Unless they changed the storyline before Hardline was released, I refuse to buy it because it is tainted by an unacceptable liberal/anti-conservative/anti-gun-rights agenda. It's sad to see this kind of flawed and treasonous political bias cancer migrating from the lunatic fringe in Hollywood to gaming. Hopefully, they got the message this was completely unacceptable to the traditional majority view when it was still in beta. I haven't read or heard anything to suggest they have fixed that problem.

Sad isn't it. Gaming is a useful tool for propaganda, just as much of Hollywood has been for a very long time now.
Nothing Tin Foil about that either. People like to pretend propaganda died with Hitler and Goebbels. Oh my has it become ever more sophisticated since those pioneers.TomJGX likes this. -
Don't forget Stalin
.. probably outdid those 2 sliently

On that note, I just re-watched Enemy at the Gates. If that isn't a piece of pro-Western propaganda, I don't know what is. Which is ironic given the subject matter.
-
I've seen the movie and don't get your point.. Seemed more like Anti-German propoganda to me..
-
Bro, almost every WWII film is anti-Nazi. That's not the point...
-
the point, i think, is people are taking political correctness too seriously and turning mole hills into mountains. but this is not a place i think where political discussions should continue cos it's ruining the fun of gaming...the whole gamergate thing is a great example of stupid people unable to have a discussion like adults.

Hey man I think I already said it, but I'll say it again - thanks for all these videos, they're very helpful to people with your same machine who want to get a sense of how a game is going to run. I'm a subscriber to your channel and always check out the stuff you put out.

Since hardline is using the same engine as BF4 I just used my BF4 settings and it works fine with a few fps drops here and there within a reasonable range. though, like BF4, it does randomly microfreeze during multiplayer matches.
EDIT: oh good, i can change my youtube name
will be curious to see how MKX and GTAV will play on my system.Last edited: Apr 3, 2015 -
these are my settings for BF: Hardline...they're exactly the same as BF4. Since this game doesn't respect any hardware or software vsync you'll need to cap the fps by using the gametime.maxvariablefps 60 and perfoverlay.drawfps 1 commands.
there's no way to unlock the in-game cutscenes from being 30fps.

Here GTA V is run on a A 18 with 780M SLI.
Pritty damn smooth.

it still has the problem that the consoles have in that the fps drops while travelling through intersections.
-
-
I dont have that problem myself. Its constantly smooth for me, super happy about it.
-
Probably will get MKX next and see how that fairs.
Stay tuned
-
Are you getting good stable frame rates on the 780M? Besides the intersection thing, I mean
-
if i don't have the fps counter on then it's fine. though some people said that if you're display is 59hz it causes stutter so will try the built-in panel as my monitor is 59hz.
currently downloading MKX so will see how that goes. -

Nice! I can hardly wait for the new movie, but the game looks pretty sweet, too.

Funny thing about the new mad max film is that it's meant to be set in post apocalyptic Australia but they shoot it in Namibia....WTF?

Boy's... here a Killing Floor 2 gameplay video I did. Apologies it wasn't recorded on my Alienware. Still it's worth the share since it's such a good game.

Since the Apocalypse hasn't happened yet, how are they supposed to shoot on-location?
-
hahaha i mean the original MM films were all set in the Australian desert (or outback to Aussies like me) so shooting it Namibia to stand in for the Australian desert is a bit stupid...unless they can't stand the high temps
-
Along the same lines of latitude so climate is similar
-
the original MM films was from a time when Mel Gibson had an Australian accent
-
Oh I see, those were the days before Mad (Crazy) Mel

Really like this game a lot...

when he was actually good rather than the mess he is now!

with witcher 3 pre-loaded i bought project cars to see how that runs.
-
Project Cars runs really nice on a 780m
-
With or without overclocking the graphics card?
-
-
The poor 780M... The 970M which was cheaper just trolls it completely.. Maxwell really has been a revolution performance wise
-
My 780m wasn't really getting maxed out it was clocking in at about 960MHz.

970m will suffer the same fate as previous graphics card after a while
-
We can always count on this to be consistent: Think your GPU is awesome? Wait a minute. *bubble bursts* Your GPU was awesome.
-
still tossing between getting the 970m or the 980m though i was leaning towards the 970m because i am being a cheapskate.
-
Personally, I think there's too little performance difference between 970M and 780M to justify spending money on that. Replacing a dead 780M with a 970M would make good sense, but it's really more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. Don't let the "gotta have newer" bug bite cause you to lose touch with reality. The benchmarks don't lie. 970M is a really good low-budget upgrade from something substantially less powerful than 780M, like 7970M or 675M.
You only need to make yourself happy. My only concern is you will spend the money and won't be happy as soon as the new wears off. It usually takes a couple of GPU generations for a flagship to fall to second place. You're starting off in second place with 970M and the next generation second place GPU will put yours in third place overnight. Paying more for today's best generally gives you at least two, sometimes even three, years of competitive performance.Papusan likes this. -
i'm still deciding to where a game will be totally crippling the 780m.

You don't say old bean
It's so true Mr Fox... It's unbelievable how technology is evolving nowadays... Blink and in an instant whatecer you had is obsolete...

I would just keep OCing it... I think you can hold on till September.. Might as well get a new laptop then lol..Mr. Fox likes this. -
I think I have already reached its limit on a 240w PSU. May as well get a new pc.
Last edited: May 18, 2015 -
Or you could get a 330W PSU + new GPU + 4910MQ?
Ugh scrap that.. Sell this and get a new laptop

Or, keep it, love it for as long as it lasts, and build a new desktop. That's probably going to be my next move. I absolutely HATE sitting at a desk, but not nearly as bad as I hate crippled garbage. The current trend suggests crippled garbage is soon to be all we are going to have available in mobile, and I'm not going to lower my standards or contribute to the wealth of greedy OEMs by spending my money on trash.
-
I went that route very reluctantly brother Fox. I've actually got my r2 semi barebones in the market place but am having second thoughts now 980m sli seems to be working well in the R2 and is smashing desktops once again.
Kind of feel the R2 should be in a display cabinet.Mr. Fox likes this. -

The 970m is going to more easily maintain a decent overclock in gaming than the 780M though Mr.Fox and the 970M - what you get for the 780M is not going to be bad.
