failed after time in one way or another (whether hardware, or build things such as hinges or such that lead to hoopdieness).

Now, I am contemplating on where I should get it from. The fact that I can get the options I want: (i7-3940XM EE OC, 2xGTX680m) for $4159 +$54 shipping from xotic, plus they offer a discount for cash.

I am hoping a rep could help me (don't much care for trying to communicate by phone unless I have a definite and specific person to talk to) who might be able to match what xotic does including my bottom line (read: sales tax), when I added my options on Dell site, the total came to $4,544.66 ($4179 + $365.66 stax).

Curious, people say to call in to haggle. Does haggling work on the business side too if one is interested in a precision? Or do they assume if you're on the business side you have money?

Since I don't have enough posts under my belt to PM a user here (although I've been a lurking member since Feb, 2012), maybe I can get one of the available Dell/Alienware Sales Reps to take a look at the config below and PM me? I imagine a phone call would then ensue, once contact info had been given ;-)
