Using Svl7 vBIOS + J95's inf mod... In optimus mode and works perfectly

same for the 980m?

Which of the graphics tests in 3Dmark11 who use the most wattage % of the power target set in oc software ?
Last edited: May 26, 2015 -
Listen, I always use EVGA Precision X to OC... This way, I set power target to max and decouple the power target from the throttle temp(there is small clip icon which you need to click)... This makes sure that there is no power throttling.. of course, if voltage is too low, it will crash

I use EVGA Precision X to OC and normally put the power target to 130% as priority... I was just wondering which of the graphics tests used most power in 3Dmark11 and Fire Strike for test of max gpu power(% of Tdp). I also wondered if Nvidia has made a threshold of power consumption with its newer drivers in kepler graphics and wanted to test power target settings. As many have experienced throttling and lower benchmark scores in 3Dmark11 and Firestrike with Kepler and latest drivers, I wanted to check things out. This is perhaps bigger problems for Kepler sli system. I have good benchmark results with my single Kepler card while others may have problems with newest drivers.Last edited: May 27, 2015

Hatred - the most boring game to be released to date! so boring and uninteresting that I uninstalled it as soon as I stopped the recording.

Even the whole thought process behind that game is just demented at its core. I watched the trailer on Steam and I was appalled, and I'm not easily disturbed by things like this. As I watched the trailer, I actually envisioned the mentally ill serial killers and domestic terrorists/mass shooter youth of tomorrow playing that game. This is a good example of a sick-o game that gives awesome violent games a bad name with the anti-violent game and anti-gun idiots.

gaming will survive passed this game: it will just be forgotten to the sands of time. think nothing of it.

So, The Witcher 3 - 30fps lock at 1600x900 and medium-high settings. Is that the best compromise you've found? What framerates have you seen at full hd resolution?
-
about the same with occasional dips though the only problem is that 1080p on a 780m for me at least produced higher GPU temps.
now that i am on a 980m i can push it to 1080p30 on ultra with hairworks off cos it's not really something i care about.Last edited: Jun 6, 2015 -
Which GPU temperature got you in The Witcher 3 with oc gtx780m and 1080P? Run you high overclock on gtx780m?
-
temps were about mid-60s and up at 1080p30.
780m clocks
core: 1009
memory: 1500 (effective 6000)
voltage: 1.062v -
With high settings ?
-
PostProcessing: Medium Preset
Graphics: High Preset (w/ Shadow quality at medium, hairworks off) - 1600x900 with 30fps cap selected
EDIT: shadows seem to be the most GPU heavy thing in the game and setting it to medium should lower GPU temps.
i personally don't think this game can be played at 1080p60 on any gaming laptop so playing this at 30fps is quite decent.Last edited: Jun 7, 2015Papusan likes this. -
980M SLI can do it
-
I'm not really interested in Witcher 3, but comments like this make me want to buy it just to benching the crap out of it with everything cranked to the max.
$60 is too much for a benchmark software tool, LOL. -

I think I paid like 5$ or something for 3DMARK on a steam sale.. course... you don't get to play the Witcher 3 either then...
Fox, if you don't play the witcher 3, what are you playing this year ? -
Mr Fox has more than enough of trying to find solutions to the throttle problems that Nvidia has added to their drivers
.

I think he's usually playing a classic called 3d Mark 11 and Vantage

Hey guys... Arkham Knight is coming out in 3 days. I just got it for 60% off of the Steam price.
http://www.cdkeyhouse.com/steam-keys/870-batman-arkham-knight-cdkey-steam.html
I just registered the key successfully with Steam, so now waiting for it to unlock on the 23rd.
At $23.99 USD that is the kind of price I usually wait 6 to 12 months for. -
-
I do not see any link to preload it. It is in my library. If I go to the store page it shows it as already in my library. Right-clicking on it in the library there is no preload option.
I'm trying to remember who all of the Batman game fans are here so I can let them know before the keys are all gone. I don't remember if @TBoneSan or @steviejones133 or @Matrix Leader6 were or not. @Papusan has never mention his favorites that I can recall. It's not that often you can get AAA title for 60% off this early.Last edited: Jun 20, 2015 -
there should be a button on the actual game page in your library.
-
Apparently it's not available for preload.
-
Did you get it?
I have been wanting this one for a long time, but didn't want to spend $30 on it. I just snagged it on Steam sale this evening for under $10. I really like it.

That's a sweet deal for a day one code!
I've seen a bunch of angry forum posts over on Ubi about why hasn't it pre-released yet? It's already too late for those on slow connections for day one game play.Mr. Fox likes this. -
looks like it is up for pre-load...will probably have to get the retail version cos i am over my quota
-
Yup, I am pre-loading it as we speak. It's a 33.7GB download, roughly 13GB larger than Arkham Origins.
What quota? I'm not aware of any kind of quotas or limits from Steam. Are you speaking of a self-discipline/personal spending limit?
---Edit---
I just ran the Arkham Origins benchmark on the M18xR2 with the CPU at 4.3GHz and 780M SLI running stock clocks and got FPS Min: 83 Max: 225 Avg: 155 with maxed out graphics settings. I'll run it with 980M SLI and post that also. We can see how Arkham Knight compares. I sure do hope it has a benchmark tool like they always have in the past.

This thread is too good to be on page #3.
I got this game the other day for under $20 and it's awesome.

Why 40hz at 1080P? -
urgh! too many US voice actors for a post-apocalyptic Australia!
-
Only because I didn't notice and change it.
Surprised it looked and played as nice as it does at 40Hz.
Now I'll have to look and fix it. It's set at 60Hz on the desktop.
What @octiceps said. Just import it and it won't affect any of your other game profiles. Unfortunately, something in NVIDIA drivers (probably so many morphodite games none of us have even heard of with unrecognized Asian characters) does not allow you to import all profiles at once (single file for all profiles). That same problem also broke functionality of the GeForce Profile Tool as well as this feature of NVIDIA Inspector. You can export/import one or a few at a time, but the moment you try to import one of the goofy profiles that NVIDIA Inspector doesn't play nice with it fails.
The zip file has profiles for Phantom Pain, GTA V, Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight also. -

i might install GFE just for shadowplay, record some gameplay vids, then uninstall it.

Why don't you just use Afterburner?
-
AB has an fps drop due to it being cpu bound.

Even with NVENC?
-
Maybe not will have to give it a try but the traditional method it does.

The afterburner recordings look like crap at 5Mbps...even with the NVENC option.

Why such low bitrate? I always use 50 Mbps for 1080p. Not like there's a performance difference when recording.
