I had not played this game in a couple of years and decided to reinstall it. For how old it is, especially, this game still looks amazing on PC.
I dug up my old Hamachi Fix. The Hamachi fix is a No-CD/No Games for Windows Live tweak for GoW... see download link below. I found the instructions to enable the game control console to disable vsynch. I'm now getting 250+ FPS consistently with current hardware (when not recording with Afterburner). The console command to disable vsynch is: set Engine.GameEngine bSmoothFrameRate FALSE for those that prefer achieving higher FPS. Once entered for the first time, the command is memorized in the list and can be re-selected by using the down arrow key.
It's incredible how much this game takes advantage of CPU power. Most newer games rely less on CPU and more on GPU. I had this bad boy set on the normal 45x4 CPU clock settings and it got warmer than it normally does playing games.

Where are the new gaming videos, guys? I really enjoyed Bruno's videos... awesome stuff... mas video por favor!
-
It's taken a couple days to put this together but I'm happy with the result. It was a lot of fun to record.

There are thousands of lame people that watch clips in my youtube video library and don't ever give them a thumbs up, LOL. But, I guess they're not as lame as the rare viewer than gives a thumbs down.
-
That's true. I'm convinced that the thumbs down button on youtube is actually a troll face in disguise.

The games in the Painkiller series have always been a blast. I just pre-ordered the new one through Steam and thought it would be cool to record my very first launch of the game. Here is a quick preview from the beta release... This is my first five minutes of gameplay. Enjoy...

gotta love the marketingThanks for making this known to me Fox.
Another nice one Ithian, I can tell you're enjoying the editing -
That painkiller game looks really tough not to buy, thanks for the video Fox. I'm going to be tossing back and forth on it now as I've been trying to save up for a new ssd, but great games keep getting in the way of that lol.
Thanks Quag! I really am enjoying it. I've wanted to get into making more videos for a long time now and this thread really helped nudge me in that direction. -

Since you enjoy, you have all the knowledge needed to make a game selection/clip/title I'm sure I'll enjoy. It's all about the art
Edit: First saw them in around '82/'83 heading up Monsters of Rock, cannons heard 4 miles away...oh-er old-fart alert!!!
Edit 2: Brief music interlude - love to see what you come up with to 'The Jack' -

. Now you have a title I'm sure ideas will come together as you game.
From what you are thinking I'd probably say Sleeping Dogs but GTA V works (in my mind!). SD is my next-in-line so I'm short on scenarios that might suit. -

It's not my camcorder machine performance m/o, but it was fun. I am playing Project CARS (we're in pre-Alpha stage) and I was toying around with the free camera and found some cool angles and tricks to get some shots. I am really impressed with the reflections and detail so far. I decided to look for a song to go with the slow sexy moving and...
awwwe yeah, time for some sweet weekly love, it's, it's Business Time (by Flight of the Concords).
I'm not going to do the normal embed of this vid here because I had Ozzy Osbourne's Zombie Stomp used for almost 2 years on youtube without a IP problem, then after 2 days of embed in this thread (post #116), the songs owners took it down and said sorry (I put a lot of editing work inot that vid, tis the brakes). When uploading this vid, I got the IP notice as usual, but I noticed it said "can use on youtube". I got the impression if you embed these type of vids with normal embed code, youtube will take it down since embedding may not show the ads that are the cost of using the songs.
So here is a link to take you to youtube:

Ah yes... benching with a computer sitting on your lap. Intel XM CPU, dual GPU, both overclocked. Just sitting in the living room easy chair, feet propped up on the ottoman. Mobile computing doesn't get any better than this. Thanks, Alienware.

On another note, I haven't been able to "Like" anyone's comment, am I missing something? The link is there and it shifts the page when clicked, but I don't see the icon like I do with others. -
.
On the "Like" problem... go to the lower left corner and change your dropdown to --vB4 Default Style and that will most likely correct the problem. It should also make any advertisements you may be seeing go away. -

Running warmer at 4.0GHz than it was a few days ago at 4.4GHz, so it's time to repaste the CPU. (Compare to temps here 3DMark Vantage - Lap Dance with Jane Nash - YouTube from a few days ago.) Even with the temps creeping up a bit, she still runs like a banshee with a caffeine overdose, LOL. FPS are 25 to 50% higher without screen recording.

Hey Mr. Fox, if you have to re-paste, since you have the 680m's in SLI now, can you update your guide with pictures at the part where you're about to add the paste?
-
I don't need to repaste the GPUs, only the CPU. I will not be repasting the video card heat sinks because they are running as cool as cucumbers. I was planning to test a phase-change thermal pad similar to what Dell uses on the heat sinks rather than paste. (I'm not sure if that's what you are wanting to see or not.)
-
Ah, the CPU. Okay, never mind.
Nice video btw. -
Just grabbed a free demo key from Alienware Arena. This clip is just a down and dirty look on my first launch of the game in an empty multiplayer server. Looks like it might be a very cool online multiplayer. I have not played with any settings, but on first blush I notice it is only using one GPU. It also reminds me a bit of Rage, which I like very much.
If you haven't seen it yet, may want to grab it while keys are still available.
