Looks pretty amazing. Very realistic graphics. Reminds me of the desert area around the Grand Canyon. Thanks for sharing.

I recorded some walker assault mode so will upload it too.

Very nice!

The game's performance in the beta isn't as bleak as many have said, it runs very well, the sfx is accurate and it feels like you're in the movies and I think that's what they're going for.
The AT-ATs being on rails isn't as bad as people said too.

I really enjoyed the beta. I'd like to get this game, just not at full price. Since I don't have so much time for games lately I actually appreciated the shallow learning curve.

there's not much of a learning curve. it's not mechanically deep either. it's the opposite of battlefield in every way.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
Kinda not happy with the SP performance...especially the fps drops.

I've only had about 30 minutes to spare for this game, but love it already. I watched most of your video and did not notice any huge FPS fluctuations. Did I miss them somehow? Plays nice... nice clip.
-
The fps starts to drop at 0:48 but drops aggressively to the high 20s when your character comes on screen.

Hmm. Seems really great for me. I just uploaded this video.

Get a better CPU... 4700MQ might be bottlenecking 980M lol..Mr. Fox likes this.

Bah I wish I could upgrade it right now but saving for a trip instead.

Save up for another system, like a Sky X9. No point in upgrading. Time to replace that Alienware with something else, since they no longer support the amazing, high quality/extreme performance products they used to sell.
-
i'll look into a metabox (the aussie clevo reseller) when i am through with this alienware.
-
Why would you do that? Look at the ones in Canada lol... Or have you moved to Australia now?
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk -
I'm only in Canada on a 2 year visa. I'd love to stay but the window to allow for processing is too small.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk -
So you're originally from Australia? If so ... Where in Australia?
-
B&R in Sydney. like i said, i'd love to stay in canada longer but the window to get all the paperwork needed, processed and approved is too short to get it all done. the fact that i got permanent FT work at the start of this year only just gives me enough time to get the required work experience to apply...along with getting the language tests (which is stupid since i am from an english speaking country so i don't get why i would need to do an english test anyway?!?!).
the amount of paperwork + the small time frame = too much emotional stress and i am trying to have less stress so i decided not to do it while in Canada but once in Australia i'll look into it. i'm like 10 months into the job and i only need till about mid january 2016 to accumulate the time needed to fill that part of the criteria. -
What is better with Canada than Australia? Or it makes no difference?
-
the snow is great cos it don't snow in Sydney. LOL the actual city layout here where i am in Canada is quite easy to navigate where Sydney is a complete mess of a maze.
anyway, i've recorded some more battlefront content....this time i get to play as Han Solo

Here's what it BO3 looks like without any G-SYNC or V-Sync crippling bottlenecks.

I though G-Sync screen was a nice feature. Why is it crippling bottleneck ? Or are I missing something? Is it because of capping fps to 75 ?
-
G-SYNC works really excellent except that it caps FPS to monitor refresh rate like v-sync does, but it looks a lot smoother and nicer... great for game eye candy, but lowers FPS. Depends on what you want more. I'm not sure I would pay extra for G-SYNC, but it is a nice to have feature. I'd rather have higher frame rate. Everything looks amazing with G-SYNC enabled and some people value that more that triple-digit FPS.Papusan likes this.
-
if you can get to the same spot in my video and see if the fps drops at the same point and post that it would be great. @D2 Ultima and i seem to be getting this issue along with a few others.
-
It does not cap FPS if you disable V-Sync in NVCP, but there will be tearing when FPS exceeds the VRR window. The default behavior of G-Sync is to have V-Sync enabled as well, that's where the FPS cap comes from.
-
Where in the game (what mission) is that? I'd be happy to check when I get there. I have hardly any time into the game yet other than those to demo videos.
That's what I thought. I haven't even made an effort to read up or try understand G-SYNC, or how to properly use it. It doesn't make the beast go faster, so it's not that important in my mind. It would be nice for those games like Wolfenstein that cannot use SLI and where FPS are already fixed. Things do look better with G-SYNC enabled. If I can notice it, then people that are sensitive to it will really notice and appreciate it. I'm sort of impressed with the enhanced appearance it brings, I will admit that. It's kind of like high quality audio for me. For free... hell yeah. I don't know that I would be interested in paying extra to have it. I know there's no way I would buy a G-SYNC monitor. Because of my lack of appreciation for it, it would be like torching money. Way too stinking expensive for something I not head-over-heels excited about. -
On laptop, I agree as I think Nvidia is unethical to charge money for something based on an open standard. But on desktop I'd get a G-Sync monitor.
-
the level is called hypnocenter and it's about half way through the game.Mr. Fox likes this.
-
OK. I look for it when I get there. I'm just barely getting started. That last clip was as far as I have gone.
-
even though this is on consoles at 4:22 is the ferris wheel event where it drops super big for me on PC. -
-
How do you like it? I'm got it pre-ordered for free thanks to the generosity of a friend.
-
it's more team oriented and i didn't go through the tuts so i obviously sucked in the vid lolMr. Fox likes this.
-
OK, I made it to that spot and did not notice anything with dropping frame rates. If it did it was so slight that it was noticed.
Don't worry about sucking at the gameplay. The tutorials are not very useful. It's a new title and I already noticed some hacks going on, which will likely ruin the online experience. I got shot twice by a person that was invisible and on once by a person that was in a different spot than where I saw them. I shot them three times, once in the head, and nothing happened to them. Combined with the immature punks that think using the 'F word' twice in each sentence makes them a big boy, I finally said "screw it" and quit playing.thegh0sts said: ↑it's more team oriented and i didn't go through the tuts so i obviously sucked in the vid lolClick to expand...
I tried the beta for the first time today and I'm not particularly impressed with how it looks. It's not "cutting edge" graphics by any means... looks very dated in terms of quality. I also could not get it to run in full screen mode. The option in the game is ignored and all I could do it choose full screen window mode, and that sucks. I'll upload a video here in a bit. Benchmark results suggest the game is not overly taxing on resources, so it should play fine on low spec machines.

Here's the vid I said I would upload...

Interestingly enough both Star Wars Battlefront and Mad Max do not exhibit screen flickering....it could be a driver fix or me going to win 10...can't say for sure.

woodzstack Alezka Computers , Official Clevo reseller.
You have screen flickering ? Could be the adaptive refresh, or not having it on. Could be a adpative power issue or power link state , ugh, is it on a external monitor or the LCD ?thegh0sts said: ↑Interestingly enough both Star Wars Battlefront and Mad Max do not exhibit screen flickering....it could be a driver fix or me going to win 10...can't say for sure.Click to expand... -

Nah, that was a bug in the Clevo EC that Prema fixed. It's all good now, and it was the CPU, not GPU, throttling due to invalid power settings.thegh0sts said: ↑I haven't encountered any throttling with a single 980M.
