I don't think you can go wrong with shirley's.....they have sold qx9300's and people left feedback saying they were happy with qx9300 in the text of the feedback. Not that I am saying to count out zfactor.....just seems like a very worthy seller with credit card protection also which is a plus!
-
If it was $400 they were ES (or QS -- same thing)
-
OEM are offical CPUs from Intel that have a warranty
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ahh what does that mean? QS and ES VS OEM? whats the major difference?
Ok that makes sense... should I have a problem with the ES or QS... I mean I am saving 400-500 dollars -
qs and es are the same I believe.....
-
They are engineering samples, meaning pre-production for testing.
shirley sells final versions of es samples that are identical to the oem and retail variants.
you shouldn't have any problems -
(adding smiley's counts as my 10 char)
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
They are es cpu. But since it is E0 stepping... HE says I can purchase a OEM X9300 for 600 instead if I want... Also Zfactor told me the prices of the X9300 are going up exponentially ever since the release of the M17x so the prices are going to keep going up
-
To get an Intel Warranty the CPU has to be purchased retail (not oem), in a box, from an authorized dealer. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yes I know that's one He has... the question is do I wan't to spend the extra 200? everything I have heard from Z and others tell me the final production ES models with the EO stepping are identical and just as good without the "intel" warranty, whatever that's really good for anyway
-
look at ebay prices. shirley is the only one left at 400$ my cost of the es chips is over 400$ now fyi
e0 is perfect dont worry about it at all do not spend the extra money for a oem
i may have the last shipment coming out of customs soon i had 7 on the way at the same price since i paid less for them they have been held for a week now which sucks. i cant sell them here thoughi can get oem but they are so much more for nothing imo. sucks i have t9900's in that box also..
-
-
no where except cpuz or similar and bios does it say es. windows does not say es anywhere as long as you get qgng e0 stepping or newer
-
even shirley just confirmed with me the prices will be going up next week..there is a shortage of them around currently especially in qs form from what my china sources are saying
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
And that's what Z and Shirley sell... And Shirley say's he completely understands that I am ordering my CPU before my laptop... so she is allowing me a larger time frame if there are any problems, 45 days
-
remember guys i cant sell these here for those sending pm's...they dont allow es sales anymore
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
He's allowing me 45 days!!! yea, so Mandrake so much for that I think I'll just recieve it myself but thank you anwyay...
EDIT: Oh hey guys is there anyway I can get any of those discounts you were talking about... I turned 18 a little while ago and I have my own Ebay account now, so this will be my first purchase -
I bought my QX9300 from shirley, knock on wood but it's been solid as a rock @2.93ghz. Good seller and quality processor.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Cool I am too, now I'm just trying to figure out a coupon to use.. if I can lol
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Can I make a bing cashback account with my Gmail account?
-
no you have to sign up for bing and they seem to not be doing instant anymore so it may take the full 60+ days to get it back
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ahh screw it... What the hell I am trying to purchase again after getting the refund... problem though... its asking me to link my bank account, I jsut want to purchase through my debit card... I didn't have to do this BS the first time... so why is it asking now?
-
I bought one tonight and got instant cash back....but I have made TONS of ebay purchases with cashback...Maybe it depends on your account history. Gotta thank Bill (gates) for the extra 32 bucks tonight! lol
-
Im Still waiting for my Qx9300 ordered over a week ago and still hasnt arrived yet, i know its not the sellers fault as it has been with customs since sunday, argh. are they trying to give me a stroke!?!?
I have so much to do on my M17 when that arrives argh, oh well will be worth it
Pete -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Mandrake! hey man, I got refunded and can't purchase till tomorrow, however, I have the option of buying the Qx9300 ES with the GNG EO stepping for 400 or the OEM for 600... he is also extending the return policy to 45 days for me, I told him I wasn't getting my M17x for a while so I wouldn't be able to test it and he worked with me
-
What did you get before an OEM?
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
The ES with QGNG EO stepping which is essentially the same as the OEM
-
i would go with the ES if it is the same as the OEM why pay more?
EDIT: Btw, mandrake, love your avatar XD -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
It techincally doesn't have the intel warranty as it is the final engineering sample before the offical chip was released
-
-
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
No lol... I changed my adress... to your house lol to send it direct to you... then as I talked to him more and told em I wasn't getting my lappy for a while he said he would extend the return to 45 days as DELL is notorious for less than punctual shipping... I talked to him for a good bit of time, and he told me he also has OEM X9300's for 600
-
tbh i wouldnt worry about OEM ones, get a QGNG and an E0 stepping and your good to go.
Reminds me of the good old barton 2.5ghz days getting the right steppings lol
Pete -
ya, save the $200 bucks! Plus with the cash back it only cost me $368!! Not bad for an upgrade that sells for $1000.00...
-
good luck wit ur new cpu...
-
looky looky i just found Q9200 cpu but it doesn't say it has unlocked multiplier... do all Q9200 cpu's have unlocked multipliers?
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-INTEL-CORE-...CS%2BUFI%2BUA%2BIA%2BUCI&otn=15&po=LVIC&ps=54
It also says it will work in the M17 so I guess it will work in M17x? -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
yes it will work in the M17x, it does have an unlocked multiplier
-
they all will have unlocked multipliers as it is actually just a qx9300 with a lower multiplier
-
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Oh nvrm I'm thinking of the Qx9100 Sorry, edit
-
ITS Q9000
Q9100
Q9200
Qx9300 -
EDIT: lol i need a faster internet than this 3G to compete with u cow -
i have 512k satellite internet with a 1800ms ping -
-
-
no the way i have it listed is how it is.
the Q9200 does not Officially exist -
o ok... so no unlocked multiplier right?
-
-
oh ok... sweet i think i should get the $250 Q9200...
-
THe Q(X)9200 is essentially a lower clocked QX9300.
It shows up as EXTREME in CPUID and has the multiplier's unlocked.
It's thought that they were thinking of coming out with a 2.4 line, but just decided to release the 2.53 line instead.
You will NOT find an OEM/RETAIL Q(X)9200. Essentially, it does not exist...yet it does. Your best bet is to search for an E0 Stepping ES. Mine is a QAVS with E0 Stepping, supposedly the one right before it would have been retail. Any lower and you'll risk having one without temperature sensor identification (although it'll work...you just won't be able to monitor temps).
If you're buying one without that, PM the seller and ask them if it is a revision with the temp sensors established. If not, offer a lower price if you want it. If it comes in and doesn't have the temp sensors, then you can hopefully argue with them and get money back.
Cheapest QX9300?
