HAHA! Sounds familiar!![]()
The soldered stuff does present some issue. That's why I tend to want to buy more than I need now because I will probably need it in a few years anyway.
It would be hard for Dell to lose me regardless. Our local tech's are spectacular and would hate to lose that "safety" of the warranty.
NP Rev! I'll hit ya up as soon as I can!![]()

I am looking to spend around £2000 on an alienware, what sort of discount is the norm?

My name is jonny and I live-in Asahi-shi, Chiba, Japan.
I want to order an alienware m18x r2 and the configuration I would like runs 550,000 yen on the site...I'm looking to get a deal...if I can get it lowered to 500k yen even I can buy it July 15...I've been to alienware in akihabara but I wanted to see if you could put me in touch with any English speaking reps who can help me out...my Japanese is still very bad
I appreciate any help or advice you can give me

I will send you a PM with my corporate email and phone number. Right now, I don't have any contact in Dell Japan but I will do my best to find one and help you with this purchase.
If you can't get my PM, just let me know and we will figure out a way to communicate, smoke signals maybe
Rachid -
Just received my M18x today, it was scheduled to be here on July 2nd. Needless to say I'm happy, but man is this thing huge!!!! LOL, Even the power brick blows me away. Just downloading all my games to it and can't wait to try them out.
Thanks again to Rachid and Tarik. -
I'd appreciate a hand resolving a current order I have placed.
It appears the brand-spanking-new 680m SLI option for the M18xr2 is selecting the default 240W power brick instead of the 330W upgraded power brick that is seemingly necessary for the dual GPUs.
Brief highlights of my saga for resolving this are in this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m18x/673041-who-has-order-m18x-680m-sli-2.html#post8657971 (thanks to Ironleaf for pointing me to this thread - I'm a bit new around here!)
I've been told that it's not resolvable unless I cancel the order and place a new one (which would *still* select the wrong power brick and just move my delivery date back).
The one rep I reached that agreed with me that the assumption of wrong power supply is correct tells me that they're on back-order with no note when they'll be available again.
If one of you "locals" could lend a hand to straighten this out (and apparently for anyone else ordering this config), it'd be greatly appreciated. I might be more willing to do the cancel order and redo it if you could save me a few bucks to offset the later date
Thanks!

Well I call it an event, but we did a live broadcast with Donnie Oliphant on the new XPS systems on Wednesday. Was a ton of fun but there is a lot that goes into it so it got me swamped for a bit.
Shoot me a PM with your order number, customer, or Purchase ID. I have also touched base with Ironleaf and am aware of the issue. Would love to offer my assistance.
Rev.
Hey everyone, Quotes may be a little delayed today as my phone teams are swamped at the moment, I will get them out ASAP and I appreciate your patience with us when we get busy.
Rev. -
PM sent! Many thanks!
-
I sent a PM a few days ago and got no reply...
-
If you PM'd Rev he did mention he would be away at a work related event sometime last week.
-
I PM'd Rachid. Thanks though.
-
Rev - found you via Bill on another forum and will PM you with details for a quote. There are 2 of us looking at purchasing XPS 15's.
-
I'm looking to upgrade my warranty on a M14x. I'm under 1 year basic. Any possibility to upgrade to 3/4 years either basic or with accidental?
-
Rev, sent you a PM.
Thank you in advance! -
Bout to comb through PM's now and hit you back, thanks.
If you have already purchased the laptop and are extending you can do a total of 5 years, the max you can get at time of purchase will be 4 years. So as long as you haven't already upgraded an existing warranty too far you should be good. Send me the service tag if you already have the system. Otherwise let me know how I can help.
Thank you for reaching out, you should hear from me soon.
Alright everyone, hope you had a great weekend. I am about to hit all the PM's I got up over the weekend and it's looking like a decent amount so expect a small delay in me getting back to you.
Thanks everyone,
Rev. -
Rev,
I currently do not have PM rights as I am much more a reader of these boards than a regular poster. I am currently trying to help a coworker find 2 PCs for his twin boys who are heading to college this fall. Last year, I had a rep named Amberly help me on a m17x r3. I advised my coworker to contact her, but the email came back undeliverable. I was wondering if your quotes are limited to Alienware machines or if you could help him out on a couple of Inspirons he is interested in? Please PM me if this would be possible.
Thanks! -
Looks like you're almost to PM status there. I'll shoot you a PM and you can hit me back but I'll be more than happy to get someone on your inspirons.
Thanks for reaching out.
Hey everyone, Ok so I'd like to say I'll be out the rest of the week due to a deal breaking business trip but the truth of the matter is that it's time to head to the lake for a holiday.
So during my absence Rachid will be collecting my PM's for me and getting them over to my guys in the US. This is going to make his schedule a little heavy. It may take a little longer to get the PM's back to you due to there being so many.
So if you send me a PM after today there is a good chance I will miss it ( my internets don't work under water )
I will be clearing everything out of my inbox up until 5pm today so after 5 please send them over to Rachid and thanks Rachid@Dell I owe you one buddy, BIG TIME.
Thanks for your patience everyone and remember I'm here till 5 PM CST today so continue leveraging me until then. I'll be back on Monday the 9th so feel free to start PMing me on Saturday and I'll get them bright and early.

EDIT well I can't get my pm to go though /: so ill just post it here as its not vary personal but anyways
Ok I talked to someone yesterday about financing and I have a few more questions about
1 is there a down payment and if so how much and if it depends on what the cost of the computer is mine is priced around 2500
And 2 when do I start payments like if it takes a month or so for the computer to come and stuff like that
Thanks For Your Time

Hey I see what you mean about the PM's I just got 7 of them from you, lol. Sent you one back.
-
Sorry haha and alright
Sent From My Rooted EVO 3D -
Rev,
I'm going to shoot you a PM and if you don't get to it in time, that's fine. It sounds like Rachid help out. -
LOL, no worries. I checked my PM's before I checked the board so I figured it was something like that.
Still an hour and a half left in the day. I'll post on the board as soon as I'm out for the week, but feel free to PM me. -
Well, never mind. I didn't realize that once you post the fifth post, you have to wait till 11 pm Est to get the privilege of using PM. That's my bad.
-
I really just wanted to say thanks to Rev for his help and hooking me up with Adam on his team!
Adam couldn't have been any more help than he was. I made the purchase on Friday, but then decided today that I wanted to upgrade to i7-3820QM (via extra $$ from my awesome boss). I didn't think this was possible, but he made it happen! Plus, he helped me build (what looks like) a boss machine!
Now just tick tock til this baby arrives!!
-
I'll send you a PM, see if you can reply to it.
It was both mine and Adam's pleasure to help you out, just let us know if we need to follow up for anything.
Bah, should have known, it won't let me send you a PM until you have the rights to answer them I guess. Hit Rachid up and if I need to I will follow up, But you're in good hands with him.
Hey everyone, I'm out for the week starting as soon as you see this post. thanks for all of your patience and time and also for reaching out. I'll see you on Monday. In the meantime reach out to Rachid@Dell and he will be your point of contact for the US temporarily until I get back.
Regards,
Rev. -
Enjoy your time off Rev and have fun buddy.

Resending --
Rev originally responded to me that this was a known problem and he'd have a rep contact me to resolve the issue. It's been two working days, four days total, with no word and I'm out of time before I have to cancel this order. I'm losing that newly restored faith rather quickly... -
Thanks for the help!
-
Rev is off until the end of the week, could you please send a PM with your phone number and I will have a rep call you today.
Thanks -
PM sent. So far, Dell is shooting 0 for 3 in reps that can fix a simple order line item. You're not getting a 5th chance.
-
Just sent you a PM, please let me know what you think.
Rachid -
Much more acceptable than any other response I've seen from Dell in the past week and a half, though still not a perfect solution.
The order that is written in stone is the crux of my frustration and I find it unbelievable that Dell would handcuff it's sales reps to the point they really prefer not to call me back rather than to give me that answer. -
Just joined.
Thanks & enjoy :d -
Welcome Tarik! I hope to stop being a pain in the butt soon
-
Also asking about the xps 15. Let me know
I hope when you mean "There are 2 of us," you mean me
-
Howdy Everyone,
I was wondering if there was a way to get a more detailed update of a new laptop build than what is provided on the order page? My order is in the 'In Production' phase, and has been for some time. I am probably being a bit paranoid, as I have not hit my EDD date yet, but I have read how others are getting emails indicating part shortages or other issues. In the past with other Dell purchases, my order has been canceled or otherwise put on hold without notice, and the page does not update very quickly. Thanks!
Rich S. -
This I agree with, it would be nice if there was a standard discount all across the board regardless of where you are. I don't know how some people can get over 20% off and the next person can only get 2% off the same system, like Steviejones said it does depend on the configuration but it would be nice to see the same discounts for the same machine.

PM sent to Rev

Hey Rachid, sent you another PM.
