    Hi Rev and Rachid,

I have been looking at buying a new gaming laptop and have been pricing it out on the sager website. One of my friends recommended alienware to me as an alternative and directed me here to talk to you as sales reps.

The specs I am looking for is the following or better

    3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3840QM Processor ( 8MB L3 Cache, 2.80GHz) (also pending release I may wait for the new haswell chips)
Dual AMD Radeon HD 7970M GPU with 2GB GDDR5 Video Memory in CrossFireX mode
    24GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz - 3 X 8GB
    Raid 0 2x 750gb 7200rpm SATA HD
Intel 180GB 525 Series mSATA SSD - Preconfigured as an OS Drive (Primary Drive C)
    Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module
Win 7 pro or win 8

Current Price ***** ill leave blank as I am not sure if talking on the forums is the right place to be doing prices however once contacted I would like to see if you can match of better the price they have given me

I am sadly unable to PM yet as this is my first post however it may let me reply to one from you if you contact me that way. If not I will be watching this forum closely

    Thanks!

Also I dont understand why so many people keep on posting the specs they want when the reps constantly tell us to pm them.

    Just PM'd Rachid, asking if I could get a M17x R4 with:
    • INTEL i7 @3Ghz +
    • NVIDIA GTX 680M
    • 1080p 17.3" Screen
    • 8 - 12 GB 1600MHz RAM
    • SSD Boot Drive + 1TB Storage
for $2250 Max, and if I could, if I could still do so with the new R5 with a 780M - here's hoping things work out!

They aren't really cutting them yet price-wise...I checked with the outlet, and they had some sick M18xR2 configs, but they were still 3k after 30% off coupon...I'm surprised they aren't cutting these prices further.

Got them down an additional $200...They are basically willing to knock off an additional $400 off of the package prices from the site, at least the most expensive ones...So a loaded M18xR2 for about 2771 before taxes...Pretty good deal, not sure what to do here.

Hi Rachid, can we still get a quote on a system even though we already placed an order? I was thinking of getting a quote on a slightly better system than the one I already ordered. I got an 18 with 765m SLI but want a quote on one with the 770m SLI. Hoping to get a better deal than the $100 off I was given on the one I ordered. I realize I don't have enough posts to PM, but I will shoot you a PM as soon as I can.

I can't private message yet as I don't have 5 posts (almost there) but as I mentioned I have an existing order in for an m18x and would like to see about changing it to an 18 if I can get the price close to what I have for the m18x. m18x was suppose to be delivered tomorrow but delayed until the 24th now and I have seen other people post that it's just delay after delay.

Edit: Forgot to mention I am in the US

I tried chatting with the Alienware sales experts yesterday to try to get a deal, but wow, what a clueless bunch of people.
I made a configuration and saved it. The sale expert took a look on it to offer me a better deal. It was Alienware 17 with 120Hz and GTX 780M. Costed me around $2750.

The freaking sale "expert" gave me a "offer" on a Alienware 17 with GTX 770 and stock 60Hz display, for $2500! What a ripoff. That cost even more than if you make that configuration on the site yourself. Do they try to scam people who don`t know tech and think they get a good deal from these sale people?

I was shocked and tried to tell him that I know inside out on the newest technology, and asked if he tried to scam me. He said he was sorry and was gonna make another offer for me and send it to my email.

Didn`t hear anything back from him.

    What a complete moron

What percentage discount should you typically expect from haggling with them??
I put two laptops into my cart (Canadian site) - Alienware M14 for $1499, and a 15" Inspiron for $399. Saved the cart, did online chat asking for discount since I was looking to buy two laptops. All they offered was $100 off the total after tax....

Is Dell not giving any discounts on the new systems at all now?? I have talked to two different agents just now on chat, and neither of them have wanted to help me out. I got $150 off right off the bat a couple of nights ago on a cheaper system. And now they cant even match that..... I might just cancel the order I have already put in and wait or go somewhere else. And to make matters worse, the agent I was just talking to wanted to charge me an extra $100 for 750GB SATA 3Gb/s (7,200 RPM) + 64GB mSATA SSD Caching, which is included in the price of the second option online....

I have been doing a lot of research, here is what i've compiled on some tips and tricks to getting discounts without even haggling.

    1. 100$ off dell laptop priced at 999$ or more. code: KD8T76PX1RR$T1 (expires august 8th)
    2. Student program: 200$ egift card after purchase of dell system priced at 700$ or higher. (If your not a student or don't access to a students help then you can always get 5% back of your purchase in the form of an egift card via the dell advantage program)
    3. All orders qualify for free 2 day shipping
    4. 3% off of your system with a dell preferred account. If you don't qualify for a DPA you can try talking them into giving you the discount anyways.
    5. This one is tricky. If you buy a 400$ gift cards you will receive a 75$ promo egift card that expires in 90 days. You are able to stack gift cards up to 2000$ high if you call on the phone. So with 4-5 75$ promo cards you can get some nice gear to go with your new system (can only use 1 or 2 promo cards per purchase though)... The downfall I see on this idea is if you buy a system with gift cards your unable to return it. So take that bribary 375$ in gift cards with a grain of salt. *Expires June 19th, but similar promo gift cards change on a weekly basis*

Side Note: The M18 was discounted on the website for 42$ off earlier at normal price, because they probably aren't selling as many as they'd like to, but when I checked back that automatic discount was removed.. So I guess they changed their mind. :) I'd wait it out.

Thanks, SecretlyElmo, I did manage to find a rep willing to make a small deal. It just wasn't where I wanted it to be to go through canceling and reordering. So I'm just going to stick with the AW 18 with Dual 765m and upgrade it at a later date. Again thank you for the tips, hopefully it can help someone else going through a similar problem.

LOL I have tried for several days to get better deal on the Alienware 17 with GTX 780m and 120hz screen and the best Deal I got was $60 down.

I think the interest is too big at the moment where customers literally throw money at Dell, so for those who want to get better deals might be better off waiting a few months til the interest have gone down

I can't PM since I'm a n00b on here, but here's what I'm looking at if anyone can give me a quote or help out. I was either going to get a desktop or a laptop, but I can't decide. I know this is a notebook site, so I don't know if Dell/Alienware will give me a quote for the desktop, but it's worth a shot. I'm also a college student if that makes a difference.

Just regular reps on chat and by phone. I have decided to just keep the system I ordered first and upgrade it at a later date. I just can't believe the rep was trying to charge me an extra $100 on a setup that includes the 750GB SATA 3Gb/s (7,200 RPM) + 64GB mSATA SSD Caching. But oh well it is what it is I guess.
