Hello everyone i am new here have been reading for a while now and I have owned an alienware m15x for 2 years now and I am about to upgrade to a m17x r4. I would like to get a quote from one of the dell representatives from dell here but after reading a whole bunch of this forum i do not have any questions that I need help with and i do not believe I have enough knowledge to help anyone out so is there a way to get in contact with a representative without having my 5 posts so i can pm.

I just did a configuration for an m17x and there was no option for the 680m on the US site.

Just finalized my order a little bit ago. The most difficult part was, honestly, getting up to 5 posts so I could send Rev a PM, hah. Got an M18xR2 w/ the 3820, 16 gigs of ram, dual 7970s, killer nic, blu-ray, 512gb ssd, and 3-yr advanced warranty. Stephen (the dell rep with whom I spoke) was awesome. Thanks Stephen and thanks Rev!

 

Did the 5 to 15% discount end?

 

I don't see it advertised on the web site or configurator anymore, at any rate.

LOL I called Dell directly and they said the most they will discount it and it's in their POLICY now is $25 bucks? LOL. Sadly I might be forced to go with Sager instead unless the reps here can do a lot better.

 

Haha, don't worry these reps will do much better for you. I talked to Dell Canada directly before finding this thread and the sales rep tried to tell me the same thing about there being a new policy. He told me that all he could do was 2% off the order and IF his manager approved it could take off a whole $15 more LOL. This came out to a whole $60 or $70 off of a $2500 plus machine.

You will thank god that you found this thread and weren't a poor soul that ordered directly from Dell.

I have had a bit of an ordeal getting my order completed and shipped but that is not the fault of my sales rep I found through here as far as I can tell.

I was looking at the bare basics and was wondering after a couple of years would I still be able to upgrade the Processor to i7-3820
also video card to the latest GTX 680M

If so would it be cheaper to buy now and upgrade it later

Us dell contacted me by email and basically said they have no discounts on the aw systems and cant give me a discount like everyone said here. So rev and rachids way doesn't work either. What a waste of time. Guess I am buying a Samsung or sager.
